  • hi steve can you tell me how much your bandsaw cast. thanks jack

  • Hi stevie boy ,the inlay ? it looked like you routered at the edge but the inlay was not at the edge? could you show on close up greater detail how you did this ,please master,

    Graeme. your Scottish friend

  • @bogsdolics Hey Graeme, Yeah I should have showed that better. It's really simple: I just rabbeted the top panel all the way around...not the box lid itself. Then I glued the panel in, then I just set the inlay strips into the groove.

  • @stevinmarin ahh I see , simple now I know , I made your nail in a piece of wood trick , its great , going to try more of you stuff when I get time ,its very sunny here today ! in Scotland !

thanks for all your video thingamy's.

    Graeme

  • @bogsdolics Cool. Say hey to the Ramsay Clan.

  • im making this in wood shop at school and today i removed the lid and saw dust got between the fence and the box and i didnt know and it mad a little slit where the lid meets the bottom but i figured out how o fill it in

  • Very nice. Thanks for showing me how to put some unused router bits and scrap wood to good use. BTW, what did you do on the bottom of the box? Do you see plywood when you turn it over? Thanks again...

  • Why chamfer the lid & the box at the end, YOU'VE 'EFFING RUINED IT !!!!

  • @nickoakley69 Haha! Well, I liked the separation it gave. You certainly don't have to. Plus, a chamfer hides mistakes. ;-)

  • @stevinmarin Fair enough, your prerogative I suppose, still quite impressive though.

  • great project. just got my router the other day, after i get some bits, im gonna give it a go. thanks man

  • Well done, very clear instruction and helpful. Thanks!

  • An excellent video, thanks a lot !

What kind of router table do you have ?

  • @MrNeigh12 It's a Craftsman. Works well, but nothing fancy.

  • Thanks

  • WOW, very nice video... that you very much... Ken

  • Very nice project , a pleasure to watch , nice music Pity for us Europeans to hear everything in Inches but thats just a minor glitz.Very very nice all around.Small question ...the side fits of the box look like 45 degree cuts .How did you make that??Angled band saw?Tilted stationary circular saw??? Also,I live in a hot climate. My nice pieces of wood, quickly are all bend out of shape.Aggrevating and expensive loss.Any advice???Thanx for a nice video.Notis Koundouris Syros Greece

  • HI, Just a minor comment for spraying finish, or paint, or whatever. I use what I think the women call a Lazy Susan. It has a stationary base, but the flat top plate revolves. It's usually used at the dinner table. Anyway, just place your project on it, spray it, revolve it, spray it again, and repeat. No more walking around your table, or saw horses trying to get it all covered. It's so much easier, and very simple. Wonderful work you do.

  • Mate, This is an excellent video and a beaut way to make a box lid. It never occurred to me that the lid could be made this way. I love it.

  • Very nice project. It's refreshing to see someone do great projects in their garage and not in a massive shop with thousands of dollars of commercial size tools.

  • can you make a woulden beyblade

  • Really nice and simple project - I think I can find a lot of use for these fine boxes :)

  • I tried this out at work to make a small aluminum box. very cool video

  • LOL: "The bravery test"

I hear ya man :) Great vid

  • I watched this one a while ago. Now that I got a router table, this will be the first project that I am going to try! Thanks Steve.

Hope you will have new projects soon!

  • I really enjoyed this video. I learned a new technique for making boxes.. thanks Steve!

  • Excellent work! I haven't used inlay before, did you use miters on the corners or just butt the inlay strips together?

  • Thank you for your nice videos (by the way, take care of your fingers?!)

  • I learned so much in this 2 part video ...thank you !!

  • nice car

  • Love this. Thanks Steve. I'm going to use this and make a pen box for the pens I'm turning. Can't wait.

  • thats actualy incredible:D

  • Steve, have you ever considered flocking intead of felt? It is much more elegant, and really easy!

  • Thanks! Very informative.

  • Do you sell your boxes like this? And if so how much do you sell them for?

  • Thanks for another very nice project.

  • Thanks for watching. I'm looking through my wood to figure out what I want to make next!
