You're playing the right notes, but there are a few moves you're missing. Mainly, sliding into chords (to & fro)

sorry about that, I stand corrected. They did play this with a Strat; at least on the original promo vid. I'd only seen them using what looked like a Gretsch but have seen some hideous attempts on You Tube with Ibanez axes with completely the wrong sound. I've nothing against any of these guitars, but there is a time and place for all of them. My guitar of choice varies between a Tele copy and a 1962 Hofner President Thinline so I'm no guitar snob.

@dafishguru I play ZZ Top with my Tele. Roll back the tone on the neck pickup and crank the gain and it sounds somewhat similar to a les paul. can't beat the thick sound of humbuckers with it but it's a good replacement for someone who can't afford another guitar lol
