I would bet that Glenn Gould loved and studied this great version.
(BTW he wasn't particularly fond of this piece--disliked it, in fact, even though it;s one of his more famous). landowska was truly one of the great artists of the last century, forgotten to an extent because of the "weird" instrument she mastered.
I have listened to this recording for 40 years and can never get enough. I compared it to many other interpretations, piano and harpsichord and must say, this is absolutely the greatest.
Playing Bach on a harpsicord is the way to go and this lady totally masters the whole thing. I don"t have the luxury to have a harpsicord but I do have a digital piano with harpsicord simulation (better than nothing) and this is my inspiration for my work !
I feel she is one of the few that can express without slowing down in a sort of "fake expression" - yes, she absolutely plays rubato - and can keep a pulse - among her other exceptional musical qualities -- best performance I have ever heard - and I mean that!
@eagerek Why don't you link us to your video so you can show us how it should be played? Yeah, I thought so... If you're going to criticize Wanda's playing you sure as hell be able to play this piece better than she does. Otherwise, don't criticize.

She does slow down at points, extremely tastefully. Beatiful!

she is perfect but somewhat mechanical. Not even tiny tempi changes to give expression...

She breathes life into Bach's music. She transcends the instrument and time itself. Her playing is timelessly modern.
