the constitution is worthless...clinging onto it like a holy book won't accomplish anything. rights don't come from god nor gov't. rights are not 100% defined since the contitution itself had to be amended 17 different times, one of which was because the founding father just so happened to forget that blacks and minorities were people too and even then they still forgot about women. other countries also have constitutions. instead of pushing this document, ppl should learn to respect each other.

If you feel that the Constitution is worthless than why do you not find another country to live in? I would suggest Venezuela, Cuba, Pakistan, China, North Korea, Iran.

Where did you do your constitutional studies?

Who are YOU to tell others to respect each other when you do not do so?

I never said those countries were better to live in. I just think that clinging to and relying on a piece of paper to tell us how to treat other people is a waste of time. if we really cared about people's freedoms, we would give it to them without a constitution. the fact that minorities and women couldn't vote until it was "constitutional" for them to do so proves my point. I'll respect everyone's right to say what they want but it doesn't mean i'm not going to call out bullshit when i see it.

The reason the Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution is to prevent what is happening in our country today. It is not just "a piece of paper". They were well thought out, talked about, argued about, etc.

You need to do yourself a favor and pick up the book "The 5,000 Year Leap" so that you will have a better understanding of the U.S. Constitution and what it stands for.

Oh, and by the way, the biggest share of other countries, if not all, have their own constitutions - are they all B.S. too?

yes...if we bothered to update things as society progresses, i wouldn't care as much. but the fact that people continue to bitch about the same rules that were written before modern society shows they are unwilling (and unable) to adapt. other countries are able to adapt. we aren't. but thats no surprise since most on the right want us to return to the bronze age. society changes and adapts. thats the way it is. writing something doesn't prevent anything. if it did, innocent ppl wouldnt be dead

From a non-partisan historian of Constitutional liberties bestowed to Americans & the philosophical/Literal meaning of America from the founding 'til present, I do not take any cues from Glenn Beck nor have I watched his show. But what I do know is this, this country has strayed far from it's roots and has been headed in the wrong direction for decades, no matter who the president /congressional majority has been. If one can not sense that to the pit of their being, well, I feel sorry for you.
