When my mom starts talking of the past,it always starts off with 'we were poor back then,we were all poor back then'.Most areas people didnt even have shoes and when they were available some still didnt use them.Charlie seen alot of this first hand and i think brought alot of humility to him especially during the tramp years.But the people accepted him as one of their own.He will never be forgotten
The USA really screwed this guy....He made movies that gave immigrants and people living through the depression an escape from the hell they lived through everyday, and the US thanks him by saying, F you, your a commie.
