  • Thank you very much I am Armenian Apostolic but I would like to get one of those ropes. One more time thank you my friend can you tell me the name of the spiritual song please

God bless and peace to you and Orthodox Christians God bless them all

  • @Jacobshirin93 God bless my friend!

The the hymn is called *the prayer* and refers to how to gain prayer of the heart by using a prayer rope and repeating the "jesus prayer".

  • Prayer 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling [saying the same words over and over again] like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him [ask only once; anything more than this is pointless (vanity)].

  • I know how to pray with the prayer rope and how its used.

The thing I did not know was that it wasn´t customary or even was disrespectful to wear it around you neck. I am very much against using rosary or prayer ropes as some kind of fashion and that wasn´t the case in my action , but to have it under the clothes as a comfort.

When I bought it it was sold as a necklace(wrong) among many other of the same kind so i assumed it was meant to wear when you was not using it to pray.Well I learned

  • @yaMicho10452 Yah... the long prayer ropes i believe are meant to be always used.. i assume its for practicality because they make them that big because it will take you longer to reach the end...

the small ones are worn as bracelets but they are more than that. some people dont realize there true usage. But the long ones are only used they are never just worn... the monks will walk around with them, and w/e they are doing they will say the jesus prayer going from one knot to the other.

  • Im using the prayer rope as a "beginner" prayer. I think its a great method always carry it on my neck.

Great video God bless you all:)

  • @yaMicho10452

I would not call it a begging prayer.

and its not customary to wear it around your neck, altho i am not condemning you wearing it, but why dont you study more about its use and you will see how much depth really goes in to that prayer and that rope which is a great tool for prayer and keeping us focused

    God bless you my friend!

  • @yaMicho10452 Do not wear it around your neck. That is disrespectful. If you wear it on you, wear it on your left wrist. Otherwise, keep it out of sight.

  • @aznmessenjah I would have to agree not only is it not customary but it defeats the purpose.. your suppose to use it for prayer by going from one knot to the other... if its around your neck you are miss using it. its like using a car for swimming.

  • Thank you for the information! Iam orthodox christian too but the pray rope is only used in our monasteries and I´ve never before heard really the symbols of it. Thanks a lot! And best greetings from Finland!

  • @vegeboyx Well the prayer Rope can be used by any one at any time!

    God bless you my friend!

  • @OEfstratios God bless you and keep in his guidence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
