I use a lot of different things. But like i have always said, if your tools are cutting good and you know how to cut good, then you don't need color. A lot of people use black ice and other cosmetics because they CAN'T get a crisp line without it. I can get a crisp line reguardless of what i use because i can use a razor and my tools are in great condition.

personally like alex said, you don't need it once you get the right tools and learn to use them to the full potential, however, black ice and products such as bigen are good for customers who do request a more animated looking hairstyle, and black ice is especially good when not overused to give someone with a weak or slightly receeding hairline a stronger more fuller finish

I have a whirl on the top corner of my head, and when I'm cutting it I have to pull the guard back to cut less, about halfway and then I follow the direction of the whirl and all goes well. Hope that helps!

on a reg taper , the lowest blade you'll use to start out for ur guideline is a 1/2 guard, and knock out the final line at the lowes part of the blend below the ear u can flick or graze it out with no guard but with the lever set at the longest cut, with a bald taper u start ur outline with no guard and the lever set at lowest position, then when done blending it all in, u can knock out final line towards bottom of blend by grazing it out with ur t-edgers,jus don't hold them flat

I like wahl, andis and conair. I don't razor the sides or back, i use my trimmers. The razor in the video is a double edge razor.

The blade makes the line last a few days longer. I can line with the blade only or the trimmer and the blade together. You can set the line with the trimmers and then finish with the blade.

on the line ups, it's always best to use the t-edgers than the str8 up razor to get the peach fuzz in order to acheive that crispness, if a barber is real cold wit it, he won't even have to go over the line wit the clippers a second time

are shadow fades normally a high fade? when i asked my barber to give me a shadow fade with the top kept just the way it is, the end result looked more like a buzz cut. didnt see much of the blending.

The actual fading has nothing to do with if it is shadowed or not. Shadow just means leaving a very light shadow of hair on the head. A fade can be faded high or low even if it is shadowed or cut bald on the sides. Tell him to leave some hair on the sides(light shadow) and fade it in with the top(leave the top full/thick/dark)

Yes. Tools and technique are 2 different things. Once you learn the technique you can use any type of tools.
