  • So many different types of screams and singing. I love the varieties in this band!

  • nice mix of dada and surrealism

    love the song!^^

  • Surrealist masterpiece of a video

  • I don't really like this PV.

Maybe too complex for me <.<

  • Shinya....(L) kimi wo aishi!!!^^(L)

  • hmmmm :/

i felt that kyo wasn't really addressing the people watching, he just sang and screamed to the side, it seemed less powerful than say, lives. O. o

  • @DiruSorrow I actually thought that side-singing matched the feel of the music for the most part. And while I may have liked some more engagement from Kyo during the heaviest parts, I wouldn't try to hold any video up to a live.

They are really getting into this 3D thing, which is pretty cool, but I think something else (I think the camera direction) is becoming standard (which is to say suboptimal, since I think they had that perfect in earlier vids: e.g. Obscure).

  • @okuno54

yeah you're right about holding pv's up to lives :)

mhmm the beginning verse in english is pretty effective and fun to sing along to~ xD

yeah their latest pvs, such as Dozing Green, Clever Sleazoid, Vinushka perhaps tend to go towards implementing animations into the pv, though Obscure did do that too but Saku didn't..

    That make any sense? :S

  • @DiruSorrow Yeah, that makes sense, though Vinushka I don't think has CG (lot's of slowmo water, though). But it's not the CG that really I'm commenting on (Child Prey was really CG heavy, for example). It's more the kind of composition of where the camera is placed for shots, and when scenes cut. I think one thing that really comes out lately is "band in environment", and the environment acts a lot, often more than the band. Glass Skin, Dozing Green, Vinushka, Red Soil all have that property.

  • @okuno54

ah I see what you mean and understand that now... :D

the environment having an importance does come through, the shots support the song, with what you said about environment, the video for Glass Skin is more based on the environment and what happens with it. E.g crumbling blocks ( :P ) and pretty neat looking skulls.. It's a nice effect i think.

Though close ups of Dir en grey themselves wouldn't go amiss, though i suppose "Hageshisa to..." catered to that.
