I feel so behind the times....I first heard this song in restaurant bathroom a couple of days ago and was captured! Then again, I wasn't born until '88 and my parents are big motowners. But thanks for posting!
@agamick New Wave?? Not at all! No Punk, No Disco it was late 70*ies coming flowing over Cheerest Australia 1979/1980, without everymeaning *** What a great band!
Boy, do I remember this video! MTV played it a lot in its first few years. I racked my brains for years trying to remember who did this. Thank you Youtube!
The good times of New Wave was in full swing at this time. Although this song never reached the heights of Hey St Peter, it nonetheless got good airplay on FM in the old days - which is where you want to hear it anyway.
It's hard to tell from this version, but back when I saw it directly off TV it appeared they did all those flash and split-screen effects in film editing rather than in video. It would have been easy to do those effects in video, but doing heavy effects like that in film gave it a strange look. Pretty impressive.
This video is so old that these effects weren't available as video effects for another couple of years. ADO (Ampex Digital Opticals) didn't appear until the mid-80s. This was probably done on a multi-plane camera system, or possibly a Clearlight slide system.

Please don't mention the names of broadcast networks. That's how they find and delete videos. Thanks.
That's actually a very good pick there. Funny enough, that nearly rings true. Harry lives a few suburbs away from me and he is quite a nice humble sort-a-guy. Not one to ever mind not making the scene.
I couldn't say, galv. I have to pick up these clues from over here behind the *TERROR* ("Be afwaid, be vewy vewy afwaid. We awe hunting Wiberaws") curtain over here in the USA.
And me too, air. I can't think of any other musical group that includeds an infamous George and an infamous Harry ...
man, i gotta re-explore Flash & the Pan. i'm in Ohio, and they got some airplay in Cleveland back in their day. thanks for posting.

Despite the fact that the original album version is 6 min long having any version of "Media Man" is better than nothing.

Great song from Down Under...And what a video F&P produced in 1978...Real fun and extraordinary for that period. Thanks for sharing!

Maybe I've had too many beers, but the reporter at the start bears an uncanny resemblance to Phil Rudd.

Ok, I won't mention any broadcast network. I think that ultimately, the song is about Rupert Murdoch.

Vanda & young are so underated as producers. I would like to see those 2 do another AC/DC album together.
I just hope AC/DC uses GEORGE again on there new album.

I noticed that too, that Harry wasn't on the "scene" in Stiff Upper Lip (I think it was) ...

Yes Stiff upper lip .I read that Vanda departed from Young and started Flashpoint Music with his son ?
