  • You know a society is on it's last legs when it's people believe it cruel to stimulate their animals, instead of letting them die from overeating. All domestic animals were created by humans to serve a purpose, without purpose animals become redundant.

  • It never fales to amaze me how many people think this sport is abusive. The dogs love to do this. They like the training they get lots of exercise. And love to compete on competition tracks

  • Holy cow that's one tuff jack russle

  • I love this I have a JRT, and never thought of this even though I train my Pit Rot mix in weight pulling....

  • @JRTkid It'stail can't wag since it's so focused. Ever notice how a cat enjoys hunting but doesn't pur while at it?

  • Animal cruelty, to be sure. JRT is not Husky, tho the owner wants one, "hurry hurry HURRY!!" I feel sick when watching it.

  • OMG!!!! go down on your fucking knees bitch and pul!!!! FASTER BITCH FASTER!!! stupid cow!

  • Hercules of the dog world! So strong for such a small dog!

  • @JRTkid it's healthy for dogs! do you see you smiling running a mile or lifting weights? i didn't think so so shut up!

  • it's not a person doing push ups! its a dog pulling bricks SHUT UP LADY!!! JUST CALL HIM NORMALLY!!!!

  • Other than the screaming handler, I like the video. The dog clearly wants to please.

  • Don't know anything about the sport, but the doggie is gorgeous. In any case, I would imagine that it makes for good exercise for the pooches.

  • Tierquäler!echt abartig!!

  • gotta love the strength and engagement this dog has got....also it shows the world, that the sport is for other races than pits and staffies...the average dog owner can buy a harness and start training...:-)

  • Ihr habt doch nicht mehr alle Latten am Zaun..

Meint ihr echt dem Hund macht das Spaß??

  • AMAZING!!!! hats off Squiggy!!!

  • that was fantastic

  • i believe its the strongest JRT in the world. jajaja i love this sport!

  • That's sick! Hate those kind of people!

  • wow...

  • Great pull! I didn't know that they pulled Jacks. What a great outlet for for all of that energy and drive!

  • STRONG for a JRT

  • Thats the coolest jack ever. Mine likes spring poles. They shure are crazy dogs :)

  • my dogs do canine pulling too. they love it. its a job for them. they were bred to work and as the years went on people didnt give them jobs...hence built up energy and dog fights. give a dog a job and they are happy and tired...mentally and physically. anyone who sees something wrong with this is completely ignorant. the dog is not being forced is it. it has 45 seconds to pull and if it cant it wont. simple as. fair play to him.

  • OMG. stupid folks. let the owner pull the truck around not the poor dog.

  • Okay, let me guess... you have an overweight dog that rolls off the couch with you daily after watching TV with it.

  • @Agiledog22 lol its so funny and cute watching its short legs trying to pull a heavy load.

  • @crniliner ya crniliner i hAVE a Jack russel terrier his name is Beavis, and let me tell you he would love nothing more than to do that, these dogs have so much more energy than some one with your pee brained IQ could ever figure out. and just a question for the person who made the video...how much weight was that?

  • @codose I have JRT too. my dog loves to pull stuff but, this is too much. this is like you would pull a car or truck. this is not normal, sorry.

  • @crniliner id pull a trucfk it would be sweet

  • @crniliner this is a great way for dogs to let of energy. i have never seen a jrt weight pull b4 but its cuuute! i have 2 apbts. (american pit terriers) they literally have non stop energy for days. i work them for hours each day and they still always wnt to go. tha only decent way i can drain them of their energy is to weight pull them. trust it takes a long time to get them good. u cant just start off with a few hundred or thou lbs u start off light. harness is made for comfort. they LOVE it!

  • @crniliner obviously u cant see that this is a sport?

  • great pull JRT!! all dogs run on a if wont pull i wont pull simple. both mine love to pull. so peeps saying its cruel i take it your dogs are fat not fit!!

  • What a fantastic outlet for all that JRT energy!

  • probably 16 pounds of pure muscle

  • OMG, learn more about the doggy sport before commenting iney89. Dogs that do not pull simply will not pull for owners that they do not have a bond with. Weight pull is a sport that proves to owner that dog would do they type of sport for their owners for different reasons 1) They love the interaction they receive with their owners. 2) They wish to please their owners and have something that does now 3) Gets them off the couch on weekends so that they do something together.

  • @Agiledog22

    thank you

  • OMG!!!! The poor dog!! How can you do with a dog?

  • @iney89 no dog would do something like that if they did not want to that dog looks very happy to me and i am a professional dog trainer

  • It never fails to amaze me what the emotional neediness of some dog owners will lead them to put their animals through!

  • That was a great pull Congrads to the little guy and for those that think this is abuse believe me if the dog doesn't want to pull they will shut down and not pull

  • i didn't know jacks did weight pull, what an amazing pup! i think there would be more happy jacks and happy jack owners if they knew this was an option, those guys have so much energy!

  • JRT need exercise like these, they're so full of energy! no it's not abuse or cruelty. the dogs love it when they have something to do! it's only abuse or cruelty is you dont walk them, or dont give them somthing to do and just smother them with love all the time! they get temperamental.

  • Fukin strong dog look at his muscles

  • Great dog.

Keep up working with the dog

A working dog is a happy dog.

  • dog actually like "working out"...as humans do(or should)...you should do some research

  • oh sorry - I did not realise your name was Dr Doolittle - - you can talk to the animals - get out, you people make me sick.

  • Comment removed

  • your ignorance makes me sick, read a book or something.

  • eat shit

  • no you have it - your need is greater than min

  • Squiggy is a awesome dog!!!

  • You must have one heck of a time walking her :D

  • man these ppl.. with there "oh its just sposed to be your friend and lay around the house all day attitude"..lol makes me sick...my dogs get depressed when they dont work for a couple of weeks..i mean damn almost everyone you know has a job.. I go to work everyday to feed them..lol I love my dogs but they have a job to do just like me..and I can guarantee you they love thier job a whole lot more than me.. PLAY>>COMPANIONSHIP>>WORK>>COMPETE WIN>>

    BLOCKHEAD KENNELS

  • wow JRT is pulling !! Great :)

  • weight pulling is a very good sport for many dogs! it doesnt hurt them and it burns energy! and that dog was awsome!

  • That woman is my mother, a very sane wonderful woman. I'm sure your mother taught you the saying "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" Utilize that, love not hate. Many blessing to you and your family sane or un sane

  • lol... this is very good for dogs! (im not kidding) when my dog lays around the house i take her outside, put on my roller blades, and she pulls me very, very, very, very, very, fast! faster than i want to go. she even takes me up the hill to the park lol! and after that she wants to do more!!!! :D nice video1

  • SHE WAS SERIOUS

  • oh my god... good dog!!! lol

  • Cruel? As long as the dog is fully grown, in good health, and is not hurting, there's nothing wrong w/ that. Most dogs enjoy doing hard work.

  • That seems cruel. Plus if someone screamed at me like that, I would bite them.

  • What an ignorant comment.

  • Its not cruel its a dogs nature to run, bark jump, bark, pull, bark and bite and bark ... and bark some more.

Especially if its a Jack Russel!

What do you think they see when there after that stick? They see a that the hunt is on !

Any healthy dog would bloody love doing this - its hunting. dont forget that they are pretty aggressive creatures !

  • dogs nature? Strange have never seen neither wolves or wild dogs pull anything this way O_o And how can u talk about hunting next to THIS? ´dont forget that they are pretty aggressive creatures ! ´ yeah if they´ve been badly handled by humans! we could say the same thing about wild horses being aggressive creatures! :D

  • that comment made my day!

    cruel xDDD

YOU would be cruel not to work your high-energy dog such as JRT's ^^

Jefrma, weightpulling has NOTHING to do with hunting.

  • teyen112 WELL SAID!!! I breed and show them. I think my dogs would love this!!! I'm sure that jack felt so accomplished when she crossed that line! And a jack russell with no job is a very miserable one.

  • you can't force, beat, or otherwise abuse an animal into pulling. they've got to do it out of their own enjoyment.

  • @corvaxxx JRT love doing stuff like this. They love going beyond their limits.

  • @wsimpson86 I get the impression that it is a group trait of terriers, yeah?

  • Tierquelerei und sonst nichts, gehört veboten sowas!!!!!!!

  • This seems like abit too much to make a jrt pull? I don't know enough about their limits strength-wise, but it sure sounds like abit too much for those small muscles and joints. And also, the screaming from the lady was not too good, she could've used a much more positive tone of voice while still being eager and pushing the dog, instead of making sounds that made her sound angry and threatening. That JRT does not have that enjoyable, excited look like almost every JRT has.

  • Cruelty? That JRT probably loved all this.

  • Great job for the JRT

  • double lol

  • no one was pushing. someone holds a chain or rope to keep the "sled" from hitting the dog when it stops

  • OMG!!! That is sooo awesome. I'm getting my harness in a few weeks!

  • I have a jrt mix and today he got his chain tangled around a 2x4, and he just pulled it around the yard like there wasn't anything there. I never thought about weight pulling, but when I saw him doing that I thought I should look into it. Looks like your dog enjoys it a lot. I think we may get into it!

  • is that a jackrussel?...now that clip shows the terrier power...best dogs on the planet...i have a pit...

  • that is my mommy! yay!! and just to let you all know im shannon her daughter a peta member and activist, squiggy was not forced to this, she did it out of love. you show that dog a harness and she gets crazy excited and ready to pull. =)

  • it's called a conditioned response...sort of when you wave a donut in front of a fat girl she will start salivating.

  • If she is a Peta member she should know that 1)Peta is against the breeding of purebred dogs and 2) Peta is against dog sports of any kind

  • 3) Peta funds euthanization instead of adoption programs

  • jacks are mini pit's no joke you get a thicker jrt and they are extremely strong for their size!

  • my hampter could pul that and he only has 3 legs

  • lol i think not fucking snartass

  • LOL

  • my jack pulls it without the wheels

  • yea right fakeass bitch

  • take it easy, it was a joke

  • WOAHH!!!!!

  • That is just amazing! I do weight pulling with my GSDs and this is just a wow factor! Way to go!

  • lol that ladie scard the f***ing shit out of me. I really dont get this whole weight pulling thing

  • at least the dog was doing it willingly.

  • a dog will willingly do wat it is taught

  • yea thats true but some dogs like it and they probaly had someone behind the thing pushing

  • I guess weight pulling is not for the faint of heart.

  • thats cruel he could break his back!

  • I would like to break yours.

  • nice i want to teach ma jrt that

  • WTH..... WTF! I love JRT but that was wickedly cool dude!!!! Go Dog Go!

  • SHUT UP U FREAKIN LADY!!!! STFU

  • amazing

  • lady was a looney .

  • SH!T. that dogs beast. thats cool, but doesnt that hurt the dog? looks like it would put a lot of strain on him

  • No strain at all! the harnesses are designed to distribute the weight evenly over the chest and shoulders, strongest part of the dog. Most dogs love it.

  • Why you don't pull that weight by yourself ?

    Poor little dog !!!

  • some humans do pull that much weight idiot. that would be like telling a human to stop weight training.

  • actually, this is a form of compitition I just found out... It goes back to the huskies and such pulling sleds and other things. Fright dogs, they were called.

  • sad

  • Poor dog, i wasn't surely glad of this situation.

  • That is awesome!! If they like to pull, let em pull! All that muscle + compact frame = weight pull powerhouse. Squiggy ROCKS!

  • LOL what a awesome little dog!

  • This is amazing, you must have a dedicated little dog there.

Great way to train a headstrong puppy, most dogs love making the owner happy.

  • but is the dog happy.

  • I never said she wasn't, I've owned working breeds all of my life and know that the dogs are more than happy to do these kinds of things.

Terriers are the same way, they love work and they love to make their owner happy.

  • thats a jack russel for ya they can do it because they dont think their german shepards

  • Awesome. I found this amazing. Despite the PETA replies (HOW DARE U!!11!!), it takes a lot of muscle for a small dog to achieve something a bigger one can do.

    Thumbs up!

  • talk about wow!!!!!!!!

  • That is amazing, that ust be 100 times her body weight.

  • Try 136 times her body weight.

  • very impressive, how much weight was that

  • 2,182 pounds was the weight that Squiggy pulled that day. We all were impressed.

  • What a cute a powerful dog! I plan to get a staffie and train him in Weight Pulling. I saw another JRT on Harnesses by Carol, cute thing to see a little dog with such power. :)

  • rep va i live in va and i wanna get my dogs into weight pull

  • You are the kind of people that just puts their dog in the house, feeds it and pets it once in a while. Dogs, especially herding/hurting breeds, need a job. They crave it.

  • never had a jack russel but i heard from owners that there super active and need lots of attention to burn out that energy. but very nice dog

  • that is really kool I have a 57lb pit that is only pullling just over 4500 so good work.

  • Squiggy would never bite it's owner and handler. The dog does the pulling because that it what pleases the owner and isn't that what a dog is meant to do. Give them a job and if they are happy with that job, then you continue to do so.

  • Cruel !

I hope that dog bites you for making it risk injury like that

  • Speaking from personal experience, I see less injuries resulting from weight pull than from other sports like agility and frisbee. My dog has been weight pulling "pro" since she was 14 months with no injuries. On the other hand, she jumped for a toy and hurt her leg. Our vet actually said the sport was good for her, because the exercise helps keep her lean.

  • I think I got to see Squiggy pull at the IWPA Nationals in '05 up in Kalkaska? (My girl Loki pulled in the under 60 class. She was very green and didn't do too well, but it was nice to get the invite.) Emma, the terrier breeds are some of the best choices for pulling because they've got the grit to not give up when it gets hard.

  • Free world for you to speak your mind, but you don't know the dog or the person handling the dog. This dog is one of the best pulling small dog that our area in VA has ever seen. The dog must have the heart to pull and this dog does it in this video. She has the muscle to do this job as well if you are able to see her in person.

  • that dog is not enjoying this. Jack Russells are bred to run after rabbits and not to pull massive weights!!! you should be ashamed of yourself. As a jack russell breeder i find this footage extremely upsetting!!

  • You shouldn't be breeding Jack Russells if you don't believe they're a working breed, emmaloveday1. It is YOU and people like you that should be ashamed. Go breed rabbits or cats and leave the working terriers to real people.

  • Not sure of what you mean dead sled? And Squiggy is a she not a he. Girl power

  • What can he dead sled?

  • WOW nice!
