Just saw the film. Most of it was inspirational. I was disappointed with the personal injection of what the director thought was important to him. The butchering of a cow was totally un·nec·es·sar·y. If it included butchering of a lamb or a chicken or hunting endangerd species and there was an actual reason for putting it in I might not have objected but to use this one scene with no context it was too personal a comment and disappointing in what other wise was insperational.
Lighten up. Kevin takes snippets of life and makes it a whole thought....an entity. He does the lion's share of the work. Each person shares a few minutes. Out of all the clips, he estimated about 450 clips made it in, with one person's submission appearing four times.

The point is just to get different perspectives on life from different types of people all over the world. You don't need a movie camera, either. There are plenty of inexpensive good digital cameras out there.

I think the upload process could have been a little clearer. Hope I did it right. Uploaded to my site, then the video shows up on the life in a day submit module, highlight that video, answer questions, hit submit, get confirm message :)
A beautiful truth occurred to me. The Internet is not exclusive. Youtube is basically one giant 'life as media' database, So what would be the point of a contest? Everyone has equal opportunity (every Life-In-A-Day video uploaded will be seen by millions of people around the world) .....regardless of which films are selected to be screened in front of a small group of people at some festival.

I tried to post my video to life in a day, even posted a comment that it would not go on and no one contacted me to help so I lost out! What kind of thing is that?
The upload info does not load unless you are using Google Chrome. If you are looking at the box above the video and there is just a bar across it saying "Loading" then you are not seeing the whole thing.
Google Chrome is not available for my Mac OS, I had to download it through Firefox on my old PC. Then you see all the Flash and instructions and Submit.
If you go to YouTube through a different browser there is a link on the top right to download Google Chrome. Install that to submit.
Today is July 25, 2010. I just found out about this project; I am so sorry I missed it! Maybe you can do "Life In a Day" again for those of us who did not know?

The video must be filmed today, however you have until 31/07 to submit it!. It is kind of difficult but not impossible to submit. I was able to submit it on my 3th attempt. Best of lucks for all!.

A beautiful truth occurred to me. The Internet is not exclusive. Youtube is basically one giant 'life as media' database, So what would be the point of a contest? Everyone has equal opportunity (every Life-In-A-Day video uploaded will be seen by millions of people around the world) .....regardless of which films are selected to be screened in front of a small group of people at some festival.

You will not be eligible to submit Videos to be considered for inclusion in the Film if you are:
· a resident of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Myanmar/Burma, Syria, or any other U.S. sanctioned country; so not global ha!
it is in TOC. so if you are from those countries I think you should go..... yourself. regardless of how much you put time for this ...... project.

i think people will be uploading their lives from July the 24th through the 30th since they have until 31st to submit it. its not like their gonna find out the actual recorded date. im just saying..

The upload info does not load unless you are using Google Chrome. If you are looking at the box above the video and there is just a bar across it saying "Loading" then you are not seeing the whole thing.
Google Chrome is not available for my Mac OS, I had to download it through Firefox on my old PC. Then you see all the Flash and instructions and Submit.
If you go to YouTube through a different browser there is a link on the top right to download Google Chrome. Install that to submit.

I had a go at this... untill I realised I had to be 18 to upload it. Great. A days worth of filming and It comes to nothing :P.

this is stupid because people make documentaries everyday. they can just watch old news clips or read articles online. technology is so advanced now that july 24, 2010 doesn't need a time capsule. people won't care what happened yesterday anyways. nothing cool ever happens anymore. when they can do whatever they want in 50 years i doubt anyone will want to watch this shit. i'd be out riding my hover bike or some shit.

The video must be filmed today, however you have until 31/07 to submit it!. It is kind of difficult but not impossible to submit. I was able to submit it on my 3th attempt. Best of lucks for all!.
