Guys this game was awesome. Back in the game NOBODY thought it posible to have a Genesis port given its limited hardware. The programmers did an awesome job...
LMAO SORE THUMBS is an understatement with the genesis I remember playing this until I had giant blisters on me thumbs xD fav char was Guile hardest character to use IMO but no one could beat me
This is the version I had too. I beat the game with every single character except Balrog. I kept coming up one or two punches away from beating Bison. Since Balrog doesn't kick, it's hard to win with against Bison, the final fighter.
@MasterMacLeod No the sounds. The hadoken and shoryuken were off on the snes version. The ones on genesis mimicked exactly the arcade, but of course the sound quality wasn't the best.
@dunnono00 Those people need to get checked by a physician, the voices are different only in the original SFIIWW and from there, they're the same. Even then, WW had the same voices if you pulled the specials with HP or HK.
I remember playing this game every single day nonstop and I would always choose Chun-li. I've always majored her and still am good with her as I play Street Fighter Alpha 3.
But seeing his brings back memories, I remember as a kid I always had a tough time beating Ken cause he kept using his damn Hadoken and Shoooryuken!
If you have the standard 3-button controller, press Start to alternate between punch and kick. For the 6-button controller, the top buttons (x, y, and z) correspond to light/medium/hard punch, the bottom buttons (a, b, and c) correspond to light/medium/hard kick.

Fact: You would have a bad and slow time playing this on the UK 50fps Sega Mega Drive.

The sounds were more accurate than snes though

@ceeIoc You mean the music, because the sounds are terrible.

@ceeIoc The voice effects were the same as the arcade in the SNES version, you seriously need an audiometry if you think any different.

@MasterMacLeod
Some believe the SNES voices are slightly sped up or higher pitched.

That 'Sore Thumbs' logo is far too big. Either remove it in future vids, or make it a LOT smaller! Really distracting.

The Super Nintendo version was way better.

How do you kick in Street Fighter 2 for the Sega Genesis? I can only punch, but how do I kick?

So you can't pause with the 3-Button controller? That's gay.
TenguGuy 2 years ago
No, you have to press all three buttuns and start to pause.
