Actually in the 70s and 80s the storm was indeed 2 times bigger (in diameter) than Earth. However, the last ten years or so, the spot has shrunk half its size.

I read it is 8km above the cloud tops... Which I guess the cloud tops are the bottom clouds and not the mass of clouds all over its atmosphere.

But i think there could be life on Jupiter... Underground.

the weird thing is, is that it doesnt move around the planet like a hurricane. It literally stays in one location and the clouds and gas move through it. The theory is that its caused by "volcanic" activity from the surface rising through the atmosphere. No one really knows though

A storm 3 times bigger than the Earth and Jupiter probibly has had many others, has many more and will have many more. Jupiter has plenty of storms, most of wich rival the size of the Earth and smaller plenets and moons.
