This seems easier than using an auto-siphon, and I like the cap better than the standard bung that often slip in and out, especially when freshly sanitized. I definitely like the idea of rinsing my mouth with plenty of whisky as a precaution before siphoning.
@emerson1m Respectfully disagree. I have personally used these caps to rack my own beer and wine for 17 years without a problem. If you use a racking cane sized to the carboy, it doesn't take much air pressure at all to start the siphon, and as long as one doesn't drool or spit while starting the siphon, it works fine (some folks will rinse their mouth out with vodka or whiskey as added insurance).
