  • lol go to market search laucher and get it for free

  • telus released 2.2 now. just so you know!

  • does it really work fast 2.2 froyo on milestone?

  • @miiiikeh Yup! Apps run super smooth, and quadrant score is really high.

  • @ai4281 hey, thanks for the info!

  • @miiiikeh oh another question. how do u feel with the keyboard?

  • @miiiikeh keyboard is amazing, I love it. Droid 2 has better keyboard, but this one's not too bad when you get used to it.

  • @miiiikeh For me its very glitchy... What rom are you using? I'm on cyonagen

  • hi ..i need help from you..im running my milestone on rogers network and i would like to know if i can pay u to update my milestone with 2.2 ..txt me if u can 514-449-7993...thx

  • @silvergolf1 I'm guessing you're in Montreal, judging from your phone number. I'm not in that area. Sorry!

It's really easy to do though. I'll MSG you details.

  • @ai4281 can you post how to manually update to froyo?

  • @luc4666 Check youtube (DOT) com/techshin and watch the cyanogenmod video. Also, refer to XDA developers for guides and information!

  • umm the Telus milestone doesn't boot with the droid red eye...

Are you telling me that red eye is a result of putting the custom ROM on it?

  • @abcmissme That is correct. This particular ROM has the DROID boot logo. You can easily change the boot logo, you know ^^

  • FROYO.TV

    pour plus d'informations

  • wow howed you manage to get pass the signature verification error

  • @ajax1379 nandroid restore.

  • @ai4281 on unlockr.com cool thnx man

  • how did you fix the radio?

  • @bankaimaster999 there is a guide online. You back up about 5 files from your original ROM, and then overwrite them on the ones in the ROM. So this is basically restoring your original radio files. This works.

  • @ai4281 Can't seem to find the guide anywhere...can you please email it to me or give a link to it ..that would be much appreciated~

  • @bankaimaster999 XDA Developers -> Milestone Dev -> MotoFrenzy 2.2 or G.O.T 2.2.1

  • can i use that update for tmobile USA on my milestone?

  • @timerunnerproduction yeah definitely! Go to XDA-Developers for more info

  • recommend buy it?

  • @tatengue107 Nah, there are better phones out now. There is even a Milestone 2 right now. Where are you located?

  • @ai4281 I'm from Argentina, which is better for the same price?

  • @tatengue107 estoy averiguando lo mismo!

  • @ai4281 ................

  • @tatengue107 I don't know enough about Argentinian phone market to recommend anything, but DesireHD and DesireZ are excellent phones. I wouldn't go for Galaxy S because they're cheap feeling imo.

You could also check out Windows Phone 7 if you're not invested in Android already. I think WP7 has amazing phones, and the platform itself is pretty great as well.

  • @ai4281 excellent, I'm going to buy the Z Desire, like me, thanks

  • @tatengue107 Welcome! Post an unboxing/review video when you get it ^^

  • hi can u please please send me the info how i can get 2.2 froy for my milestone as ive tried these things elsewhere and it doesnt happen for me ,hope im doing it write im on 2.1 and bloody bored that they may not even get the 2.2 update, cheers ,im quite new to all this but ive done a few things

  • @jb317able XDA!

  • Comment removed

  • Ok no problem thank you either way.

  • Hi, how long does you battery last now with the 2.2 update with you web browsing and texting?

  • @tatiana320 On stock 2.1 I was getting about 14 hrs, on 2.2 I got 20 hrs. This is MY USAGE, and may differ for everyone else.

I definitely saw some increase in battery life. Since the whole OS is faster, you end up spending less time doing the same tasks.

  • @ai4281 Oh thanks for the info. Two more questions. When you had the stock 2.1 did your phone last 14 hours with browsing and texting, or was the phone on standby most of the time? Would you be willing to post a video on how you updated to the 2.2? Please

  • @tatiana320 I am a heavy user, so the device was on use for most of the time.

I would love to make a how-to video for applying new ROMs on the Milestone, but my Milestone is out for repair at the moment and it may take a few more weeks for it to return. I'll think about it!

Meanwhile, you can go to "Motorola Milestone Android Development" forum at XDA-developers to get more information. Have fun!

  • hi i have one question: when u donwload something it stored to microSD or phone memory?

  • @ImurderXD always microSD, since when you're flashing ROMs you are wiping the phone memory and installing a new ROM.

  • @ai4281 You don't actually flash Roms... its that you flash a nand backup.

the rom for the telus milestone is signed, so you would need a signed rom to flash it.

  • @TheNotDone That is true. I was referring to 'flashing' as applying new ROMs to a device in a broader sense, but your definition is semantically correct.

  • @ai4281 yeah I get what you're saying, but I just would hate for people to think that the milestone has been rooted for kernel access and modification.

the Motofrenzy backup is built on the stock telus 2.1 rom.. and hence doesn't give the full benefit of the newly compiled kernel.

I know it seems picky, but the community at XDA developers and other developer websites would be proud of the users for understanding the full extent of their work.

  • @ai4281

    Thanks for the video.

Can you please post some instuctions or links for the telus milestone update? (the roms, radio files, .. )

  • @kafshari XDA-developers, my friend!

  • I'm on Telus on a Milestone also, & tried running Motofrenzy 0.5c 4 a week. I had 2 uninstall because even after patching the radio files 4 Canadian carriers I was losing all connectivity every couple hours & ended up missing a lot of important calls. Flash in the browser was & is awesome, but it's simply not stable enough. I didn't create an ext2 partition 4 app2sd, & I didn't have JIT working either. I did like the ROM, so if you don't need yer phone 4 business, definitely try it out.

  • @zNinjaTube yeah there's something funky going on with the radio. I switched back to Fast & Lite Telus ROM.

  • @ai4281 You know what? Motofrenzy 0.52 with a few small tweaks is working VERY well for me now. I couldn't deal with no Flash after a while, so I put my hacking cap on and fixed the problems I was having somehow. Of course now we've got another choice in Cyanogen 6.1.0 for Milestone which has most if not all of what Motofrenzy has but with a working camera...I'm a bit nervous to rid my working Frenzy just to try Cyanogen tho...

  • @zNinjaTube Sounds good! Glad Cyanogen is finally here for Milestone users:) My Milestone is away from me on repair at the moment, but I will try definitely try that one when Milestone comes back. Thanks!

  • @CaptainMoemen DROID is a CDMA phone. Milestone is a GSM phone. Flashing a DROID rom on a Milestone would kill the 'phone' and 'network' function at best, and just brick the whole phone at worst.

If it was that easy, everyone would've done it already. Come on dude XD

  • how?

  • I want froyo in my milestone!!! in Argentina!! please!!

  • @maxriver21 You can try flashing the unofficial version like me, or wait for the official versions to hit Europe and flash the Argentina modded European ROMs. If you're willing to root and flash, there's nothing stopping you from getting Froyo :)

  • Hey did you manage to get app2sd to work. I cna't seem to. Same phone as yours too. also how did you install JiT? Thanks.

  • Hello, nice work. I have done the same with my milestone from Telus. Only problem I'm encountering is I can't get app2sd to work and I don't think I got the Jit installed. Keeps crashing on me. Did you manage to get this stuff working?

  • does anyone know if droid2 is coming to telus

  • @sm1tty5569 Not sure, but I don't think that phone is worth waiting for. You have to remember, Telus Milestone was released almost 6 months after the US Droid... In 6 months, we'll see 4.3 inch Android phones with dual-core snapdragon CPUs.

  • @harriisnotinabox lol do it!

  • @harriisnotinabox I'm running Motofrenzy 0.5a on the video. Had to manually install the radio files to get it to work with Telus though :)

  • @harriisnotinabox Yeah there aren't that many ROMs at the moment, but time will fix that! It hasn't been that long since the bootloader was unlocked :)
