We took a bus from PP to Ang Tasom - Kep is about 109 km from that town. From Phnom Penh, you can make a two day trip out of it by stopping over in Chhuk. This gives you the chance to take a few of the backroad routes (and eat delicious BBQ in Chhuk!).
