Hey Mr. Pink I'm stoked you're talking about this subject, it's my TOTAL Mantra for 2010! I've been taking action to see people in person and it's actually becoming very inspiring to my circle of friends. I'm also shooting them on video so at the end of the year I can make a video photo album and link them all via youtube.

For me the internet is my way of keeping up with everyone. Because of my family, location, and the different interests that my wife and I share I never get out to see my friends. I hate it. :(

yes, some prints are basically photos of the original ... and can be the mass produced thing you speak of, but also is something emerging and beginning artists often do on a very small scale ... as well, genuine printmaking can actually be a pretty distinct and original art form ...

i think if you are the kind of person who needs to reach out to people then the digital way can become appealing cos you basically have a much wider pool from which to find people who you identify with. in the real world, maybe those people are harder to find...
