Its been a long time. Around 30 years. I'm not that good. It's just Open G magic making that sexy sound. I just love how Keith Richard plays guitar....
you have to know when to play the chords and when to pick notes of the chords to get the lead sound and it looks like rams was in the c# scale doing some fine picking
Yes, that's it. Mine is a Redondo model too. I bought it from one of my friends 15 years ago. It's a pretty good and beautifull accoustic guitar. I tried to find something that talk about this model over the internet and I found nothing else than a Redondo on sale at ebay (it's not yours by any chance) :-)
My guitar has around 21 years but still has a good sound. I like this guitar very much. You found nothing on the internet about it probably because its from a time where there was no internet at all :-) I'll be keeping mine for several years more :-). You are a really good guitar player btw. Take care. :-)
hi! very well played , for the guitar part! it does just rest to sing! i've always have thought that if you play with the author's CD, you can' t bring your "touch" to the song, and if it's to try to play exactly like the author, he will always play it better than the others, so I don't really see the interest: but good job for the guitar!
Hey, I just got my first guitar and I hope that I'll be able to play this tune some day. I love the Stones. It sounds so awesome coming from your guitar. Anyway, I still watch this video just about everyday. Did you teach yourself to play?? Did you just play this by ear?? Which ever way I love it.
Yes i taught myself. Practicing is the key. I also bought some books with chords, etc. For this song i heard the music and then tried to lift the licks just by ear.
OMG! I'm SOOO inspired, just watching you. My friend shared your "Honky Tonk Women" clip and now I can't wait to see more of your playing! I've subscribed!!! :o)
Yeh, man, great playing - you got the riffs and the feel - I dunno if this is in open G, keith is so damn sly sometimes it's hard to tell - I thought is was standard, but you make it sound right here, and I still can't get it exactly - gonna lift some of your licks and see if it sounds better :-))
Beast of burden is a song that can be seen as a series of dialogs between 2 guitars having the rhythm section in the background. Playing it solo is very dificult. Maybe this is why you don't find that many covers as a one man show out there. Let me see if i can find some time and come out with my interpretation which may not be exactly what the Stones do. If i find the time i'll post it here. Grobn plays it very well and he gave some ideas.
The fact that you filmed yourself live and for the first time ever hearing this song, and spontaniously realizing each melody change as you are listening to the song is very applaudable.
im learning some tunings before work today. found out my tuners problem. no batteries came with it. Tuned to open G and sounds very harmonic. must try out some rolling stones now :D
grobn thanks for your comment. Actually i'm playing in open G. Does it change anything in your comment regarding B chord? Do you play this song in standard tuning? I don't know excatly how the stones play it but i bet it's open G because the sound i get is very similar :-)
I think the opening riff is in standard tuning. It goes B/E/B/C#m, and I see you have to substitute an F# note for the second B chord. And because your 1st string is down a step, you play C#m7, which doesn't sound right. The B to E is a full chord hammer-on, BTW, not a slide. Hope that helps. Maybe I'll try to do a video sometime.
finally i was able to post a comment:) this is simply amazing..you've got the touch;)put some more! when i see how you play i want to work even more on my guitar playing;p btw.thanks for commenting.
fuck I wish my bottom string didnt break lol I dont have spare one so I cant play this song atm and I'm hangin too

what tuning did you use? this is pretty good.
cartoonistkid001 2 years ago
Thanks. i used open G, although the original version is played in standard tuning. I was discovering the joy of open tuning and so decided to use it.
ramses4321 2 years ago
impressed with the playing good job
DewbCannon 2 years ago
it's well done but your guitar is a little bit out of tune. great job
melkichou 2 years ago 5
have you heard about open tuning? i think what you say "out of tune" is the open tuning effect. sometimes your ears need to get used to it.
ramses4321 2 years ago
Do you use scales for the improvising?
I'm trying to imitate the way you played that song.
Its actually coming along well, and cause of your video, something has resparked my will to practice more.

do you think you can teach us how to play that?

i wish people could write tabs like how you play, then I would be able to actually learn something other than power chords :D

That should be a B chord, not an Eb, in the beginning that changes to an E. Good chops, though, well done.
