  • By no means is it easy even if you do have fundamentals. It is all about style. And if you don't have it, this will sound awful. I am playing this for my audition for my city's youth symphony. Wish me luck? :D

  • alright, he looks like around 50 years old, so if i practice this music until i become 50, i would be as good as him.

  • Id like to see Chuck Norris try this.

  • A tounged slur isn;t as complicated as you think it is, but yes this man has cons. Every single one of us trumpets makes mistakes, its in our nature. But the thing is our mistakes sound GOOD. If you ever make a mistake, make it sound loud and as if it fit there! Trust me, they probably make more mistakes than you think but just make it sound great. Infact he did a trumper clinic like thing, reaches for a high C flubs and says. "Owell, mistakes happen."

  • Quite the amazing thing :)

  • AMAZING!

  • You make it sound as if it's easy...but it requires practice which means working at it.

  • Actually, as a trumpet player---if you have all the fundis---this is quite easy to play.

  • @oldisthebest lol, that's a big if.

  • @oldisthebest Actually, as an objective viewer who doesn't play trumpet--if you have all the knowledge about trumpet players and their attitudes---they think they can all do something like this that only a few people in the world can play as effortlessly as Vizutti does.

  • @oldisthebest thats the stupidest thing ive ever heard anyone say thats like saying its easy to get to the moon if you have the right equipment

  • I went to middle school with Allen. He played this peice just about as well when he was 14. He was always playful in what he did like turning the trumpet upside down. I remember after one of his solos we went down to the school cafetria where we always set up and took down. Some kid asked him, is it hard to play?-----Allen said------not if you can do it. I have remembered that my whole life.

  • I feel bad about myself now. I've been playing 3 and a half years and just learned how to play the G off the scale

  • Showoff at the end :P

  • this is the kind of stuff that makes me feel like im just learning trumpet....

  • I did that all this morning

  • I could do that -.-

  • And i consider myself good?

dude, even as one of the top trumpeters in my high school. I still have a long way to go to be among the best trumpeters. This just gives me more insporation.

  • how does he do that slur thing at 13?

  • @ariannab12 that's the gist of it, it's mostly a slur with lots of notes, but it's a tongued slur, if you understand that at all.

  • @darknipple trombone players understand

  • @ariannab12 for every finger he puts down he plays the 5 notes of the triad in that partial.

    open fingering: C E G

    2: B D# F#

    1: Bb D F

all the way through open, 2, 1, 12, 23, 13 and back up and down crazy quick. like the boss that he is

  • Sponsered by, VW!

  • best posture, best tone, best everything. LEDGE!!

  • I agree that he wins.

  • It's called a spit valve, Al.

  • such beautiful tone! Get it Allen!

  • Who is he playing with?? They aren't professional are they? When you see the accompanying trumpets they have horrible technique. I don't even play trumpet and I know you should have the very tips of your fingers on the valves(Like Vizzutti) and not laying your fingers across the valve.

  • @LordoftheHobbits its more of a what works best for you type thing. notice he curls his pinky up when he plays and its not in the ring. that would be frowned upon by some people. but it works best for him.

  • @TheGRiiNDcore No way, the pinky is a matter of preference because it isn't vital to the playing of the instrument. Look at how freakn fast Vizzutti plays, that has to be done with the fingertips; you can't manipulate the valves like that when laying the knuckle parts of the fingers across.

  • Secretly, he's playing all the instrument parts by himself, through sheer manly willpower. Everyone else is just holding a prop.

  • I love this recording, but PLEASE fix the freeze at 4:11. It's been like that for over a year !!

  • was anyone else scared that something strange was going on when 2:12 came along? I know that's a crazy thing to say.... but I had to replay that moment...

  • He came to my brass camp today- phenomenal. Hit a triple high F. Really nice guy.

  • I MET HIM!

  • he is playing a vizzutti mouthpiece not sure on the horn although it looks like a yamaha

  • What type of mouth piece do you use?

  • Between Vizzuti and Marsalis...I prefer Vizzuti's version...but a better comparison is Vizzuti vs Ron Romm of the Canadian Brass. Basically the same arrangement...Romm played it faster, but Vizzuti gave it a bit more soul.

  • He's amazing. Currently performing at the University of Arkansas and he's soo nice and hilarious. Still in awe.

  • Any questions about Vizzutti?

I am not advertising in any way,

    im just sharing my intrests

  • @dtrob

3c concert band. (I ran out of characters)

  • @dtrob1993

it is very small, close to a .600 in. inner diameter. he says that 1c's and 3 c's are total crap and pieces of junk. Your equipment should be as efficient as possible and the smaller the better. Also notice that the corners of his mouth barely move, and thats the problem with most trumpet players in the upper register. THEY CLAMP DOWN. But as a reminder, it's not all about the mouthpiece; it will hope but it won't do everything. I play on a .600 00m curry for lead but larger for B

  • whoever dislikes this trumpet GOD is simply jelous

  • wow

  • i met him today in person...he was outstanding. he played a little of carnival for us too :D

  • Ok, I quit trumpet. He wins.

  • :O i could never be that AWESOME!!!! GO TRUMPET!!

  • I met him at band camp. My life will never be the same. :)

  • Man, I love the Del Staigers version.

  • he's probably playing on the one he got custom made cant remember the name

  • he's probably playing on the one he got custom made

  • I was there when he dropped his trumpet once

  • One day I wish he would drop his trumpet. Maybe then he would become mortal again.

  • @iharland ha, no such thing could ever happen.

  • @iharland gravity doesn't apply to him lol

  • I would be afraid the world might come to an end.

  • @iharland i saw him at an all-state band convention. he played and then walked out, but the accidentally hit the piano with his horn, smashing the bell. he then said "its alright, i get these for free" lol

  • @iharland Doesn't matter if he drops his trumpet, he's a yamaha artist, he gets free trumpets, apparently once he was doing a did, turned round and smashed his trumpet on the side of a piano and just shrugged it off!

  • his style is the best

  • Note who is conducting the band... Mr Roland Szentpali!

  • anyone know what kind of mouthpiece or what kind of horn he's playing?

  • @dtrob1993 not sure on the mouthpiece, but it looks like a yamaha horn to me.

  • @darknipple he plays xeno's. and i think his mouthpiece is a yamaha vizzutti custom

  • @darknipple Yeah, hes a yamaha man.

  • @GaryTheMoomau Yamaha ftw :-)

  • @darknipple It's a Yamaha Xeno

  • @darknipple yep yamaha zeno i belive

  • @darknipple It's a Yamaha and it's nothing special mothpiece. Just like a 3C I think.

  • @darknipple Yamaha gold plated xeno. I saw him last night at TAMU Commerce. Amazing.

  • @darknipple he plays on xeno's. the mouthpiece is probably custom

  • @darknipple yes allen endorses yamaha trumpets and he recently got a custom horn made by yamaha.

  • @darknipple The trumpet mouthpiece it a yamaha custom mouthpiece, and I think that the trumpet is a yamaha custom. The mouthpiece comes with the trumpet, and if I am correct it is labeled 16C4-GP.

  • @dtrob1993: Both the trumpet and the mouthpiece is made by Yamaha, and are both custom made. The trumpet is a Vizzutti Xeno model...

  • @dtrob1993 It is an Allen Vizutti custom mouthpiece. I have one and it is a pretty shallow cup but i love it. It gives a great Marching Band or Jazz tone.

  • @JDproducers is it any good for a darker, concert band tone?

  • @Guitarhero617

I like it for all around playing but it's not really a dark tone. It helps me GREATLY when i need to play heavy vibrato and it's great for dynamic contrast. The mouthpiece itself is very very versatile. I mean you can get a dark tone, you just have to figure out your embouchure and your good. It's worth the money. Believe me.

  • @dtrob1993 He plays the Vizzutti Signature Yamaha Mouthpiece and the ytr-9335vs (vizzutti model) yamaha trumpet.

  • @dtrob1993 It's a Yamaha Allen Vizzuti Signature model trumpet

and most likely a Yamaha Vizzuti model mouthpiece.

  • @dtrob1993 Allen Vizzutti Has his own signature mouthpiece. Yamaha recently added to there Artist signature series mouthpieces. Now you can buy and play the EXACT mouthpiece!

  • @dtrob1993 hey plays on a yamaha, this guy performed at my high school, and he spent a little time describing how much he loves playing on a yamaha

  • @dtrob1993 He worked with the same guy who developed the New York and Chicago Artist Model Yamaha's to develop a horn of his own- based off of a combination of those two basic models, but tweaked to his liking- and plated in gold. I think the model is something like the YTR9335 VS.

He also has a customized mouthpiece that you can find in a search from any retail supplier, it's sold through Yamaha also.

  • @dtrob1993 he has a signature horn and mouthpiece, both by yamaha. i'm pretty sure he's been using them pretty much exclusively for the past few years

  • @dtrob1993 Allen Vizzutti is a Yamaha artist who plays exclusively on Yamaha horns.

  • @dtrob1993 Well he's sponsored by Yamaha so the it's probably all costum made by Yamaha and very expensive.

  • @dtrob1993 Mouthpiece (amazing i love this mouthpiece)

Yamaha Allen Vizzutti Signature Series Trumpet Mouthpiece

Search for it on Musicians Friend

  • @dtrob1993 he is a yamaha musician and usually uses the xeno model horn, the mouthpiece is his own make by yamaha. It is somewhat shallower than a C cup but wide and almost a double cup. Makes for extreme flexibility.

  • @dtrob1993 not sure on the brand, but I read in an article that the size is about the equivalent to a 6 1/2c Bach.

  • @dtrob1993 not sure on the brand, but I read in an article that the size is about the equivalent to a 6 1/2c Bach.

  • @dtrob1993 he uses a yamaha ytr-9335V i think except his is gold plated and he uses his yamaha vizzutti signature mouthpiece

  • Once he starts playing, he is amazing! When he turns the trumpet upside-down, I like how he goes for a comical effect as he scrambles to turn the trumpet right side-up again.

  • i tried playing this. i came out alright. i won reginals but it didnt sound anything like this

  • such a frickin boss

  • thats as close to technical perfection as it gets.

  • WHAT THE FUCK? THE ENDING'S CUT OFF!

  • It´s a Yamaha. In one of his trumpet clinic videos he shows exactly what modell. But its a Yamaha. ^^

  • it's the Yamaha Xeno- Vizzutti line. lol

He told me in a lesson how he customized little things. Everything is where it is for a purpose and some things seem uneccesary but they're not

  • @TrumpetHero11.. I'm pretty sure he plays on a yamaha not bach.

  • is anyone elses video freezing around 3:40???

Its making super mad not to be able to see the end of this fricken awesome video >:(

  • @chseuphonium ...yeah it freezes exactly at 3:43...It's so disturbing. Especially because we were all excited about seeing the end.

  • He's one of the best classical trumpet players alive.

  • @daynelmarzo He's a very good trumpet player, but he doesn't really have that great of a sound for classical. More of a soloist than an ensemble player I guess.

  • @bkv22 I disagree with you. I think he has a very good sound for classical. We both have different opinions about that And that's perfectly fine, that's what the comments section's about..We post our opinions and views. However, we both agree on something...He's a very good trumpet player..:)

  • Wonder what brand of trumpet that is. Maybe a Custom Stradivarius.

  • Epic. No description needed. 42/10
