That dog is not aggressive, it's afraid, it acts defensive. As soon as Cesar picks up the trash can, he starts yelping and runs away, probably thinking it's a weapon. My guess is he's been beaten by the previous owner.

They have been overbred to the point many of them are born paranoid and naturally over-suspicious. The sad fact is many of them are born pussys and scared. Your right the dog is afraid. They usually are dark, from grey to black. They usually work in police duty or live saving. Nevertheless, my dog would behave the same in this situation. He calls for help (depending on the owner). They are strong in a human-dog team, that's their destination. They are not stand-alone-dogs.

People are always afraid of what they don't understand. Just because you don't agree with someone's theory doesn't prove its wrong. But how can it be correct to treat a dog like a human. We recognize emotions in dogs and we assume they are what we feel they are. We do this in our own relationships as well and it never works there either. Until we communicate our feelings we can only assume. Even if we are correct about what we see in another, mostly we are assuming. Especially with a dog.

Sorry this is ridiculous! Cesar Millan is a trainer but he's o behaviorist. A dog like this has the energy to run 50 miles a day with no food. A walk will never relieve that pent up energy. This dog has had enough training that he knows to walk beside Cesar without any pulling or tugging. His aggression is fear aggression but this can usually be overcome by socializing the dog.
White German Shepherds don't necessarily have to have all white parents. The AKC is wrong in not allowing them to be shown. There is no reason to think that a white GSD is inferior because of the color.
I've owned GSDs for 35yrs. and I've never had a bad one.

90% of the problems people have with all these dogs is they are to lazy to walk their dog and they dont have the balls to be the leader. Dogs are much like kids if you baby them they will walk all over you. You have to be the leader and set the rules.
A dog that attacks strangers indiscriminately isn't a good thing... They are a liability and can end up seriously hurting someone that they're not supposed to. A dog that is used for protection /must/ be well socialized so that it can make the distinction between a friendly stranger and a dangerous stranger, and act accordingly.
My girlfriend's black German Shepherd is very protective and they have to lock him away whenever visitors are over. I managed to win him over after about 4 months. Ha now that dog is like my best friend... he loves me!
The trick was the 25 cent leash. Ghetto dogs don't like expensive, fancy leash!

Caesar says and does some good things and then ruins it with stupid statements like " Animals cant do 2 things at once. He can carry or pull but not both" That is SOOO stupid. As if the dog can't go running down the street with that back pack on. I used to have my GSD pull me on roller blades. She LOVED it. However it did not stop her from try to chase a squirrel when she saw one.

That dog is not aggressive, it's afraid, it acts defensive. As soon as Cesar picks up the trash can, he starts yelping and runs away, probably thinking it's a weapon. My guess is he's been beaten by the previous owner.

@Jennyfisch german shepherds are always way overrated. I work in a pet clinic and we have had more problems with german shepherds than any other breed. They have been overbred to the point many of them are born paranoid and naturally over-suspicious. The sad fact is many of them are born pussys and scared. Your right the dog is afraid. Thats today's german shepherd!

@abrafrito868 I don't know, where you are from. I am from germany and I owe a german shepard. There are two breedings, showline and workingline. Mine is workingline. They usually are dark, from grey to black. They usually work in police duty or live saving. Nevertheless, my dog would behave the same in this situation. He calls for help (depending on the owner). They are strong in a human-dog team, that's their destination. They are not stand-alone-dogs.

That's a thing cesar don't use. Cause that's about fun and letting the dog think and reward only when the dog does the right thing. Your dog is supposed to be your best friend. People are always afraid of what they don't understand. Just because you don't agree with someone's theory doesn't prove its wrong. But how can it be correct to treat a dog like a human. We recognize emotions in dogs and we assume they are what we feel they are. We do this in our own relationships as well and it never works there either. Until we communicate our feelings we can only assume. Even if we are correct about what we see in another, mostly we are assuming. Especially with a dog.

At drewsky924- Yes my dog was going to be put to sleep and I rescued him from that and therefore saved his life. He had bitten his previous owner and was aggressive with little children. According to you true aggression is defined how? How do you think I'm raising my dog? Please explain. You have no clue what I've done for this dog 24/7. I fed my dog by hand for a year. I have trained the aggression out of him by using methods that are difficult for people to comprehend and therefore diregarded.

A true aggressive dog would never had allowed itself to be cornered like that without at least a growl. I have a true aggressive dog and I've seen what they can do. True aggression problems in dogs are deep seeded issues that take months and years to work out. Dominance theory is a sham. This show is total bullshit. I will challenge his methods anytime and I'm not a professional trainer and I'll prove he is a fake. His training will never stick. This show is about making him look good. Thats all

Sorry this is ridiculous! Cesar Millan is a trainer but he's o behaviorist. A dog like this has the energy to run 50 miles a day with no food. A walk will never relieve that pent up energy. Dogs don't understand words unless they associate the sound of the word with body language. Telling a dog to relax and cornering it is the most ridiculous idea I've ever seen and this dog shows no sign of growling or snarling which means he has already been socialized. Get a real aggressive dog in the ring.

This dog has had enough training that he knows to walk beside Cesar without any pulling or tugging. His aggression is fear aggression but this can usually be overcome by socializing the dog.
White German Shepherds don't necessarily have to have all white parents. The AKC is wrong in not allowing them to be shown. There is no reason to think that a white GSD is inferior because of the color.
I've owned GSDs for 35yrs. and I've never had a bad one.

@Jaruco03 The AKC does nothing to promote responsible breeding of any breed. I would like to see breed wardens appointed by the German Shepherd Club. Some individual dogs should not be bred either because of temperament or serious faults. But the AKC will take our money and register the offspring of any pair of dogs.
I don't bother registering my dog.........I don't intend to enter him in any AKC events so I save that money and buy him some more fresh raw beef!

Damn! I can't believe that lady had the audacity to let her yard be seen as dirty as it was. I'm glad Cesar helped the dog, but I'm surprised he didn't bring up the heath issue of the horrendously dirty yard!
For all I know he did bring it up...OFF CAMERA, so as not to totally embarrass the owner. I understand she's paralyzed, but come on, get your kid to clean the yard or ask a relative or a neighbor to help.

You would not last 2 second with an aggressive or angry dog. What you are doing is just what millions of people do with their pets teaching them small tricks. You do not understand really what Cesar Milan is doing or where he is in life. He is humble, spiritual and yet very, very strong, dogs feel that. Please try to respect one of the worlds best dog trainer, you do not even reach his toes.

@somuchluv89 lol the dog WAS aggressive but when is was challenged it tried to run away and avoid the situation. Cesar doesnt want it to run and be uncertain about itself and him he wants to follow it until the dog sits down, and this earns dogs trust more than sweet talk (just a note: they cant understand what you are saying) you sit down you would just get attacked or the dog would merely put up with you being there but you would not earn respect and as soon as you ask the dog anything - bite.

90% of the problems people have with all these dogs is they are to lazy to walk their dog and they dont have the balls to be the leader. Dogs are much like kids if you baby them they will walk all over you. You have to be the leader and set the rules.

A dog that attacks strangers indiscriminately isn't a good thing... They are a liability and can end up seriously hurting someone that they're not supposed to. A dog that is used for protection /must/ be well socialized so that it can make the distinction between a friendly stranger and a dangerous stranger, and act accordingly.

My girlfriend's black German Shepherd is very protective and they have to lock him away whenever visitors are over. I managed to win him over after about 4 months. Ha now that dog is like my best friend... he loves me!
