Hey can I ask the maker of this what he thinks of the show "American Kill"? about marines in Iraq. I really enjoyed it and fully support the troops. I'm 45 noww and disabled but if I could I would join and fight for my country. I'm even thinking about trying to help out by sending things like camping toilets (they had a make-shift one out of wood on the show) and I thought maybe I could help out in that way by sending one or two to marines over there. @cmdesign01 The Show your talking about was "Generation Kill". About Recon Marines and there part of the assault in baghdad. They used the wood crates that hold together ammo boxes as tiolet seats. Good show.

hey all, yes i commented on the truck because in the video its refered to as a technical truck not a VBIED, of course its alot different when your there , over there i am sure the tank crew were always observant, i mean you could get a RPG round fired at you from any direction etc, so i understand them wanting to take no chances, but i am puzzled over the shooting of this truck. its not going fast at all and theres no visable cargo (explosives) in the back.

Listen when you see a convoy going down a road you know to stay away a certain distance. Have you not seen humvees with signs saying "stay back XXX number of feet?" Most of the civilians know to stay away from convoys. You can't tell me if your in a convoy and a truck keeps coming towards you ignoring your warnings you aren't going to do something about it. ENOUGH SAID!
The odds of that being a technical truck is very high, if you pay attention throughout the whole video there are no cars in oncoming trafic or on thier side of the road. Which would lead these tankers to asume that, that truck isnt just driving to go to the store...

@RancidElf32 I was a tanker in Desert Storm and we didn't stop to worry about who was in what vehicle. If it was in front of us and looked threatening it got shot with a sabot, HEAT or coax. People who have never served don't have a clue. A camel 3000 meters away don't look like a camel but a boxy "hot spot" in the TIS and so there are a few dead camels laying in the Iraqi desert too. @aberhan78 Actually, if you drive into a conoy of enemy heavy armor in a civilian truck, you're asking for it. There's such thing as a VBIED (Vehicle-borne improvised explosive device) that will drive up to tanks and detonate.
These soldiers were experiencing heavy combat, and they weren't going to take any chances. As you can see, that was a combat zone and there were no civilians in the area.

Hey can I ask the maker of this what he thinks of the show "American Kill"? about marines in Iraq. I really enjoyed it and fully support the troops. I'm 45 noww and disabled but if I could I would join and fight for my country. I'm even thinking about trying to help out by sending things like camping toilets (they had a make-shift one out of wood on the show) and I thought maybe I could help out in that way by sending one or two to marines over there. Can someone get back with me on this?

Your not suppose to have a civillian drive next to a U.S. Military convoy because its considered a hostile act... @McDogginified ,but they drove right and the speed was normal to avoid the tanks also there wasn't a car bombs using by Iraqi army , i think it was possible to give them such a chance to give up and move away from the car, i do not know why that tank fired on them.

Trust me, My dad could tell you a whole story about the difference between "Hostile and Friendly"... Like I said before just because it looks innocent doesen't mean it is. @Scuurge thanks man, i guess the first part of the videos really shocked me. If I was 8 years old I would so want to go kill some =other people= from inside one of those tanks. My animal self likes the kill but I have tamed it fairly well...so I see people as mates now and create peace...even violent people. 20 years of Martial Training allows me to be very nice to folks foreign and domestic. Who would kill a baby, that's how many adults look like to me.

i had a buddy that was in the 3rd marine diivsion and i think he said he was in this action. he said it was organized chaos and that they were moving so fast that the iraqi miltary was on their heels and pretty much Routed...i remember that norman rockwell moment of bag dad bob saying " there are no americans in bagdad" that was priceless and on CNN you could see a armored columm parked under those giant swords in bagdad ...that was a proud moment for me

hey all, yes i commented on the truck because in the video its refered to as a technical truck not a VBIED, of course its alot different when your there , over there i am sure the tank crew were always observant, i mean you could get a RPG round fired at you from any direction etc, so i understand them wanting to take no chances, but i am puzzled over the shooting of this truck. its not going fast at all and theres no visable cargo (explosives) in the back.

I rolled into Baghdad with 3/66 Armor 4TH ID about 10-13 days after this. In no way would anyone with peaceful intentions try to roll up beside as much as a HMMWV, let alone a Company of Abrams in the midst of this!
And even if, IF!, they were innocent, you had technicals (Civilian vehicles set as VBIEDS, transports, weapons platforms for you name it) all over Baghdad.

anyways, It was an amazing video, the footage in there is priceless. Crazy crewman putting his camera out there like that. Ive never seen an american tank engage soviet era armor before. So seeing that Brdm-2 in flames and the fact they actually took out a bmp2 is jaw dropping and Zu-23, rpg teams :O. Thumbs up on the video.

Listen when you see a convoy going down a road you know to stay away a certain distance. Have you not seen humvees with signs saying "stay back XXX number of feet?" Most of the civilians know to stay away from convoys. You can't tell me if your in a convoy and a truck keeps coming towards you ignoring your warnings you aren't going to do something about it. @RancidElf32 I was a tanker in Desert Storm and we didn't stop to worry about who was in what vehicle. If it was in front of us and looked threatening it got shot with a sabot, HEAT or coax. People who have never served don't have a clue. A camel 3000 meters away don't look like a camel but a boxy "hot spot" in the TIS and so there are a few dead camels laying in the Iraqi desert too. @aberhan78 Actually, if you drive into a conoy of enemy heavy armor in a civilian truck, you're asking for it. There's such thing as a VBIED (Vehicle-borne improvised explosive device) that will drive up to tanks and detonate.
These soldiers were experiencing heavy combat, and they weren't going to take any chances. As you can see, that was a combat zone and there were no civilians in the area.
