Did it ! thanks to the brutal video... when you blink from the 3rd tendril, don't go right to the flank to the west, teleport to a corner next to the ramp at 10, there are only 2 zerglings, and wait a few seconds for the cooldown, then go south far enough so that when you blink again you get directly on the beacon.

I'm so pissed... impossible to get to the last tendril, there are much more zerglings and broodlings than in the video... and I'm running as fast as him. And I restarted several times. They must have patched it, I'm sure of it.

@jimloader2 they never did, i also managed doing it on brutal, but you have to put some thoughts to the last tendril, at least i had some problems getting blocked by the broodlings ^^

Very important detail: Do not use Autosave. It loses you some 1 sec before you can move after the tendril is read. Make own savepoint WHILE reading tendril and then you are prepared to move.

if you're having trouble with the progress from second to third tendril, put an observer near the third tendril so that you actually can see the target of blinking. that makes it far easier for zeratul to blink as it is shown in the video...

tip with the third tendril prism the baneling after infestor then blink across the gap you get really close to the tendril without anything in your way and when i did this i finished it final hp count: 5 or 15 way too close to death for my liking

@donnycage I has this problem as well, following this guide. Either it has been patched or the video-maker just got a lucky run. But at 2:08 in the video. Void Prism the zergling next to the spinecrawler, which is next to the hatchery. This way, you wont get trapped in. then blink as the video shows to the blue circle.

I finished with a time of 5:11 on Brutal doing a similar strategy. My problem was getting between tendrils 2 and 3, but I used a similar route. I ended up running to the outskirts of the top right base to let my shields charge, then I found out you can void prison a spore crawler and have a bit of area to stay cloaked in. I think with some luck, Brutal can be done in just about the same amount of time.

Also, if you bring your observer, you can use it to give sight over ledges to blink to.

@MirajLP no luck necessary.. it's even easier if you take an observer into the central area and move it around as necessary. It lets you cut corners sharper by blinking over larger areas. Zeratul shouldn't take nearly as much damage as in this vid. (And you don't need to power up your base.)

I found an easier way to get to three, and I think it's a bug. Right after two, instead of blinking to the ramp, just run up it. Immediately after the ramp run all the way left and blink onto that island you can see (you won't actually blink onto the island). This will land you right underneath the circle and you just run right in. It's really easy and it doesn't rely on luck! Hope this helps, let me know what you guys think.

Well this is frustrating, while everyone else seems to be able to complete this speed run, I keep bashing my head against the wall because of tendril 4. FOR SOME REASON the hydras around it in my game are surrounding the hotspot. There's basically no way I can blink over, hustle past the defenses and around the hydras before they blast my ass to pieces! WTF ARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!

I will eventually get it, but my biggest problem so far is the third one. Not so much that they kill zeratul so fast, as that they GET IN HIS GOD DAMN WAY AND BLOCK ME. It's infuriating that they get in the way and blink is on cooldown. Then they converge and I'm dead.

that third one wasn't too hard for me, remember you can use that void whatever to stun things, like spine crawlers. The fourth one was the worst for me. What finally worked was running zeratul almost to the last point, void blasting that one spine crawler right past the third point on the way, and just blinking to back/front of the fourth point and getting onto it. Took me about 15 tries I think...

Finally got it, after much frustration (and I would have stood no chance without this great walkthrough vid).

One thing that caused particular frustration was Zeratul actually getting stuck behind broodlings, BEFORE the brood lord even launched them. That had me pulling my hair out (and swearing, lots of swearing).

@MirajLP I think the problem is the unit pathing (which, in the single player, is terrible at times). I order Zeratul to go a certain way, and he gets stuck, just slightly, near a spine crawler, and stutters just enough to get surrounded by zerglings.

If there's one major fault with this game, it's the unit pathing.

@MirajLP I must have tried it almost 50 times now and there's just no way. I've tried everything but end up getting blocked in by zerglings and battered. Also, everytime I blink, Zeratul runs back on himself towards the hydralisks - which costs time too. Very frustrating :(

@InitiumNovum First of all, don't start over with the autosaves if you fail. If you want to make sure you can save some seconds using a savegame, save manually when Zeratul just hits the triggers. Otherwise you lose one important second after the third trigger.

When a couple of zerglings try to block you, just attack the one that's in your way as long as it isn't moving yet. You one hit it and can smoothly pass along.

@Wazgrel Two things, I did it in 5:12 since I took time killing some units for fun so that wouldn't affect me. Second, they aren't going to take away an achievement in a single player campaign.. Let alone ban you lol.. Are you kidding me? This isn't like cheating in the multiplayer. It's using paths that are in range on a map where you are given a unit that can blink to them.

@diablodude5 that one is too easy, just get like 10 or maybe even less dark templars, then what i d is just run them strait through the base infront of the three improsonned elders. From there there are no detectors behind the base so just destroy all three and ur home free, takes like 13 mins

Well no matter what you actual do, if you have a small army and 3+ Collosus its allready enough to run them over.

The real "skill" is the Zeratul only rush, that looks at least somehow cool.
