  • This man has motivated me in so many ways.

  • Is the music more important than the comments ?

  • Dubois was brilliant!! Read his collected essays titled Dubois on Asia. It still rings true today!! Way ahead of his time!!

  • World War II did not begin in 1917.

  • @ around 6:20 did BuBois immigrate to Africa or was he deported by the U.S. gov? i heard in an American History class i took that duBois, due to his Communist affiliation was forced to go to leave america

  • @HulkonaBitch He left on his own! He was frustrated with America.

  • W.E.B. DuBois is not hero in anyway, because he was just thinking he could do better by uniting Africans than the rest.

When DuBois had his childish rants against Marcus Garvey and Booker T. Washington, this was an example of a man no matter he went to Harvard, was just completely ignorant.

  • @peasah2005

You are by far the most ignorant person, Du bois was THE FIRST COLOURED MAN TO GRADUATE FROM HARVARD. He traveld to expand his mind, his words and actions helped not only unite together colored people BUT also whites as well. He was FIRST AND FORMOST an activist/fighter for equailty and freedom FOR ALL. He will be admired, respected and loved till the end of time. You my friend are no body compared to him, Hell so is everyone else you mentioned.

Du bois IS a hero , he is MY hero

  • @ChilenoPiscean22

I don't give a dam, what you think of me.

It isn't a surprise with your uneducated low life you describe DuBois as so-called coloured?

What does it mean by the way?

DuBois was so bitterly frustrated, because he wanted to been seen as the only one who could so-called unite Africans than anyone else.

I am glad that I don't compare myself with DuBois, because this is a man who only was for civil rights than unite Africans as a whole.

  • @peasah2005

The foundering fathers of Pan-Africanism in my opinion are Edward Wilmot Blyden, Marcus Garvey, Kwame Nkrumah, David Walker, Nat Turner, Jean-Jacquies Dessalines, Carter G. Woodson, Henry Sylvester Williams, Henry McNeil Turner, Martin Delaney, Nnamdi Azikiwie, Bantu Steve Biko, Henry Highland Garnet, Chris Hani, Patrice Lumumba, Robert Mugabe and Walter Rodney.

  • @peasah2005

Another pisces said it best , Albert Einstein " Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence" YOU are MEDIOCRITY, and you look at du bois with such opposition because you hate to see such an AMAZING man being reconized and loved by so many, because he tried to unite only africains? Please.

  • @ChilenoPiscean22

At the end of the day, know one gives a shit what a useless, medicore person like you thinks of a great spirit like du bois. His life and work speak for itself, His legacy will not be tarnished nor forgotten. You on the other hand are forgettable, your thought that people actually listen to you is amusing. What have you accomplished? what are your accolades? What legacy are you creating? Im sure the answer to all three is NOTHING. Thats why you try to bring down DUBOIS.

  • @ChilenoPiscean22

    What do you know?

You can manipulate others, but with me, your wasting your time completely.

  • @peasah2005

So your mad because you think DU bois was so egotistical, that he wanted to be idoloized or take sol responsibilty for uniting people? I assure you he was no where near being that person. Pisceans DO NOT crave attention, nor do they want to be idolized.

You call me uneducated yet your english and grammer are laughable.

Your asking me what it means to be a coloured person? are you serious?

Did you ever think he focused on the MOST vunerable inorder to lift them up?

  • @ChilenoPiscean22

Well, chico boy, I can spell and make more sense than you.

    Go and screw upside down.

  • @peasah2005

HAHA thats all you got? a response on my spelling hahaha...

It must feel real bad to face reality.

  • @ChilenoPiscean22

Well, I have a lot to offer than you chico, but your worthless time can never mine.

  • Great man of haitian decent!!! Did alot for african-americans.

  • Did anyone know that this man sold out marcus garvey. The white folks put in front of an organization called the naacp which was founded by a jew.

  • You are correct. He was not a saint, and he outgrew the NAACP too: his was not a perfet life.

  • @seker4me i meant to leave you the message i left to myself he tried to apologize to marcuz garvey but he didnt except it. We should that to al sharpton jessie jackson

  • @nappyg1 yep he try to apologize to marcus garvey but he wouldnt except it. This is the same way we should do al sharpton and jessie jackson

  • @nappyg1 Yeah, we had to unite with them, and and some years later, because they were kicking all of our asses

  • @Jamaari20 and we still are getting our behinds kic but you are correct

  • @nappyg1 Yes, but I think he made up for that when he realized what he was doing, he left the country and moved to Ghana... he fulfilled a dream of Marcus Garvey, a real tribute

  • @jawhara2013 but I believe the damage was done

  • Very beautiful and inspirational video, set to a great song from Coltrane. Thank you very much for sharing.

  • Everybody forgot about The Honorable Booker T Washington who Marcus Garvey got his knowledge from. Jamaicans dont acknowledge The Honorable Booker T Washington Jamaicans erased him and callin Marcus Garvey The Lion of Liberation this is a lie.

  • There were many voices, remember. Du Bois and Washington were one generation of activists. Garvey was a disciple of Washington and a virulent hater of Du Bois. But there was also Edward Wilmot Blyden, Tiyo Soga and others who were voices in the world.

  • @Aktarin

DuBois had a pure scorn against Garvey and not the other way round.

DuBois was involved in the disgusting deportation against Marcus Garvey.

Garvey was inspired by Booker T. Washington despite he passed away when Garvey was meant to meet him, but DuBois, he was just out of control.

  • This was great

  • OMG under my favs! I was born Feb 23 1985.This was the only famous pisces with my birthday on a website, so i checked him out and we are clones! Du Bois was an amazing man worthly of high admiration.I Strive to be as good as him for my time and era, I feel we must now be equal as a whole, not blacks whites, latinos etc. We need to move forward as the human race,we are still being held back by our way of thinking provided by those who mean to harm us.We must break free of all shackls and blossom.

  • i have read it. i agree with you. i was just being an ass earlier.

  • yes and one of the best public speakers, I have ever heard, the man could sell ice in Antartica.

  • The father of Pan-Africanism

  • are you sure?

  • i have a right to my opinon and i meant to give your ass a thumbs down, anyone who get a response from this dude, just give him a thumbs down.PEACE DON'T HAVE TIME FOR IGNORANTS.

  • wow, you don't have to get so defensive. My question wasn't posed as an insult. I just wanted to know if you could support your claim.

  • i thought marcus garvey was the father of pan-africanism

  • He was a strong voice for it, yes. Edward Wilmot Blyden and W.E.B. Du Bois are considered fathers of Pan-Africanism with Garvey, however. Blyden was first, then Du Bois, then Garvey.

  • @NkrumahTure he came late to the pan-africanism world////

  • It is his contribution to Pan-Africanism that is important, not whether he was late to it or not. That's too petty a point to quibble over, don't you think?

  • @NkrumahTure yes////

  • WISE MAN HE WAS!

  • what makes you say that?
