@lion3p0 Sadly, no. There's a great deal of racism and bigotry still in Oklahoma, and right wing thugs who think anything showing respect for human beings is, to use their vapid vocabulary, "PC". They still use the hateful term "R**skins", and one of the top football programs in the nation is Tulsa Union, which uses that racial slur, getting a lot of national attention for their fine play and embarrassing Oklahoma with their rancid mascot. Should have disappeared decades ago.
...meow...(...I do see why High Schools were being targeted for this type of change, especially in Oklahoma, because the atmosphere in the learning environment was being affected: the age of the students and views as stereotypes. This contrasts the adult professionalism of the NFL teams and viewpoints of equality: Mrs. Sainz and the NY Jets and the immediate response that indicated intolerance of discrimination...)
Wow beautiful. I love the multi religions that are represented to explain how our feather is like your cross...our regelia is like the priest's robes. There would never be a mascot called "Father Paul" dressed in priests robes and holding out a cross! (Muslim or Jewish kid). I myself would stand up agaist that. It is just an outrage. Institutionalized or not it is indeed wrong!
I wholeheartedly support this bill, and it's about time. Who are these people who are so full of hate? I will never understand why anyone would oppose or say such terrible things. This hatred is scary and chills me to the bone.
U know wut I think. I think that every couple of years a couple of these hippy racial equality freaks get a hair up their ass about something, and all of us sane people end up getting screwed by it! I can almost see why theyd be mad about this because its savage county, and about teams like redskins and redmen, but high schools like mine who have names from the indian tribes that live their(their even what my town is named after)who indians even admit r honored by should get to keep their names
As you are misrepresenting the honored German service with the rascist leanings you hold and they do not...I have to call you out on your ignorance. I with my native heritage..and many of my friends full and partial blood do not in any way fell honored by your mascots. So you may lie to yourself... but be advised... it is a lie nonetheless.
When the Native Americans in Oklahoma start lying, fleecing the public out of their hard earned money, building mansions, and flying in private jets (Kenneth Copeland) then they can be seen as a religious entity and taken seriously.
Excellent Video. Great to see the support on our Non-Indian Friends/organizations. We need more of this. Maybe Oklahoman's will begin to see what the REAL issue is now. Great Work!! Keep it up! Mvto. D. Narcomey, Seminole Nation Council Representative.
That gathering of people who spoke at the Tulsa Press Club were some of the best speakers I ever heard speak on the mascot issue. It was heartwarming.
was it passed or not?
