I'm also a EFD/EMD. The caller clearly spelled the street and she should have asked for cross streets. Also, if it was a land line or a Cell phone, she should have got something that clued her into the location.
Get the Cross Streets!! Duh! Also, E911/ANI should have popped the address of the neighbor's house (where she was calling from) onto the call-takers console.
I am a 911 dispatcher, we are required to get a cross street on every call. We have multiple streets of the same name in our county. If the address si wrong, it wont populate in our CAD or our map. I know with some calls it is hard to hear when people are yelling or upset, but this seemed pretty clear to me.....
@carrielynn911 yeah at first the lady spelled it with an s then the dispatcher confused the caller by continuing to start the street with a 'c'. the call was clear and even i dont understand why she didnt get it right
YES SHE CAN AND SHOULD HAVE DISPATCHED THAT CALL!!! let me just say most dispatchers...at least me....would have gotten the closest cross streets. thats what should be done if an address does not go into the cad! we are here to help! god knows we dont do this job for the money.
In this case-we can clearly hear the address---so--not to make any excuses--- unfortunately if the communication room is loud or the dispatcher can not get the address to accept in the computer she cant dispatch the call with the cad system.
Fire that dumb bitch. No pun intended.
