Asuka, anyway well his feelings for both Asuka and Rei seem far more genuine than in the series when it kind of came off as just a sexual attraction (though I'm not saying that's all there was to it), while same thing with Asuka (Shikinami) she is more honest with herself about her feelings.

You can buy a copy of the (Chinese?) version on Amazon.com. It is supposedly not of the best quality, but it has English subtitles and can be played on North America dvd players. Hope that helps. Anyways, I have heard that Funimation has acquired the rights to 2.0 and should be releasing that sometime next year as well, so, that's one thing to look forward to next year. ^_____^

@Zero4ph But the original did have a happy, if obscure and confusing, ending. :) The End of Evangelion, on the other hand, was pretty much what Anno did to lash out at the fanbase who wasn't satisfied with the original ending; the film even included scans of the death threats that were mailed to him.

well to me NGE looks Vague and lame EoE is better IMO it really explained whats been going on in Shinji's mind during pre and post Instrumentality and yes It is a commonly held belief that Hideaki Anno created End of Evangelion as a form of revenge against Evangelion fans unhappy with the existing ending to the TV series. In reality, the End of Evangelion is closer to the original concept for the series ending, which was changed due to budget and censorship issues.

I already had the chance to watch the full movie and it's fucking good. I love Ayanami in this movie. I love when Rei demonstrates She feel comfortable with Shinji and invites him to dinner to help him to improve the relationship with his father. I love rei.

Rei's character continues to develop in Evangelion 2.0, with Rei even asking Gendo for permission to hold a dinner for her fellow pilots, and putting a very determined effort at cooking for the party. She also shows visible shock after hearing about the Bardiel incident and Asuka's fate. Consumed along with her Eva by the Angel Zeruel, she is absorbed into Eva-01 at the end of the movie along with Shinji.

Hideaki Anno was satisified with the original series, Rebuild's goals are to revitalize the Anime industry and make Evangelion's message a bit more accessible,the major difference between rebuild and the original is that rebuild is story driven whereas the original is character driven.
