It seems as if only Christians are commenting on this. I am not a Christian but I'm not Atheist nor Agnostic. I do think there is something, I just don't know what.
And when I listen to bands like Hawk Nelson and Skillet, I hear it for the music not the message.
i personally think that this is one of the most beautiful songs ive ever heard, it makes me cry every time and not only does it make me think about suicide but it makes me think about people ive lost in other ways, it hurts to think about it and i wish i could change the past :/
i also believe that jesus is speaking through this song, like, he is telling the world that he is there and he loves every single one of us <3

Jesus was a perfect man who loved u so much came here to die....not only die but he got beat spit on called names like u, and you did that to him,and he forgave u. your sin made him die, because u could not be with him he told ur punishment. I was abused as a kid. I have strugled with cutting, suicied, and depression for a long time. I recently tried to commit suicied but failed. I have since rededicated my life to my lord and savior and know that i failed at suicied for a reason. God has a plan for my life and i will follow him were he leads me. Thank you for posting this song. It really speaks to me.

I used to be a rock and roll type of person. Generally listening to songs promoting un-christianlike values. My youth pastor recommended this song to me, and I fell in love with Hawk Nelson. The messages they promote are awesome, and the music its presented in is amazing.

I love, love this video because I've lived it. A year and a half ago, a fellow classmate of mine was going through some issues in her life and decided she couldn't handle it any more. She killed herself that night and was found dead an hour later. I can't describe the pain or regret I felt on my part, and all she did was sit in front of me in physics every day. Seeing that empty seat every day was too much to handle. Suicide is NOT the answer.
@azirox7 How that heck is it a freaking money making business? It's true! I've seen people be healed and saved. I've healed some of my bet friends! And I saw a man jump of a building that should have killed him. But as he was falling he yelled "Father forgive me for I have sinned." And he just got up and walked away! He had to go to jail because it was attempted suicide. But htat was because of God that he survived!
this song is making me think of a kid in my grade who died a year ago today (well yesterday really)..i didn't know him but i know people who did and they've been upset as the anniversary approached. i myself can't believe a year has passed-i remember my mom asking me if i knew him-she saw his obituary in the paper..he didn't commit suicide, as the person in the song did, but this song is still helpful.

"Let me help you carry your stuff." and he carried his books home for him, later it was found out the boy was going to commit suicide cuz he had no friends and no one to say hi to, but because that one kid did that, he lived....

@MangakaRocker Oh shnap! There was a comic on that story! I'm pretty sure it was based on a true one, but someone made a comic strip for it. The kid who helped him turned out to be his best friend for the rest of their lives basically and when they graduated the kid who was about to suicide was, like, the most popular kid in school. He gave a grad. speech and told him what his friend did for him and what he would of done if he didn't help him. He's an example for us all.

I stopped cutting myself two years ago after a retreat with my church. at that retreat i realized how much God loved me, how with his help and praying there are better ways to deal with anger or depression than harming myself or others.

The thing about God is you don't need to prove God. That's the thing that's so hard for our human minds to grasp. It's a hard concept to explain, but the thing about God is that you have to believe in Him and know Him to know that He is God.
I just went on a retreat called Love out Loud.. and i learned that even through all the really bad times in my life i just need to take it to God and lean on him. God has a purpose for you so never let down...keep pushing and fight for yourself cause God loves you!

this is so true. We never understand why we go through really hard things at the time, but in the end, we see, that it was for us. "The light entered into the drakness, and it did not understand it." I forget which verse that is, I'm pretty sure it's in John, I love it.
the verse is John 1:5 and it states that "The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." It is definitely one of my favorite passages form the Bible :)
I have dealt with people who have been about to commit suicide...and the solutuion is so simple but so difficult, especially when most of my co workers are content with putting a bullet in them to stop anyone from getting hurt. Jesus is the only thing that can bring us back...the only thing that can put us through...there is nothing else to it

i've though about it as well, many times actually... my life is messed up too. i haven't seen my dad in three years, my mom is out of work because she was in a huge car accident, my friend is in the hospital for the 20th time (i'm not exaggerating) my friends are getting into drugs and such, and at times, i feel like i can't handle it. i'm 17 and i don't really have a best friend anymore since she died 5 years ago from cancer. but i feel like i have to keep on living for a reason i dont know yet
@thatsILLOGICAL usually God.. is a pretty great reason to keep on living.. i used to think about suicide too.. then I got saved and i know that i can handle pretty much anything with Him. :)

For every broken heart, God died and rose again. He is there with arms wide open waiting for you to fall into his grace. His grace can wipe away all sin. I'm writing this not knowing if you are saved yet, but I know this That all things work together 4 good for those that love Christ. I'll pray for you. Just know that even though it may not seem like it, nothing negative that happens in life is of God. Their is no darkness in Christ, none at all. Their is no light in Satan, none at all.

apparently MAN thinks he knows how god defines things. man decided what suicide is. the lord gets to decide he makes the descisions, suicide people go to heaven! Jesus is so much more then just an afterlife though. If he created the world, and he has a plan for us, that effects us now. Right now. God doesn't call us to be bored, if you do the bare minimum, yeah, your right, it is boring, extremely. There is so many things God has called people to do that take a lot of effort but have a huge payoff, its a lot more then boring. Its challenging, but worth it. You have to experience the realtionship with God before it means anything. Otherwise its all empty.

I believe that no matter what you do, unless you purposely say ur turning ur back on God, you will go to Heaven no matter what if you are saved by Jesus Christ. there is a scripture in the BIble that says that. You CANNOT lose ur salvation, even if you commit suicide.
But don't take that risk.

Heres a verse (John 10:29) "And I give eternal life to them; and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of My hand. that is true but even in the interpretation it never sais that these people were saved this is referring either to people that were never saved. think about it like this: God is a just God right? He wouldnt want to trick us out of salvation right? now if a man that lived rightiously his entire life sinned right before he died, in your opinion he would go to hell correct? well it would be unjust for a man to have sinned all his life and repented right before his death to be saved would it not?
You do bring a good point, however, I think God is more about the trying to work things out, as long as we honestly and earnestly are trying to change, then we are living like we have a law, because we are trying to reach it. If a man, in the last second, repents of his sin he is instantly washed and is accepted of the spirit in that second, making him unblemished, and thus deserving to be saved. "For the wages of sin is death." What we deserve is death, but Christ cleans us.
I agree just look at the theif on the cross with Christ. Sadly at that point people just say a prayer hoping that it will magically get them out of hell. I also agree we should be living daily for God as a law. It should'nt just be a prayer once and return to how you were living. When we sin, we should ask for forgiveness in sincerety. However a large part of me would rather someone thinking of suicide as an option to believe what you say. the truth is as a Christian my sins our forgiven past, present and future, this includes future suicide, however as I mentioned before it is never the answer. The only unforgivable sin is the continual rejection of the Holy Spirit. That indeed will send anyone and everyone to hell. This truth biblical.

If it could then all christians would still be lost in their sins. Suicide ends what can potentially be a fruitful life that will glorify the lord our god and commiting it is an act of cowardice and surrender. That is the easy way out. Again it is never the answer.

i was thinking of commiting suicide myself. i thought that God had abandoned me and i had lost hope, and reason of living. but my friend showed me a verse (lamentations 3:17-24) and i found hope. i was baptized on december 4 2008 and have been going to youth group weekly. GOD'S AMAZING!!!!

@azirox7 How that heck is it a freaking money making business? It's true! I've seen people be healed and saved. I've healed some of my bet friends! And I saw a man jump of a building that should have killed him. But as he was falling he yelled "Father forgive me for I have sinned." And he just got up and walked away! He had to go to jail because it was attempted suicide. But htat was because of God that he survived!

this song is making me think of a kid in my grade who died a year ago today (well yesterday really)..i didn't know him but i know people who did and they've been upset as the anniversary approached. i myself can't believe a year has passed-i remember my mom asking me if i knew him-she saw his obituary in the paper..he didn't commit suicide, as the person in the song did, but this song is still helpful.

I know this song is about suicide but it means a lot to me. My boyfriend was killed by a drunk driver and the drunk driver got 2 days in jail for killing someone. Ans i feel that if I had been there then things would have been okay. "Let me help you carry your stuff." and he carried his books home for him, later it was found out the boy was going to commit suicide cuz he had no friends and no one to say hi to, but because that one kid did that, he lived....

@MangakaRocker Oh shnap! There was a comic on that story! I'm pretty sure it was based on a true one, but someone made a comic strip for it. The kid who helped him turned out to be his best friend for the rest of their lives basically and when they graduated the kid who was about to suicide was, like, the most popular kid in school. He gave a grad. speech and told him what his friend did for him and what he would of done if he didn't help him. He's an example for us all.

Dear brothers and sisters I wish to you Gods grace. Many find me crazy and stupid that I believe in Jesus Christ, they say but you are doing a good education.

I stopped cutting myself two years ago after a retreat with my church. at that retreat i realized how much God loved me, how with his help and praying there are better ways to deal with anger or depression than harming myself or others.

I just went on a retreat called Love out Loud.. and i learned that even through all the really bad times in my life i just need to take it to God and lean on him. God has a purpose for you so never let down...keep pushing and fight for yourself cause God loves you!

I have an injury that stopped me doing everything I enjoy- sport and music. I was in hospital for a long time last year, I was in so much pain. I couldnt even use music to take it away like I used to.
My uncle died only 3 months ago of a heart attack. I am sick of pain, I tried to kill myself but this song stopped me. :)

I have dealt with people who have been about to commit suicide...and the solutuion is so simple but so difficult, especially when most of my co workers are content with putting a bullet in them to stop anyone from getting hurt. Jesus is the only thing that can bring us back...the only thing that can put us through...there is nothing else to it

i've though about it as well, many times actually... my life is messed up too. i haven't seen my dad in three years, my mom is out of work because she was in a huge car accident, my friend is in the hospital for the 20th time (i'm not exaggerating) my friends are getting into drugs and such, and at times, i feel like i can't handle it. i'm 17 and i don't really have a best friend anymore since she died 5 years ago from cancer. but i feel like i have to keep on living for a reason i dont know yet

Christ died once for all - Suicide is never the answer. Jesus is so much more then just an afterlife though. If he created the world, and he has a plan for us, that effects us now. Right now. God doesn't call us to be bored, if you do the bare minimum, yeah, your right, it is boring, extremely. There is so many things God has called people to do that take a lot of effort but have a huge payoff, its a lot more then boring. Its challenging, but worth it. You have to experience the realtionship with God before it means anything. Otherwise its all empty.

I believe that no matter what you do, unless you purposely say ur turning ur back on God, you will go to Heaven no matter what if you are saved by Jesus Christ. there is a scripture in the BIble that says that. You CANNOT lose ur salvation, even if you commit suicide.
But don't take that risk.

show me a verse in the Bible where it sais if you kill yourself you wont go to heaven. Heres a verse (John 10:29) "And I give eternal life to them; and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand".

You do bring a good point, however, I think God is more about the trying to work things out, as long as we honestly and earnestly are trying to change, then we are living like we have a law, because we are trying to reach it. If a man, in the last second, repents of his sin he is instantly washed and is accepted of the spirit in that second, making him unblemished, and thus deserving to be saved. "For the wages of sin is death." What we deserve is death, but Christ cleans us.

I agree just look at the theif on the cross with Christ. Sadly at that point people just say a prayer hoping that it will magically get them out of hell. I also agree we should be living daily for God as a law. It should'nt just be a prayer once and return to how you were living. When we sin, we should ask for forgiveness in sincerety. @ljosue65 That is not the gospel truth. That may be your belief but it simply isn't true. However a large part of me would rather someone thinking of suicide as an option to believe what you say. the truth is as a Christian my sins our forgiven past, present and future, this includes future suicide, however as I mentioned before it is never the answer. The only unforgivable sin is the continual rejection of the Holy Spirit. That indeed will send anyone and everyone to hell. This truth biblical.

@crashtr2BOSS I almost hate to say this as it is not intended to give people an excuse to commit suicide but commiting suicide will never send a christian to hell. If it could then all christians would still be lost in their sins. Suicide ends what can potentially be a fruitful life that will glorify the lord our god and commiting it is an act of cowardice and surrender. That is the easy way out. Again it is never the answer.

ppl who r contemplating suicide, dont do it. the only thing suicide will get u is a 1 way ticket to hell. a few crappy years on this earth r nothin compared to eternity w/ God. dont throw tht eternity away just to get rid of problems here because they wont compare to what will await u in hell.

Wow. Can you be less compassionate? People who are hurting so much that they even THINK that suicide is the answer need our love - not our ridicule. Try to LOVE like Jesus did. It makes you feel better and it might just save someone's life someday. We should always try to remember that Jesus loves us even when it seems that no one else does. He will be there for you even when all you want to do is scream. In fact he'll hold your hand while you do it.

I agree with you. I am against suicide, but I cant make that decision for someelse. so we should just do our part, by loving them unconditionally just like Jesus did. =)

i was thinking of commiting suicide myself. i thought that God had abandoned me and i had lost hope, and reason of living. but my friend showed me a verse (lamentations 3:17-24) and i found hope. i was baptized on december 4 2008 and have been going to youth group weekly. GOD'S AMAZING!!!!

the message behind it is sad. i cry when i listen to this song because my brother's friend commited suicide and left only my brother a note. he didn't even leave his parents a note. so sad.

or because u werent sure where u would end up..
but u most LIKELY didnt because God couldnt bear to be seperated from u. he wanted a chance to know u better so he put thoughts of hope in ur head.
