  • Love this video and have loved Poco sense 1970, but it looks like Paul Cotton has a Mohawk from this video! Sorry but it's true!

  • Damn, Tim is around 60 and he looks great, man! One of the best singers.

  • Someone is really off key... and it's not Timothy.

  • Timothy still has that great voice! Ritchie's is pretty awesome as well! In their day, Poco was an awesome band, and definitely one of my favorite bands! In college, about 1982 or 83, a new woman I just met in the dorm, stayed up most of the night sewing the Poco Horse emblem on the back of my dungaree shirt! How I wish I still had it! I owe that precious SUNY New Paltz woman quite a debt of gratitude! BobbyK

  • Just beautiful, thanks for sharing. Loved Timothy's voice since I was a child.

  • I also love the thank you nods and personal points of satisfaction in the faces of the players. Tim nods a thanks to Richie and Paul smiles it up when Tim delivers.

What an incredible group of artists who have survived the tides of pop culture, music industry b.s. and economics and the personal stuff.

If the Pentagon and the Military Industrial Complex had to endure this kind of scrutiny and budget cuts and these guys were given free access the world might be a better place.

  • Timothy asks Paul what key they are in 1:07. I saw Don Henley on the Hell Freezes Over DVD turn to the percussionist to get the beat on one song. A lot riding personally and professionally in both performances. People are people even with success and big bucks. I love the Stagecoach performances as much as I love Poco Live at the Belcourt Theater Reunion DVD in Nashville.

  • I love POCO ! There is no harmony like POCO's ! Great clip but I can't watch these things without crying !

  • I wanted to see this so bad, but my Mama was dying at the time, and I just couldn't leave her. I sure wish these guys would get together one more time, so I could see them.

  • good god somebody was waaaayy off key

  • I loves me some Poco too, but Timothy was not an original member. Rick Meisner, was the first bass player...just sayin'. Love the clip!

  • Randy Meisner. Yes, you're right. Founding member of Poco AND The Eagles.

  • You go, Dianna. TBS is awesome. Have you found his solo wooden version of the Poco song, "What Am I Gonna Do?" on youtube, It's quite wonderful. I grew up with Poco and had seen them over 30 times in concert, including all of the shows they ever did at Central Park's Wollman Skating Rink at the Schaeffer Summer Concerts.

  • That my uncle playing bass in the beginning of this video! Neat great job Richard

  • TBS is still so hot! And what a talent!

  • Wow it would be a treat to see them play sometime, they sound good.Love how I can see the chords & the capo on the 3rd fret.

  • No one sings harmony like this any more--except for CSN (who helped give life to Poco through their Buffalo Springfield lineage) and America. Awesome tune and perfect performance.

  • Timothy is so hot! voice is always amazing:)

  • My gosh it's so awesome that it doesn't matter what song they're doing from whatever line up they were in, put 'em all together and it's like they recorded it with all of them in the first place. This is one of my faves by the band and one of my mom's favorites when it came out in '75. A lot of tears with this one after she had split with her boyfriend of five years.

  • This is my favourite Poco song (or just plain all-time favourite song) performed by my all-time favourite Poco line-up. Does it get any better than this.? Jeeez I only wish I'd been there.

  • i hear music in my eeeeeaaaaarrrr !!!!!

  • POCO AMERICA and THE EAGLES

  • @PEDROCLASSIC That's a concert I want to be at,they need to do some superstar tour like Journey,Styx,Kansas,Boston & Foreigner have done.

  • @ureadmymind There ya go. CLASSIC ROCK 70s and 80S love them all too.

those bands you mentioned and deep purple, sabbath, zepellin, saxon, .

  • Superb!!

  • Many Thanks!

I love this song 30 years ago.

    from JAPAN

  • Forgot to say Poco were originaly called Pogo and had to change their names for legal reasons.

  • Good vid great song. But Tim Schmit was not a founder member of Poco he replaced Randy Meisner who Tim also replaced in The Eagles.

I saw Poco in Glasgow in the 70s when they supported America. Poco got 4 encores they were superb America got booed.

    Thanks for posting

  • didnt randy go back to poco for awhile too? lol

  • @rogerdurant I saw Poco in 75 supporting America at Southport Merseyside. Poco were awesome America were keech.

  • I still play this to this day....it's the first song my dear departed wife said sounded really...really good when I played it for her...although we didn't meet until a year later...we were at the same POCO concert...how weird is that?

  • What a lucky persons who where there!!!

  • The ageless wonder, Timothy B. Schmit. Saw him do an even better version of this classic on Mon. 12/7/09 at Portland's Aladdin Theater. The band he's assembled for this west coast tour is every bit as musically talented as The Eagles. Everywhere one looked in the audience you saw tears of joy at the sound that was coming off that stage. No man should be able to sing like that at age 62!

  • Now, that's music! A classic reunion. Nice to see the Eagles let Timothy B. out for the show.

  • hahahaha....see you getting some thumbs down on your post....but I get the joke! You're a funny guy!

  • What a magical moment... I wanted to go to this concert so very badly, but my mother was deathly ill, and I couldn't leave her. Great job guys, and God Bless. I hope to see a new album/tour soon?!

  • Yes Love The Voice Of Timothy B Schimt !!

EXPANDO Is On My Favorites List !!! Thats

The Voice Of An Angel Singing To My Heart. I Was Just Out Of High School Poco Was Popular In My Eyes. I Have Followed Timothy's Voice Thru The Years. Thank You For Sharing This Video

  • @DiannaSi he is amazing lol i got to see him on his expando tour i've loved him since i was 8 lol

  • Forgot to mention Paul Cotton on guitar too!!

  • I don't consider Paul a founding member. He replaced Jim Messina in 1970. Great player and singer nonetheless.

  • Hey Kitnewell...true, Paul is not a founding member. But neither is Tim! Randy Meisner was the original bass player; bolted during Pickin Up the Pieces. Tim was not a part of that; he joined after that first album. But Paul and Tim are part of what many consider the 'definitive' Poco; the 'Good Feelin' To Know' years. Jimmy didn't play on Good Feelin;. Richie didn't play on Keep on Tryin'! but he surely knows it here! Fascinating history, this band. A Super Group, RRHOF worthy.

  • Hey Yokonono... You really know your stuff! Thanks for the info!

  • I saw Poco a month ago (okay just Rusty and Paul...and that bass guy who's really good)..and they finished with "Good Feeling to Know"...and it sounded as good as when I saw them with George and Tim...Paul is great country rock guitar player with a great voice....I think when he replaced Richie...it made the "definitive" POCO...although Ritchie was the beginning and the inspiration...

  • Good bit of info. Thanks for your insights, Crowsfan.

  • Hey Crowsfan, Paul did NOT replace Richie Furay...he replaced Jimmy Messina in 1970. Paul and Richie played together on Poco's best albums (IMO) including Crazy Eyes, and Good Feelin' to Know! By that time Tim was also in the band. But by the time of this Tim classic, Keep on Tryin', in '75, Richie had left the band.

  • yeah you are right Yoko....when I saw them in '73 it was Paul, Tim, George & Rusty...Crazy Eyes was a great album (Ritchie's tribute to Graham Parsons)..but he was gone by then...thanks for the correction...

  • Gram Parsons you mean... of course...

  • Yokonono99

Thank your for your insight. Jeez-Loueez... It's not often one gets the real deal...

    Cheers

    Chris Newell

  • i met paulat a show and rusty theyre both real nice guys

  • Wow!That's a real voice! thanks for the video!too bad they are not better promoted!

  • I love TIMOTHY B SCHMIT. He has the voice of an angel, He is still THE hottest man alive and can't wait for EXPANDO to come out. Rock on Timothy!!!!!!

  • Timothy B and Richie nail this one! Poco has never quite been the same without both of them.

  • is there a sweeter voice then Timmy?

  • thanks Kit...you posted history here...god bless ya...

  • Thanks a lot for posting this video! It´s such a shame that most of the german don´t even know Poco! Asking for the eagles, you hear many german say `ah, Hotel California, right?`. Yes, right, but........... That´s why I love you tube and your video!!!!!!!

  • Wow, thanks, it is amazing they even did this, HOW COOL!

  • Beautiful.

man these guys will put of a lot of the young bands to shame. There harmonies are tight and Tim B wow! I love his counter tenor voice.

    Dave

  • timothy b is my hero. ive had the honor of meeting him before. hes amazing. i want to be just like him.

  • I'll take Poco over the Eagles any day. Don Henley is a good businessman, but his solo "career" is a good example of what he can do without Tim, Glenn, and Joe!

  • Everytime Poco takes a new direction or shows a new influence, the next Eagles album mirrors that change. Trace it down through their history, you'll see I'm right. Listen to the Common Thread Eagles tribute album, The country artists' arrangements make the Eagles songs sound more like Poco songs! However, Clint Black's Desparado is true to the original and wicked good!

  • You are so right! I always liked the Eagles, but I like Poco better! If they had only all stayed together, they would have put out even MORE great music over the years. I just wish they would all get together for another album and tour, before it's too late.

  • wow...never thought of that druther...I will definately research that...I remember the "Rose of Cimmeron" album...then came "Hotel California"...I think you are on to something...

  • I neglected to mention that the Eagles played warm up for Poco.

  • My guess, and it is only a guess, is that Henley had to sign off on this appearance by Tim. Notice that he doesn't play. I think even a controlfreak like Henley can't prevent someone from "hummimg" along with the tunes, especially if he isn't getting paid. Everybody's got to live, and Tim has kids and a family. I'm sad that he left Poco. Good (!) career move for him, though.

    MRM

  • Tim announced on-stage that his right hand was injured and that's why he wasn't playing bass (notice the bandage). Highly unlikely any conspiracy was underway.

  • I think Tim is free to pursue anything individually he wants. I think he's almost finished with a new solo album himself. I can't wait til it's released.

  • Let's hope it does better than previous albums. He does do a good version og Caroline No on one of his solo releases.

  • TBS has earned a reputation as the finest Rock Bass player in the world. Check the guitar mags, you'll see I'm speaking the gospel. With that rep, TBS pretty much does as he pleases when he pleases.

  • Rusty, Timothy, Richie, Jimmy, Paul, & Jack all on stage together! Who was playing drums? George has been appearing on a very limited basis. I'll bet that was a great evening of music and memories. The flow of energy WAS SO FINE.

  • George Lawrence has been playing drums in G Granthams absense

  • Since I asked that question, a pickin up the pieces vid from Stagecoach 2009 has appeared on youtube. At the beginning, Richie intorduces George G and then George sings. So that means all the original members plus Paul, Jack and George L were on stage together! When Poco appears with the Little River Band and America both of those bands bring Rusty on stage during their performances. I've been told when Richie pops up unannounced, they bring him out and mention his being the R&R HOF. Kewl huh?

  • druther - were you at Stagecoach? I'm so jealous ifyou were. I live on the east coast and would have loved to see them in person. They don't do anything like it here. I have seen the video of Tim singing Caroline No. He does a beautiful job! I have 3 of his solo projects so far. Hope to get the next one when it comes out. Regards..

  • Love how Furay's singing on this one--he wasn't on the studio version. I think part of him wishes he never quit to begin with.

  • that is a great video.. :D i really missed Timothy, Keep on trying isn't the same without him..

  • Great to see Timmy!

  • MAGIC. how nice to see these guys back together again. i love those trees in the background.

  • yeah rrhf for poco and the marshall tucker band these two great bands and the music they created will last for ever amen

  • Great, good to see you all back together, I loved the 2004 DVD.

  • Wow is right...Lost art...talent...

  • This was waaaay too long in coming, and so so very right! Please stick together this time guys, and stage a comeback tour, so you FINALLY get into the R&R Hall of Fame like you deserve!

  • Timothy is still looking good, I missed POCO!

  • thank you for posting.great sound as always

  • Just great......

  • Man, that is awesome!
