Lol I have the same goggles but anyway can u get the plastic like at minards or homedepot? And could you maybe make a smaller box how to vid because my back yard is small plz respond.
yea i called and there was a long pause and then the guy was like let me transfer you and no one new what i was talking about. how much did you pay for yours?
@SNOWBOARDBOXES Did you use for the coping on these boxes? It looks a bit like flat bar. Did you use stainless, or aluminum? I've thought aluminum sounds to soft for a nice coping, but i've heard peole have had good results with aluminum tube coping.
yes it will but i i have riden mine a few time with no coping and 1/4 inch hdpe and it is fine it does peel of when you hit it with your edge but it will take a while to get all the way throught the plastic
@SpecialEd321 i made a 8ft box. and i bought 1/4 inch hdpe. buy coping. it doesnt have to be expensive. just some 1inch aluminum pipe. the sides of the hdpe get banged up fast.
You can find hdpe at home depot ask for 1/4 inch 4x8 sheet of Aztec wood. It's called Aztec wood but ask them what it's made out of and they will say hdpe. It's around $90.
dude..aztec has HDPE in it but can be used as a top layer. Its pretty much wood with HDPE injected into it. I actually just got some of that stuff put onto my house...and it doesn't really seemed it would slide well. I know that l
screw down a 1/8 inch piece as fiber board then glue your plastic with caulk or some adhesive. Then you don't have to worry about counter sinking shit. and have unexpected screws come up and catch. Accident waiting to happen. Plus use 1/8 inch plexi-glass. Then put your metal corner molding on. rides way smoother like riding on water. Helps you learn how to slide faster. Damn rookie. Good try but you wouldn't so hot in the construction industry.
Sorry that im 15 and tried to be creative. I also have something called a budget and a 1/8" piece of plexi would crack easily in nice -10 degree weather. And a 4' x 8' piece of that plexi glass is just as expensive as my 1/4" sheet of HDPE. I put P-Tex over the screws and scraped it down so that accident would happen. Thanks tho.
that is possibly the stupidest thing i have ever heard in my life an im rlly hoping your not in the construction industry . plexiglass would crack in a second in the cold weather, let alone a sheet thats 1/8 of an inch thick
hey im gonna build a snowboard box and now im just blue printing it so.... i hear HDPE is the way to go for the top and you said the manufacturer was in ann arbor mi and did u go 2 the store or did u order it online and do u know the website
how much did the frame of one of your boxes cost? im planning to just build the frame then put a sheet of hdpe on the top. and is the hdpe easy to cut?
one frame was about $30 (not including the sides). I got the sides from scrap pieces that were lying around my house. I got my HDPE cut at the manufature place so i don't really know. I asked the guy there and he said if you have a table saw it should cut fine. Do you know what size piece of HDPE your getting?
I got it at a local plastic manufacture for $114. The plastic is really flexible. If you ever finish your rollercoaster box you should send a vid of it to me!
I built 2 of them and put them together so their lighter. They feel GREAT! Im planning to make another box this summer and it will different so check it out
i didnt counter sync mine, when i drilled the poly ethylene, so i was hitting it and i was front boarding it and i caught my edge cause the plastic was sticking up where i drilled it and the whole sheet came right off.
was the fish eye really needd for this video?

MrBbobProductions 1 year ago
how do you screw the HDPE in and where did you get the metal sides?
MrAlekz 1 year ago
i always heard 1/2 inch thick because they tent to break, crack or shatter in cold weather when you land hard or somthin
BunnySk8rProductions 1 year ago
I looked at the boxes up here at Sierra At Tahoe in Ca, the HDPE is only 1/4" on top of two sheets ply.
kevbo7s 1 year ago
I HIGHLY suggest UHMW by poly-hi inc. I found it a lot better than HDPE and costs $240 for a 10 by 4 foot sheet.

does anybody know if u can use plexi-glass instead this HDPE stuff?
