  • I stood mesmerised by the videos of steam hauled trains. I remember from 1956 or onwards I used to travel to HWH-DLI-NDLS and NDLS-MAS-CBE and reverse in steam engines... Because of one driver, I became mad about railways and it still carries on at the age of 55 today. No words can convey the sense I am feeling

  • Excellent Video!!!

  • Thanks buddy for bringing up the memories. God bless u.

  • Bring back steam.

  • Some very beautiful footage...thankyou.

  • I worked with two Anglo-Indians one who was a driver on steam and the other a fireman. They told me some good stories about their time on the Indian Railways. They had to leave because they changed the rule book from English to Hindi...They could speak it but not read it....So they came to England and worked on our railways. One is dead now and the other retired. The retired one is a dead ringer for the actor Charles Bronson.

  • excellent video, what if steam engines came back to life..

  • Wonderful to take a look of you great Indian steam trains!

  • Great vid. Love the YP class - 80 on the footplate of a YP felt like 180!!! But they were surprisingly powerful.

  • excellent! I cherish my memories of travelling in a steam engine train - Awadh Express,Kota Passenger from Agra, Sawai Madhopur Expres from Bikaner. I love it. I still at the age of 36 today stop and see and see train whenever it pass. Railway tracks mesmerise me. I loved the train passing through dunes and the sand of thar in the trains. There is no substitute of trains for me.

  • Agreed wholeheartedly. It breaks my heart to see Indian steam die.

  • @Travelindiapress

Me too.. grew up in Thar (Barmer Dist) and have seen the sand blowing whenever the trains would pass.. Indian Railways is the best!!!

  • What kind of music ?

  • Very good!

  • excellent compilation.

  • Alas! Steam locomotives exist only in films and video clips now :(

  • Do not fear, there are lots of heritage and tourist lines nowadays. There are even more that i know of being made that run newly refurbished steam engines! They are hard to find though, but they are surely worth the research.

  • Excellent..very nostalgic

  • Great footage of MG locos...
