  • nobody wants flying cars to have wings, smaller jet engines or concealed rotor blades are the way to go otherwise the cars will be too bulky and it's easier to get VTOL without wings being involved..

  • Such crackpot contraptions. Pathetic

  • you can effort ... your wallet is biiig give some money to build something usefull

  • It's cool but the problem is the freeway isn't a runway. Which is what you would need to take off, unless it has some sort of vertical lift system

  • Actually the closest VTOL is the wankel rotarty powered vehicle. They had a top gear special on it.

  • haha this is excellent - i'd love to have a car like that. All u haters pbly won't see a widely spread Vtol car in ur lifetime so deal with it. This thing is the closest to it yet.

  • We NEED a VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) Car.

NO WINGS, NO AIRPORT, NO RUNWAYS.

  • That's ridicuolus ,that's not a flying car.Just a plane witch has more compact wings and a car shaped body, and front lights.I hate when the title is wrong dammit!

  • one of the ugliest designs for a car or a plane...why do you stick to the old stinking designs and concepts?think boldly and innovatively....

  • A bumpy road would cause those wings to bang against each other. Not the best design.

  • wankel rotary powered flying car

Type that video on yourtube... i like the idea of that more... its a real flying car not a stupid mini airplane that has a name "flying car" printed on it.

  • u dont no licenses just drive or fly, do the math 350 million x 50 bucks is a bunch of mcarrony n chesse for u gangsters goverments, stop buying things that u never own, cuz if u dont have the damn licenses u cand fly or drive., so get u act together first ,end the licenses , permits n ordinazas that are fucking u up,u need to kick those rats that govern u n put some 1 that only ovey the desires of the people, some 1 that will respect the constitution n bring u happiness liberty n freedom.peace

  • We will truly have flying cars when the VTOL (vertical takeoff and landing) problem is solved and affordable

  • it would be so funny if you get stuck in traffic while driving to the airport hahahaha

  • Ou come one, noone will buy a "Flying car" like that one. It is not a flying car!!! It is a plane, that can also drive on the street.

What we all are waiting for is something like in the "back to the future".

Actually - what is so hard there? Flying is easy.

Look for Flying Platform - take 4 of these and we can built a stable flying car!

  • He says "Fastest way" - at 200 mph ... maybe in the U.S. - in Europe and Asia, trains go 200mph and you don't need an aircar to travel conveniently.

  • So, it doesn't fly- and even if it did, i still have to go to the freakin airport? Gee thanks clown.

  • Well it will be a cool way to beat rush hour traffic.

  • @wildone16969 oh look there's my office

    News headline:

    the second 9/11

  • weve almost got this ready to fly we just have to smooth out the lines of the body kinda bring the nose more to a point and add a proppeller and we should have the problem licked...

  • that is not a car ,

  • isn't the cockpit blocking the intake of the fan propellers?? perhaps they've already tested it on the windtunnel..

  • LOOOL "This vehicle does not fly yet [...], but what we've accomplished here [...] is make sure the doors fit, and make sure the wings fold together, and it balances the way it should, so we've learned a lot" :D :D :D :D :D :D

Perhaps he should add "we've learned how to sell our wildest dreams" :D

  • it looks alot like a regular airplane

  • how do u know what the future looks like??..

  • Notice 1:55

  • That's no flying car till we see it in action..

  • Shut up Beavis. hhhhhhhhhhhhuh huhhuhuh

  • Christ another hoopdie with wings and propellers taped to it. NO THANKS. Im still waiting for my anti-gravity mustang/camaro. Milner can take that air plane and stick it.

  • yeah but who owns one? I mean i have a flying car......but it's made out of paper... :)

  • Comment removed

  • Peice of crap, Terrafugia are miles ahead.

  • Has this vehicle/flying car flown in a test run? NO!

Has this man even taken this car off the ground? NO!

Two years later and has this thing even attempted a test run after all these years? NO!

I believe this man is a hoax, I am not saying that this should go into production anytime soon but for goodness sake, lets see if this thing is a joke, a scam or just one man's delusion.

  • Yeah, you'd really wanna leave this in a shopper car park, wouldn't ya?? There'd be a shopping trolley slammed into it in minutes, let alone the car door edges whammed into the wings..... MAJOR FAIL, MR MILNER!!!........

  • There is a smaller version in stock layout - look up cri cri aircraft

and if you combine half that span of the cri cri wing with my canard/tandem wing design in my channel - ie half the span in a tandem wing config - you can see a road going, safe aircraft that can be built right now and cheaply too.

  • it aint a flying car unless it has vertical takeoff n landing.

  • Kiss My Ass... Flying cars... That is just a messed up version of a plane. Am talking about some new invention that keeps the car the way it looks and being able to get flight with it. And stopping in mid air and park in mid air if wanted. That's just basically like a private plain. Nothing new or special. Just smaller then normal plains and more expensive.

  • Ugh, nasty shit!

  • wooo now we wont be building 7-11s for cars, we'll be building 7-11s on airports O.O

  • i dont think this wiil fly as it is prototyped

  • All you need is a VW Beetle and a helicopter rotor mounted underneath.

The moon is littered with Volkswagens from World War Two.

    Fact!!

  • Cool 1995 civic(EG6) doorjams

  • lol I am glad i am not the only one that noticed the honda handles lol so funny but I guess it has a good car heritage but problably handles nothing like a honda especially not in the air

  • The only way one of these would be practical is if you could take off from your house and land in the middle of the city on some rooftop. But this sort of thing might only be possible very very far into the future, if ever. Flying will never be as easy as driving. Especially with this sort of complicated aircraft. It's just poetic and sounds cool...in a sci-fi movie

  • Do you think that everyone is going to buy this? People who already have their pilots licenses are the target audience. Most pilots aren't idiots. Also, a single crash could take out thousands in any airplane.

  • This thing is too slow for business people and weekend pilots fly mostly for fun. These kinds of designs make it neither a good car nor a good airplane= complete waste of time and money. And like most people have commented here a single crash could take out thousands if it crashes into some kind of a building. With the kind of idiot drivers we have, imagine one of these falling onto a kindergarten!

  • The reason this design is completely impractical is not because of the technical problems. The main reason is that it doesn't make sense economically. With any of these designs you still have to go to the airport to take off legally. That defeats the very purpose of this design. If you have to drive to the airport anyway it's much more economical and practical to simply drive your own car to the airport, get into an FAA certified plane, fly to your destination and simply rent a car there!

  • plus a pilots license, don't think your current drivers license is gonna quite cut it, plus registration, flight plan, etc etc etc.... Stupid idea... What an idiot

  • at 0:10 the background is edited horrible together, you can even see the shape...

  • Yay, another Plane!

  • PRIMITIVE!!!...bring on the AntiGravity..and forget about the air-turbines and wings!!!

  • something to think of here is yeah the flying car sounds cool. do you want the jerk that cuts you off flying around? how about the woman doing make up looking at a mirror instead of the road? or my personal favorite, the guy cruising and reading a book on the interstate (yes, i have seen it)? we aren't ready for this lol. while i have faith in my driving habits, i'm not perfect, no one is. this idea could kill whole households in a single accident. this guy should think of the potential result.

  • @blueovalfan23 Hey you can kill a household with a regular car. Why wouldnt you want a flying car? This will revolutioize transportation!

  • why do people want a flying car so much

    just go buy a helicopter

  • Maybe your talented enough to drive a helicopter down the street?

  • if you had a helicopter you wouldnt need to use the street

  • Ok...let me break this down into little bite size pieces for you. You fly into a town you dont live in and you want to get a room, food, shopping, ect. You then can fold the wings up and drive there. I wonder how many communities there are out there that have hotels, shopping centers ect. with chopper landing pads?

  • Would be cheaper then a flying car :P

  • Yesssss...i'll bet your up on all of todays aircraft prices.

  • i say he did a good job, i was trying to design one myself but now only thing i can probably do is improve on anything that might cuase a problem, or even making a mini van version

  • None of those fucking flying cars make any sence I like thats plug and play ones where bassically the car just reverses in to the plane chassy and you can do it with any car you want and just leave the wings etc at the airport.

  • You can't just "any car you want" Cars are wayy wayy too heavy, and would require a lot of power and wing area to fly. Creating a very inefficient aircraft.

  • I mean the aerocar 2000 its a lotus elise made of fiberglass.

  • Why is it that female reporters think it is necessary to flirt with the camera.

...I just love the girl that asked if you need a FLYERS LICENSE...DOH

Geez , how old are you anyway?

  • isnt the whole point of having a flying car that you dont have to go to the airport? I can drive to the airport and take off in a plane right now.

  • Then you'll have to rent a car to drive at your destination.

  • slight fender bender and it cant fly anymore. gay

  • That shit doesn't fly yet!!

  • for sure it will confuse speed limit and traffic enforcers hehehe. if it crashes for sure everyone will be dead hehehe.

  • HELL WITH THE FLYERS LICENSE., IM FLYING MY CAR., and why u haft to GO to the airport?? thas dommy just fly out of u garage., this will be easy for the coyotes now..lol

  • It's a plane with 4 wheels...

  • lmao, "flyers license"

  • omg a flying car with wings? thats stupid and not cool

  • ever hear of the French engineer who tried to invent a perpetual motion machine?

A billiard ball travelling in empty space. If it does not slow down what does that mean? It means that the "ether" in special relativity is no longer a postulate but a fact. The ether does not exist ; was Einstein's postulate

  • Terrafugia "Transition" and Milner have the right idea.

    Wings essential!! VTOL.? No way.

    Not over my back yard.

How about a VTOL M.O.T. (Ministry of Transport ) test every three to six months.

    Try the RAF!

  • Yea sad that "safety" regulations and such prevent so many cool things from becoming a reality. Thanks to all the frivelous lawsuits from stupid scum lawyers and govt. interference

  • Yah we need to launch all the lawyers and nanny state people into the sun or just make them stand in the flame trench when the shuttle is launched.

  • You have one too many wheels. If you have four wheels then you are going to have to have it crash tested, but if you have three wheels, then you will be considered a motorcycle in most states. Crash testing and complying with that will kill this, as it has many others.

  • This car uses fuel 5 times more than a small helicopter.

  • and what if i cross the borders? I don't need airports to land.

  • Check this out:

    - Boeing,

    - Lock Head Martin,

    - AA

    - United

    - Sikorsky

Do you get it? Companies with incalculable amounts of money. Yet you see no efforts from them with their god like experience of controlled manned flight to try to make a personal VTOL air car. WHY IS THAT? Simple.

  • Ah I got it. This is not a VTOL.

    Sorry not interested.

  • What is taking Moller so damn long. He has been doing this for decades and now some new person comes along and does this in a few years.

  • if everyone had one of these the accidents would raise dramaticaly.

  • Flying car!(which doesn't actually fly)

  • well a start is a start . its not the whole thing yet , but noone is perfect in the beggining. especilally when having funding issues.

  • we wont ever have flying cars thanks to Allah.

  • Crikey. That would be cool until I crashed into a tree/mountain/tall dog etc.

  • @cant7think7clearly hehe tall dog

  • that doesen 't fly

  • LOL ot doesn't fly!

  • Thats Fuckin Dope

  • is this a joke its a flying car that doesnt fly

  • This aint a fying car....Its a mini plane with a car shaped cockpit

  • @TheMetcalfeClan i know right this is bullshit

  • eso es un pinche avion que no mamen... cuendo inventen algo parecido a las naves de F-Zero entonces veremos.

  • Many times the software companies get blamed for announcing products BEFORE they are ready for the market. This guy even admits he has nothing more than a shell. Gee, wonder if Microsoft is behind the product.

  • achully sientist say that if they whanted 2 they could make a flying car that can fly and be a road car so yes it can be done in your face erkq

  • 1. What "sientist"? In fact, what IS a :scientist"?? 2. All gasoline automotive engines end up requiring a catalytic converter as part of their emissions package. The FAA would NEVER certify a catalytic equipped engine. Not only that but the catalytic converter would have to be HUGE as aircraft engines typically run at 75% power while cruising. Automotive engines run at maybe 10%. And, that's just the catalytic. You couldn't even hope to BEGIN the FAA certification process with a smog motor.

  • Cannot be done. A certified aircraft engine could never be made to pass automobile emission tests. You can have either/or... not both.

  • Never work as a practical mode of transport

  • Practicality isn't the point, its possibility. Once a feasible model is established, then the process of refinement and eventual production can take place. Try to remember how the early heavy-than-air concept crafts looked and failed until a viable balance between form and function was founded. This is very similar to those early days of aviation, and will hopefully find similar success with time and experimentation.

  • he said all that shit and says it doesn't even fly yet in the middle....

  • I'm sorry that's not a car..its still a plain...

  • What the fuck is 'a plain'?

  • Yea, It's just a roadable airplane.

  • no its jus a short name for airplane but spelt rong

  • Its so big it just looks like a normal smal plane except a steering wheel. How could you get that shit on the street?

  • imagine parking, that would suck... each parking lot would only hold like 10 or 11 of those haha

  • This is a big hoax. Milner has been busy for more than 30 years burning money from investors with the design of a VTOL flying car. Now they have switched to an ordinary design like the Ferugia. What a laugh. Milner will never make a flying car.

  • @midasracer thats moller international. milner is a completely separate company

  • That's sweet!

  • As long as Chinese drivers don't get a hold of them.

    LOL

  • mid-air collisions would be disastrous.

  • this is not going to happen, and we shall not going to take it, we shoud go agenst it, and keep flyingcars in fincion, and do not do it.

  • Engrish?

  • lol XD

  • 1000 miles for that is awesome.

  • anybody can shit out a prototype like this oh god

  • It's not a car, it's a plane with folded wings. It's already been done many years ago. And you need a runaway for this contraption to fly? I want my flying car to have a lift-off of my backyard or on the front of my garage. What if a person wants a flying car but don't have a runaway many mile from his home. Man, forget this, get a mini chopper.

  • What you want is a VTOL

    Or

    A gyro copter.

  • Aaaahahahaha, my minds exactly. You see, it's been done many years ago. So why try harder? The British already made it. All we need is a new and improved flying jet pack that could stay afloat in an hour instead of 25 seconds.

  • This would make an excellent pizza delivery car/airplane!!! lol

  • This guy is in desperate need of a spokes person!!

  • it flyes now!!!

  • Sorry mate but this one wont fly! Not like a propeller driven vehicle (hovercraft) going around in traffic. Imagine those babies in skirts...

  • ha! arrive at school in an airplane would make u so popular

  • why not hang a large helium balloon to it,then everyone can have a lot of fun talking all squeeky to each other.

  • It would be a hilarious way to die!

  • That can kill u

  • good luck parallel parking that shit.

make sude u dont open the wings in the garage

  • Not the way to present this. This is a freakin flyin car dammit! Don't talk about how practical its gonna be. No one is THAT naive. Well, maybe a few.

  • talk about impractical. I have no idea why we are still thinking flying cars are the future haha. like its so pointless, we have shitty traffic and drivers right now, what makes you think that if we all drive flying cars that were going to be better off?

  • you're not. most people wont be any better off, its not a mass transport solution. This is a vehicle for people with lots of cash who need to get from A to B as fast as possible. It has nothing to do with solving traffic jams. The pilots license and purchase price will prevent most people from owning one, and thats a good thing.

  • im not what? lol.. well i certainly understand your points made. just seems a little rediculous

  • ha hahaha

Like the airports are going to allow you to use their runways?

  • of course they will let you use their runways dickhead, if its a certified aircraft and you're a certified pilot they charge takeoff and landing fees, thats how airports mkae their money. This is fantastic news for airport operators.

  • unless we can fly with the need for runways all the flying/hover cars are doomed by over regulation

  • So you have to fly it from an airport to another...airport. Kind of like...a plane. I wonder if people will be allowed to keep these in their garages and they would be able to take off out of their back yards or driveway.

  • Y'know they keep showing and showing this thing but until it freakin' flies they need to shut their mouths. They are building themselves up for an epic fail.

  • your weard

  • so stupid. Without being able to fly its pointless. its just a concept at the mo

  • well gosh. i jus saw it fly on a diffrent website looser

  • Na that was ur mums bra. I unclipped it and it flew out the window

  • Folding wings LOL.... thinking you are investing money in a lost cause. this will never work untile the cars are 100% comp controled. FAA will never allow this many aircraft in the air .

  • how fast can this car drive on the road?

  • si ma dove lo parcheggi sto guaio!

  • an old fart who has inhaled too many farts. manually folding wings on a previous car. how is he going to fly it, with cranes? i don't wanna be discouraging and stuff but, first get some real thing done then come out and say i have done something. he is like my little niece, she makes lego planes and runs up to me - lookey i made a plane. idiot

  • you do realize that aircraft with folding wings isn't unheard of right? the navy does it all the time on their carriers.

  • i think folding wings would be one of the best option we would have to convert a car into plane. I am talking about the substance he has put in this thing to become a plane. just because you put a folding wing on a car it doesn't become a plane. And there is nothing wrong with starting the project with that, but before you give interviews you should have something solid in your hand. He realized that he wasn't gonna get any further then that so he gave interview to get 5 min of fame

  • check out the terrafugia. it's a much better design i think. i'm not sure about the ugly ass bumper. it doesn't look like it could fly without a nose.

  • see now we are talking...I had already seen that one....you are right, its ugly but again you are right it has some innonvation to it...it has actually flew in test ride, now thats condemnable. I am still not sure about them already being sold.... It may be premature but, poor people who are designing are pretty much out of funding.

  • sorry for the spelling mistakes.

  • Hey I'm just stateing the facts. How many jetpacks have you seen flying around your neighborhood? They are not illegal to own.You don't even need a pilots licence to fly them they are concidered ultralights. They are just very expensive to fill for 30 seconds of flight!

  • #1 there are only ONE "fully functioning jetpacks" left the rest have been scraped

#2 jetpacks have only 30 seconds of fuel

    storage!

  • i heard that flying cars are going to start to selling in 2012.

  • rofl

  • I suppose the Wright brothers got the same negative response before their machine made history. As a pilot I see potential in this visionary concept. I see no reason this idea won't work. Good luck !

  • Yeah very wasteful

This is for people with money to burn

They need to take that money and figure out a way to take move an iceberg to drought stricken areas of the world or something like that.

Or they could just give the money to me

  • the jetson's car is waaaay cooler

don't waste the time or money

  • Chrissy can get it.

  • this is dumb

    just plain old dumb

the idea of having a car the that can fly is impractical

just make a car that can hover no more that 4' off the ground

why does it have to "fly"

    Thats way too dangerous.

A family of four on their way to SIX FLAGS dies in a tragic as their flying car lost power and plummeted to the ground.

  • Very ingenious -- and useless!

  • lol the second he said "this one...does not fly" i stopped it . go check out Terrafugia videos, its STARTED (past tense) production last year. and its UNDER 200 thousand dollars to purchase. That's less than most Jaguars, which , by itself, is a ridiculous statement to be able to say.

  • Ok, this is GENOUS but, how the wings go up like that?

What if ur in da middle of flying and the wings go up?

    CRASHHHH

    Not good ;p

  • dont deny the flolding wing setup, locking mechanisms engage when wings are down. lots of planes are like this, including most of the United state Fighter jets!!!

  • Dont deny the folding wing setup, many planes are like this, locking mechanisms are engaged when wings are down, most U.S. fighter planes are like this. it works!!!

  • Publicity stunt or not, there is a definant vision in doing a horizontal take-off car instead of a vertical take off one like Moller has been working on. Unfortunately, as with any airplane, flight stability is going to be an issue. I wonder if this thing has been tested in a 200 mph wind tunnel yet, though.

  • >> I wonder if this thing has been tested in a 200 mph wind tunnel yet, though.

They say in the video they've done wind tunnel tests. They don't say 200 mph, but that tests have been done....

  • this same as a glider.... no use...

  • I never find a video where shows how this thing flyes

  • Going down the auto bahn with the wings tucked up and wings accidently come down and then take off....!!!

  • M400 flies,

    Seeen the vid?

  • Oh My God. On one hand, I think it's genius. On the other hand, since many people seem to have a hard enough time navigating in 2D space, I can't imagine the magnitude of the challenges associated with something like this. Not to mention, It's kind of nice to look up and still see some blue in the middle of all the contrails.

  • lol... a flying car is, in my opinion a vehicle that can be used in everyday traffic. I don´t believe this thing would even be allowed to drive on normal streets. Or start and land on them...

  • he said "drive to your local airport, then land on antoher one, then drive to your destination" ... got it??
