Acer Extensa 5620-4020 Refurbished Notebook PC

I've had my 5620z for 3 years........have upgraded the memory to 3gb with win7; only complaint i've had is the LCD back cover is cracked...due to the hinges....other than that i love my laptop!!

This laptop is terrible,the processor is shit,the cheapest version of this laptop has only 80GB of HDD and 1GB of RAM,the screen is very bad,I could better spend 50 more euro to buy an Acer Aspire One than this piece of crap,it can't even run a 2D game,Terraria crashed everytime on it,and flash games are still terrible to run on this,this laptop freezes all the time and this laptop had Vista which is a joke,if you want a good business laptop,stick with HP laptops.

Could anyone please tell me if this laptop will run Deus ex Invisible war? It seems to run GTA:VC, Halo CE, Postal 2, and Sims 2 fine. i just really want to be sure before i go out and spend money on something that might not work.

Guysss .. its rubish .. i have it for 2 years .. and i had so many problems with itttt !!! Batteries died so fast , charger changed for 3 times , and nowww it gives me bios beep^codes ... so fucked up !!! I would never EVER buy an acer product !!

I'm using this at the moment,but it doesn't seem to be game-friendly(playing very old games like Americas Army 3 and Command & Conquer Generals).

It's super-tough though,it's been through hell and the baseplate is falling off,but it still does the job.

I actually have this laptop too (I'm on it right now), and I really like it. The only thing is, I haven't been the gentlest with it and unfortunately my B key broke. I'm currently searching for a new key. But I think if you take care of it, it will last you for quite awhile. I haven't had any hardware issues whatsoever, and I've had it for almost a year.

Well, those are in a different category. Not to mention those are 3-4x more expensive. People that buy this laptop won't be looking for current games.

I will be getting a Dell XPS 16 next month though and I'm on the laptop right now. Alienware doesn't have that good of build quality. Dell XPS is a crotch-roaster, I'll just have to put up with that :P

Bleeb Bloop you couldn't be more wrong about alienware for one they produce the best computer available and they were one of the first to have quad core laptops. But i admit alienware is not for the poor, the laptops theey sell can have a 12 gb ddr3 ram intel core 2 extreme 3ghz overclocked 12mb cache

and a sli gtx 280m 2gb graphic card. I can ensure you no other laptop producer has that.

I can argue with you there (unless your referring computer as laptops). Falcon NW Mach V is a much better DESKTOP computer Alienware can match. However, building your own desktop is better (or worse, depends) because you can save more money for the same thing OR spend the same amount for a better rig.

i tried both the falcon and alienware site and customized 2 exactly alike computers one alienware and one falcon they had all the same gear, except for the casing and while the alienware cost 5400 dollars the falcon cost 6519 dollars... alienware offers better :) plus i like their accessories alot better

I didn't say Alienware wasn't powerful. I said the build quality was poor. Do you know what build quality is? It is the actual physical casing. The M15x has notorious hinge issues, a floppy screen, a flexy keyboard, and it overheats. The M17x is freaking 11LBs with a grill.

Dell has superior build quality. Just because Dell bought out Alienware, doesn't mean Alienware is better. Dell just wanted a series for super gaming notebooks.

Great laptop once you upgrade to 2GB of ram (on vista)!. You need to upgrade the drivers for the intel x3100 to add shader support ect...

No, it doesnt even have a proper dedicated video subsystem.

If you want to play games you're better off with a nice cheap box that you can build for as little as AU$900 or grab yourself a dell xps m1330; really light, decent performance.

You'll find gta will chug a ton on pcs tho piss poor port of a game, cod 5 will be more forgiving though as I've seen it run on old P4s coupled with a 6800GS.

Not true. Acer may have little problems, but it's not that bad. It's probably b/c you downloaded stuff on your Acer laptop that you weren't supposed to. I've had my Acer for 1 year and 3 months.

I think it's the Vista that's causing the problems.

You can assign any program or website (for example, Gmail) to the buttons.

Acer isn't a gaming brand. They are made for the average user who doesn't want outlandish designs and colors like hot pink with graphite silver outlining..lol they want a laptop that is either computer black or or something that doesn't make you stick out but doesn't put you to sleep. Acer does a nice job with their designs and button lay outs and flashy lights and drives. Go Acer. They have grown into a really big company.
