  • So is this what you use to pull sugar or blow sugar?

  • you should know the difference between light brown and dark brown because what the sugar wax in your video looks like is light brown

  • where's the weed!

  • Lol

  • all of you are saying you burnt it and this is too hard to do..

Im 12, made this... and got rid of my mustache.

    SHAMWOW.

  • Do you know the bbc program 'snog, marry avoid' ? it gives u tips on every program and she said 1 cup sugar, 1/4 lemon juice 1/4 water. how about if i wanted to make a tiny bit like for two strips?

  • tried this and i think i burned it....it became hard and wouldnt stick well to my skin :P

but the color seemed the same as the video ~

  • Instead of lemon you can use lime or Orange juice (not concentrated) or vinegar

  • @iluvladygaga4evr can i use brown sugar instead?

  • Nice, but this needs to have the very weak audio optimized before you upload these to youtube, make them at least as loud as your mp3 etc, so that it can be heard easily, there's hardly even a whisper here.

  • what is the purpose of lemon juice can it be done with ordinary sugar and water???

  • hihì_aný_gûÿs_wàñt_tØ_chat_wÍth_me

  • Ohhhh my I wasn't watching it and my stove caught on fire :(

  • i don't know what happened but the first time i made this recipe it turned out perfect. the last two times i made it, it stuck allover my hands and i couldn't touch it without it sticking to me everywhere. i had to use strips to get it off of me. the only thing i did different the last two times was instead of pouring it onto a cookie sheet, i just left it in the pot. do you think this has something to do with it? because it didn't cool properly? help!

  • lst time I checked it was 4 cups sugar, 1/4 cups lemon, 2/4 cup water

  • I'm about to try it, wishing myself luck! O.o Don't want a stranger to have to do it for me. Thanks for the video.

  • @KatonaBoat Id suggest using numbing spray if it hurts too much,

  • has anyone tried this? does it actually work?

  • i tried mine today...and it was over cooked..... sigh..

  • Hey Amy..umm ive seen a few of your videos and tried making some before..but you have different sugar in them. Can you PLEASE say what kind of sugar you are actually using in that particular video ? THanks (:

  • @KaylaSquared97 serious, she said white sugar, which is regular refined sugar you find anywhere.

  • Are you supposed to stir it while it's cooking?

  • this didn't work for me at all, I followed the instructions but it turned out like a taffy texture that wouldn't stick to my skin and that dried too fast

  • can i use instead of lemon, lime juice??? thankssss

  • is it ok to use bottled lemon juice?

  • this turned into a DISASTER for me! i used too small of pan, so it bubbled over and went up in smoke. it left ashes and a huge spill over the stove. the whole room filled with smoke!

  • can i use this for face waxing?

  • It also helps to buy a candy thermometer to make sure your batch doesn't burn! 250 degrees Farenheit and it should be a dark amber color. Let it cool completely before using.

  • omg how do u do it! it was so hot it burnt my sis....how do u make it where it wont burn ya?????

  • i ripped off a mole.... now what?

  • I have a question. why is lemon juice needed?

  • @catnips0addict it acts as a natural preservative.

  • @xueli1995 you can use it anywhere :) except your head :D

  • @catnips0addict why cant u use it for ur head??

  • @xHaxiejj lol. that's a silly question. why do you want to wax off the hair on your head anyway? how long is your hair though? don't you think if you wax it it's so painful? :))

  • @catnips0addict hahahaha sorryyyy i mean my face XD

  • how long do you wait after you make the wax till you can use it? thank you!!!

  • how long do you wait after you make the wax till you can use it? thank you!!!

  • as a kid I use to make this but to eat it XD

  • I don't have lemon, so can I use lime instead? Would it make any difference?

  • Can I use lime instead

  • Love your videos! Just a word of caution: Do not let hot wax touch your skin till it is cooled. Yes I know this is common sense but I had a bit of an accident.. nothing too sever since it was just one drop that touched my finger but it burns pretty bad. It took a little while for it to stop stinging. I now have a bubble the size of a small pencil eraser in the spot where I accidentally dripped it. It will heal. I just wanted to warn people. Don't do what I did. I recommend wearing oven mitts.

  • my it a liquid and when i put the strip on nothing is pulled away

  • Can I replace the sugar with honey? n___n

  • can u use any sugar

  • So I used vinegar instead of lemon juice . Lol is that bad

  • do you have to have lemon juice? what does it do?

  • I dont know why but I have tried this so many times and its either to liquidy or its stone hard by the time its touchable i burn myself every single time what am i doing wrong ?

  • @bessyakabossy you need to let it cool down, i take a spoon and dip it in to the wax then wait for it to cool down and try it. here's info from the site with the recipe : "If it is too hard, reject it and make a new patch, you heated too long * If it is too liquid, heat once more, or make a new batch"

  • Would it make a difference if you use brown sugar or white sugar? Which one is more good or preferred?

  • Doesn't the sugar caramelize if you put it in on high right away?

  • can u replace the lemon juice with something else?????REPLY

  • question. 1/4 lemon juice as in... freshly squeezed right from lemons or those prepared lemon juices that come in bottles... ORRR... lemon juice as in lemon juice that has been diluted from water and with sugar that you drink from.

  • Will a meat thermometer measure this accurately or should I get a candy one?

  • @m0rdecai89

I'm not sure if there's a difference in temperature ranges with a meat thermometer.

you don't even have to use a thermometer if you don't want to. I only have used one once

  • @Amy11190 250 degrees, is 250 degrees. No matter how you slice it :)

  • @Amy11190 meat thermometers will not work as a candy thermometer

  • @m0rdecai89 Meat thermometers only go to 200 F or so, not hot enough for boiling sugar

  • @m0rdecai89 Meat thermometers only go to 200 F or so, not hot enough for boiling sugar

  • Hard-Ball Stage: 250° F265° F.. you should go for this temp to get the right consistency ;)

  • Can you store this wax?

  • So it will go thinner and not darker right like regular wax??

  • hey is it okey to use, if i burn the wax??

  • I am TERRIBLE!!!! at making this. Not sure what I'm getting wrong, but it just won't turn out right. :/

Have you ever considered making and selling? haha

  • @alyshadawn15 me too!!! I can't do it!!

  • @alyshadawn15 me too.. so i reheated it.. and it really hurts alot .. T.T

  • @alyshadawn15

lol no I haven't but I may one day :p

it just takes lots of practice to get it right for most people. Others manage to do it perfectly their first try!

  • wow thanks... i just heard of sugaring, and im going to try to make some!

but i was wondering how you got into sugaring or how you first found out about it. also, where did you get the recipe from? when i was looking online, this is the recipe i see alot, but then there are also others.. have you tried those? if you did, does this work the best?

    thank you sooo much

  • It's a long story how I got into it but I did a lot of research online to find out as much info as I could before I started waxing and made my videos. I have tried a few other recipes and this one has worked the best for me so far. Once I tried one that used less water and juice and it hurt so freaking bad lol

  • @Amy11190 if i reduce the amount of sugar to 1 cup how much water and lemon juice would i use?

  • i used some wax (not this wax) on my nose and i cant take off the remains please someone help? lol

  • hmm, lol well anytime wax is left on the skin use an oil to remove it. Gently rub in the oil and wait a minute and begin to pick off or roll off the remaining wax :)

  • me, again... I meant that I wish you would do a video demonstrating you taking off the plastic and working it into the taffy consistency. Mine is just a gloppy mess and I have used the candy thermometer, so I'm sure I cooked it long enough. Would you try and show us this?

  • I read that some people have to let it cook until the candy thermometer reached 260 instead of 250, especially if they live in warmer climates :)

  • I will try within the next few weeks :-)

  • Hi, Amy! I really wish you could show how it looks when you take it off the plastic and work it into a usable form. I've tried the recipe twice, now and it just doesn't look like "taffy" like yours does.

  • i see that the water and the juice covers the sugar... but if i use the amount u say, it doesn't cover it at all!! so it never looks transparent like yours :'( ... what cna i do?? should i use more water until it covers the sugar, or what else am i missing?

  • When I've made wax recently I see that it is very milky and isn't clear until I start to heat it and the sugar dissolves. If you want your wax to be a little less thick you could try adding just a bit more water

  • do you really need lemon juice and what does the lemon juice even do to the recapie

  • Yep lemon juice is one of the three major ingredients. You can also use lime juice if you need to

  • Mine is really runny... can you tell me what i can do to fix it? thanks <3

  • If it's too runny then it's not cooked enough

  • can i use powder sugar????

if i can how much should i use???

  • Umm I really don't think that will work. Powdered sugar is of a totally different consistency

  • Can bottled lemon juice be used?

  • That's what I use constantly

  • Does it need to be fresh squeezed lemon juice? Or can the pre-squeezed, store-bought variety be used?

  • I use the kind out of the bottle from the store

  • It sounds like you didn't quite cook it long enough

  • I have heard that lime juice will work

  • oh thank god

when it started bubbling i thought i was doing something wrong

  • lol no you didn't

  • can i use splenda as the sugar

  • Probably so!

  • No, the chemical makeup is not the same, you would have to use different ammounts of splenda than sugar. Besides, sugar is cheaper, and it's not like you can absorb calories throught your skin :}

  • can you please answer, what i did wrong? I boiled sugar till the amber color then cooled it a bit, but it just gets harden and I can not knead it :( sugar becomes a simple lollipop.

  • Is it still warm when you knead it? If it isn't then it'll be too hard. Another possibility is that you overcooked it. Adding just a tiny little drop of water and kneading it in might help too.

  • I'm pretty sure that makes a big difference.

  • i got confused on the drak brown part

  • omg i cant believe this!! i've actually successfully done it on the 1st try!!! i'm so excited! and it works WONDERFULLY!!! i dont know why people claim it to be so hard to make.. it's so easy! well at least for me~ now i can have hairless smooth leg that i've always dream of.. i'm so happy!!! XDDD thanks ALOT amy i owe u one!!! *hugs*

  • thanks I'm glad it worked for you :-)

  • Ya burned it star28gentian. I have done that so many times! Just be really careful next time and keep the heat down. Also every now and then while it's in its final stage of cooking, turn off the heat and look at it after the bubbles clear to make sure it's not getting too dark.

  • ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! that is where i when wrong i burned it......

  • Ok, so i tried to make this and something went wrong! I think i like burnt it or something! It didn't seem to go through all the stages it is supposed to go though, it just was the white color and than it bubbled up and than the bubbles never went away, but it got brown and thick so i thought maybe it was ready, because like it was a dark brown/amber color but it would not work, it dried way to easily and than got hard as a rock! im confused what i did wrong! please help!

  • if its too hard.. put a little bit of water, and then put it in the microwave. once the sugar paste is nice and watery now mix in the water really well. then put a few drops of the mixed mixture on ur finger and check if it actually works once its cooled down. btw put it in the microwave like 15 seconds. use the water very sparingly or it will be too thin

  • thanks!

gota get ready for summer time ;)

  • nope not as far as I know!! :)

  • Thanks for the video, I'm going to try it this weekend. Does it matter what type of lemon juice you use?

  • sorry the second video wont load but I'm trying

  • and then? :)
