I think the reason conservatves don't oppose the war is that they don't realize how many 4000 people is. It's very hard to comprehend that each and every one of those people is a son, a doughter, a brother or sister. I think that it's stupid for people to say that American's should be happy and support whatever America does. It's patriotic to question the geovernment, to want change. Beleave it or not war is needed to survive. Wars cut down on population, if not for WW2 the world would be overpopulated. Animals hunt and kill each other to keep there population down. The base of the GOP is strong. The "leaders" in Congress and the White House are what has weakened. They have abandoned their core beliefs and that explains the drops in approval and confidence. They won big on those basic beliefs in 2004, but lost big when they sold out, as reflected in 2006.

Those "hand outs" and "entitlements" are mostly paid for by the workers, who benefit. Everyone pools the money to help those of us that are having problems, like decent people do. It is actually for the benefit of all, because desperate people do desperate things, which can hurt others. If people are not starving, or trying to get help for their families, they will not hurt others in desperation. It is to the advantage of the wealthy to help the poor, making it safer for the wealthy.

Ideologically they may share a lot in common, but, according to your logic, the whole concept of social welfare is equal to Communism or Socialism. The recent criticism against such countries as China and Russia reminds me of "Japan Bashing" which took place in 1980s and 90s. It is a result of rapid economic growth which took place in those countries under the global capitalistic dynamism. The centralization of government does NOT necessarily imply the prsence of Communism. It is simply an efficient way for a country to gain economic strength.

ANSWER, the ACLU, and many other organizations are communist in origin and still pursue the agenda even today. Read the Communist Party USA's website for their agenda and you'll see the same agenda openly endorsed by those organizations, and even the Democratic Party's website. By the way, Putin was KGB. Better do some research... While Capitalism is far from perfect, it is a better choice than Socialism (akin to suicide) or communism (akin to homicide).

I have seen political rallies by the Communist Party in America's allies like Japan and India. Do you think the Communist is a major political force in those countries? They are clearly losing popular support. In France, their financial problem is so serious that they even seem to be considering about selling off some works by Pablo Picaso, who was a member of the French Communist Party. As for Russia, President Putin does NOT belong to the party.
