Looks like Zach Wamp was right. The majority of the so-called stimulus package was nothing but a payout to democRAT power brokers.

Look at the economy 9 months later. Our dollar is crumbling in value as the rest of the world LOSES FAITH in our ability to repay our massive debts. Our housing market is still falling apart w/ foreclosures mounting every day and unemployment is getting ready to pass 17 %.

Zah Wamp WAS RIGHT! He said the "porkulus" package wouldn't work and it hasn't worked.

The last repub I heard said that 50% would affect things now, and 50% later and he was against that apparently because the social services couldnt be temp enough though he admits the spending on them would be good now.

I say, lets do 2 things, better the lives of all citizens while putting money into the system, creating a class that can end up paying more taxes which will help to pay back on the debt.

Then in 2 years the rest kicks in to keep the growth coming

The Congressional Budget Office has reported that their study was done on a very small part of the proposed stimulus package. The Repubs keep referring to it as though it covers the entire package - it does not.

The problem in this country is that too many people have been getting paid way too little, but have still been expected to pay the same expenses we used to, and contribute to the economy like we used to.

Obama wants to put more money in the hands of average people, and to do that, super-wealthy people only need to make mild sacrifices-and it will be better for them in the long run as well.
