  • man, i gotta re-explore Flash & the Pan. i'm in Ohio, and they got some airplay in Cleveland back in their day. thanks for posting.

  • Though it was going into the A Team theme at the start!

  • Oh man, what a sweet, sweet memory from my crazed youth.

  • I feel so behind the times....I first heard this song in restaurant bathroom a couple of days ago and was captured! Then again, I wasn't born until '88 and my parents are big motowners. But thanks for posting!

  • Despite the fact that the original album version is 6 min long having any version of "Media Man" is better than nothing.

  • I remember listening to this on the U of M radio station back in the DAY!

  • @whitewolf60 U of M as in the U. of Michigan Wolverines?

If so what do you think of (Brady Hoke) the new UM FB coach?

  • This is GREAT! Thanks for posting!!! Brings back memories - my girlfriend from school and I listened to this all the time, we were 14.

  • "Copper colored hair"...lol

  • WOW ... I thought I had imagined this tune back in the 80's since I coulsn't find it anywhere. Thanks for posting !!!

  • A bit AC/DCish. But not a surprise considering the George Young connection.

  • Nothing Has Really Changed-Its the same old BlaBla......Great Video, Remember it Well !!!!

  • great song = temazo

  • we had a fantastic radio station here in d.c. all thru the 70's and 80's that played all this stuff,...WHFS...sure do miss that station...!

  • @webkinzfreak221 Perhaps you find some great tunes at my channel...The best from the ´80´s ...Take a look!!!!

    Thanks....

  • My favorite word faded at the end....

    ~"BULLSHIT"....

  • Media man-a man of my dreams!

  • Cool Song & Vid!!! 5*s Thank You...Anita..

  • Easybeats band members George and Harry....excellent video for this track...5*s

  • The primitive effects made for a more enjoyable video, and I love F&P.

  • Did not think I would find this! What a great surprise to see it on here. New Wave at its best!!! Thanks.

  • I had it, I posted it, you saw it. That's what YouTube is all about.

  • God job.

  • @agamick New Wave?? Not at all! No Punk, No Disco it was late 70*ies coming flowing over Cheerest Australia 1979/1980, without everymeaning *** What a great band!

  • Boy, do I remember this video! MTV played it a lot in its first few years. I racked my brains for years trying to remember who did this. Thank you Youtube!

  • Good, remember Skyhooks also...

  • The highlight song of the second album.

The good times of New Wave was in full swing at this time. Although this song never reached the heights of Hey St Peter, it nonetheless got good airplay on FM in the old days - which is where you want to hear it anyway.

  • Great! I still have this album (on vinyl), but I don't even have a turntable anymore. I've never seen this video!

  • Odd, but I like it.

  • Great song from Down Under...And what a video F&P produced in 1978...Real fun and extraordinary for that period. Thanks for sharing!

  • Maybe I've had too many beers, but the reporter at the start bears an uncanny resemblance to Phil Rudd.

  • He's the spitting image of a former dutch newsreader. :)

  • old is gold ;)

  • That newsreader looks like a yet retired dutch newsreader.

  • It's hard to tell from this version, but back when I saw it directly off TV it appeared they did all those flash and split-screen effects in film editing rather than in video. It would have been easy to do those effects in video, but doing heavy effects like that in film gave it a strange look. Pretty impressive.

  • This video is so old that these effects weren't available as video effects for another couple of years. ADO (Ampex Digital Opticals) didn't appear until the mid-80s. This was probably done on a multi-plane camera system, or possibly a Clearlight slide system.

  • Thanx Murrrrrrr

  • ha ha, they cut it.

    -bullshit- is the last line/word.

  • AWESOME.

  • Flash and the pan rules.

Any chance to watch "restless" some day here on UTube?

    Thx for sharing

  • Look up the word "compere" in a decent dictionary.

  • Never thought I would see this video, brings back many memories!

  • 1980 club song

  • This song was on the radio during my most happy school year.

  • HappinessIsDionne said: wow this brings me back to junior high school, running home to watch that new channel *** when they actually showed lots of nonstop videos.

Please don't mention the names of broadcast networks. That's how they find and delete videos. Thanks.

  • Ok, I won't mention any broadcast network. I think that ultimately, the song is about Rupert Murdoch.

  • Thanks for the video, still love the band--have all their albums.

  • I love this band. But to know their real name, sometimes you have to be 'Searching For Headlines'. :-)

  • George Young and Harry Vanda - producers of AC/DC and other successes.

  • "Guitar George, he knows all the chords ...

And Harry doesn't mind if he doesn't make the scene" - Dire Straits

  • That's actually a very good pick there. Funny enough, that nearly rings true. Harry lives a few suburbs away from me and he is quite a nice humble sort-a-guy. Not one to ever mind not making the scene.

  • My mind always thinks of them whenever I hear those lyrics.

  • OMG I love picking up bits of trivia like this! THANX!! :D

  • Vanda & young are so underated as producers. I would like to see those 2 do another AC/DC album together.

I just hope AC/DC uses GEORGE again on there new album.

  • I noticed that too, that Harry wasn't on the "scene" in Stiff Upper Lip (I think it was) ...

  • Yes Stiff upper lip .I read that Vanda departed from Young and started Flashpoint Music with his son ?

  • I couldn't say, galv. I have to pick up these clues from over here behind the *TERROR* ("Be afwaid, be vewy vewy afwaid. We awe hunting Wiberaws") curtain over here in the USA.

And me too, air. I can't think of any other musical group that includeds an infamous George and an infamous Harry ...

  • Sometimes you have to search for 'HeadLines' on 'Lights In The Night'.

  • Glad to make it available! Comments like these make it all worthwhile.

  • Fabulous! I have this song from the old Napster days, but I haven't seen the video in more than 20 years. Thanks so much for posting. Love it!

  • Excellent! Thank you so much for uploading this. I love F&tP.
