Looks like Zach Wamp was right. The majority of the so-called stimulus package was nothing but a payout to democRAT power brokers.
Look at the economy 9 months later. Our dollar is crumbling in value as the rest of the world LOSES FAITH in our ability to repay our massive debts. Our housing market is still falling apart w/ foreclosures mounting every day and unemployment is getting ready to pass 17 %.
Zah Wamp WAS RIGHT! He said the "porkulus" package wouldn't work and it hasn't worked.
Today's Getting To Know Your Zach: In 2003, after a customary fifteen minute electronic vote was held open for nearly three hours by Republican leaders, Rep. Zach Wamp (R-TN) switched his original 'nay' vote to 'aye' and gave the Republicans a majority of one that they needed to pass the Prescription Drug Act.
Blue Dingo Dog: Well your gonna just love this! On January 5, 2009, Wamp announced that he will be running for Governor of Tennessee in the Republican primaries.
The last repub I heard said that 50% would affect things now, and 50% later and he was against that apparently because the social services couldnt be temp enough though he admits the spending on them would be good now.
I say, lets do 2 things, better the lives of all citizens while putting money into the system, creating a class that can end up paying more taxes which will help to pay back on the debt.
Then in 2 years the rest kicks in to keep the growth coming
Manipulation by the parallel gov't (internat'l bankers) depends on pitting Dem's against Repub.'s. Buying into false party opposition contributes to nat'l confusion. No one reaches a position of power without buying into the parallel gov't agenda. No one.
Watch or read The Creature from Jekyll Island to see how the Fed & $ control determine everything. There's just one party, the money party. Superficial differences on either side are meant to confuse. It's a sobering reality but true.
like all republicans he never met a lie he didn't like... also, the largest transfer of wealth took place during the bush administration -- from poor to rich... so, get your facts right, bub...
The Congressional Budget Office has reported that their study was done on a very small part of the proposed stimulus package. The Repubs keep referring to it as though it covers the entire package - it does not.
Why is ti that the Christy right continues to show such disdain for the truth?
The problem in this country is that too many people have been getting paid way too little, but have still been expected to pay the same expenses we used to, and contribute to the economy like we used to.
Obama wants to put more money in the hands of average people, and to do that, super-wealthy people only need to make mild sacrifices-and it will be better for them in the long run as well.
it's very simple, but greedy people are extremely manipulative, so they make it look confusing.
Hypocrite. You were quiet for the $700 billion wall street deal. And if Bush's tax cuts weren't social engineering WHAT IS! All tax policy is. For a stimulus taxes return $0.90 on the dollar with no direction for it's use..
"Here we go with almost a trillion dollars here, then national health care, then global warming, then a $500 billion dollar transportation bill." 2:12

Backwoods drawl notwithstanding, Wamp is not quite the sharpest tool in the shed. That said, he's probably well-qualified for the GOP braintrust.

<3 when Republicans believe lies because it serves their interest, only to be debunked later.
It reminds me of Ashley Todd.
