The funny thing is they're actually just free falling, and even tough their relative position to the airplane only varies slightly, they're moving fast and accelerating towards the planet.
@atan0k Well the same thing happens with anything that's orbiting the Earth, such as the ISS. However the ISS is just moving so fast that it can hold itself in orbit instead of plummeting back to Earth.
lol, this will make sense if quake engine was a modified half life engine. There isn't sv_cheats in quake. It's specific for half life engine. He doesn't have any releation with half life engine. Most importantly, half-life engine was a heavly modified Quake 1 engine. Not Quake 2.
I want to take a dojo full of karate students up and let them create. Now me, I consider myself lucky that I can spell karate, but I drive past the dojos, I know where they are, and if I only had the money, I'd stop in and offer them a ride. Bet they'd take me up on it. I might get a "free" bodyguard out of the deal.
well technically no human has ever experienced true zero g. something in orbit is still free falling. even when escape velocity was reached on the way to the moon, the astronauts were free falling around the sun... since they were still in orbit around it. but if you define zero g as a feeling of no gravity within your reference frame, then zero g can be attained on a plane like this. but they appeared to be simulating micro gravity... not full on zero g
I am very happy to see the vidoe John Carmack Zero-G Training from you, hopefully the others also are happy for You

Think of it as "indoors skydiving".

@JimTheMingebag
since when Carmak has been using half life console cheats?
unutmayacagimbirnick 1 year ago
@unutmayacagimbirnick Since Half-Life engine is a modified Quake 2 engine, and as such uses alot of the same console commands.

@unutmayacagimbirnick Regardless, same company and the same programmers. sv_cheats might not be in Quake 1, alot of console commands are the same.

That must be so great!
Why don't they do some parabolas on ordinary passenger flights (so you can ride that great, without spending all your money)?
It doesn't need much of modification to the planes to do that.
