Didn't take the ACT. I took the SAT. But no matter what score I say, you won't believe it and I don't really have a way to prove it. Let's just say my test scores were high enough to be accepted at Rice University.

I wasn't saying Utah would definitely beat Florida. I was saying Florida's case for a title is hardly solid. Utah, USC and Texas all had as much reason to be in the title game as Florida and Oklahoma did.
The POINT (which sailed over your head) is the BCS is a popularity contest, not a legitimate system.
I agree changes should be made, but a playoff would most likely screw Utah over in the end. A shorter season would mean fewer big regular season games. This would also make the regular season almost irrelevant. With the current system, one little error can screw a team in the end. This makes every game vital for each team. It would also uproot bowl game traditions. Smaller conference teams ( mountain west) wouln't consider their seasons succesful unless they earned a playoff spot
You must be suggesting a 16 team playoff, which is too large. I can see a 4 team playoff, but by having a 16 team playoff, you would cut into student athletes studying time. In all reality, kids need to worry more about finals than they do about sports.
There are 11 FBS conferences. A 12-team playoff would give each a spot plus one wild-card. Or just have an 11-team bracket. There are plenty of options.
And finals are a non-factor. Every school I know of has finals in early to mid December. The playoffs would be late Dec to early Jan, same time as bowls are now.

I agree changes should be made, but a playoff would most likely screw Utah over in the end. A shorter season would mean fewer big regular season games. This would also make the regular season almost irrelevant. With the current system, one little error can screw a team in the end. This makes every game vital for each team. It would also uproot bowl game traditions. Smaller conference teams ( mountain west) wouln't consider their seasons succesful unless they earned a playoff spot

There are 11 FBS conferences. A 12-team playoff would give each a spot plus one wild-card. Or just have an 11-team bracket. There are plenty of options.
And finals are a non-factor. Every school I know of has finals in early to mid December. The playoffs would be late Dec to early Jan, same time as bowls are now.
