  • that was a great highlight video of Kovalchuk.

  • anyone else with they can deke like kovy?..

  • @Camps2630 datsyuk

  • Terrible rendition of one of the best songs ever. Bruce is so much better. you should use the live version from live after death.

  • Can you guys imagine him and Zach on the same team for the next 15 years......DEVILS FOR LIFE!!!

  • he stops so fast at 4:01 , its seriously wild

  • LOL 0:55, 2 on 1 with kovulchuck, the other guy is just skating along for the ride with one hand on his stick cause he knows there aint no pass comin!

  • Welcome to 17 years in hell!!!

  • when will he fucking sign with someone already? its getting ridiculous now. as a devils fan i dont even care that he comes back anymore. gives us more cap room for parise and zajac anyway for next year

  • @xFALCONPUNCHxx kovy re-signed with new jersey

  • @habs4ever76 they just rejected his contract, im kinda worried now

  • @met86MaNiac57 Honestly, as much as I DO NOT see Kovalchuk fitting in on the Devil's team... don't worry bout it. They will simply trade or buy out someone hogging cap space and re-sign kovalchuck.

  • @met86MaNiac57 yea its gay the nhl let franzen hossa keith and other players do the same thing as kovy is doing and now they wont let the devs do it......

  • @habs4ever76

not to the same degree. half of a 17 year contract is expected for Kovi to play, the salary numbers clearly reflect this. There needs to be a ratio threshhold for these front loaded contracts and kovi's is definitely past it.

I gotta say though I'm pretty excited for NJ and Kovi. I think their coach might really help him find his team game. Just imagine if Kovi gets better and gels with a line!

  • @amadisdemitrius pronger's deal is front loaded too, he'll be making the same at the end of it as kovy would make with this deal, but yeah if kovy becomes a devil, him and Elias will be unstoppable

  • song ??

  • kings are the front runner i know it's not announced but watch he'll end up in LA so i hope Chicago doesn't match the HJ offer sheet

  • Round 'n round Kovalchuk goes... where will he sign... nobody knows...

  • Kovy rumors: Isles offer 100mi/10yrs and Devils 80mil/8yrs. Kovy says "He doesn't want to sign with the devils until he says the cap moves/players traded before they are going to need to make to sign him" If they don't do those moves soon, he says he'll likely go to the isles who have $20mil+ in cap room by this week. The devil's need to clear ~7.5mil just to sign him and stay under the cap, so it's not going to be easy if they do it now or later. That's the rumor mill update, no KHL for now.

  • @Jothemano I'm a Kings fan and I really would LOVE to get Kovi but he's simply asking for a ridiculous amount of money, he's not worth 10 a year. Datsyuk only gets paid about 6 a year and I don't think Kovi is worth more than Pavs, and he's certainly not worth ovechkin money. This whole kovi situation is a joke and it's slowly killing me

  • @RussianAssassin21 I'd argue he could be worth ovechkin money if he pulls the trigger on his shot more, I could see him scoring 50+ if he does that. His shot is flat out amazing and No.2 in the league to Ovechkins, but kovy's a lot more accurate. From what I've researched, I'd say kovi is worth $6-$8mil/yr, no more no less. Datsyuk gave detroit a discount like many players do to help their team afford other good players for a stanley cup title chance. That aside, Datsyuk is worth $7-$8mil now.

  • @RussianAssassin21 i agree. this whole thing is getting really dumb. brodeur doesnt get 10 a year. ovechkin doesnt get 10 a year. crosby doesnt get 10 a year. why should he?

  • @xFALCONPUNCHxx well its not 10 years per year

Infact Ovechkin will earn more overall. Kovalchuk's pay differs from year to year while Ovechkin gets his 9 mil every year. Kovy will 6mil first teo years then 11 for 5years 10 and by the end only 0.5 mil. C'mon Luongo gets 10 a year now!!!

  • future islander!!!

  • Kovalchuk is an overrated piece of shit and anybody who knows hockey, knows this. He is the Terrell Owens of hockey. He will NEVER win a Cup. He does not have the heart to win a Cup.

  • @TwanBeezy that comment was so stupid,i cant even say much about it,get your had out of your ass and just watch one of the greatest shooters in the game to work,,,,,,,,,,dumbass

  • @AMMO211 head*

  • @TwanBeezy LMFAO. Kovalchuk is arguably the best all around player in the nhl. He's got great speed, great size, snipes as good as anyone or better in the game, passes very adequately, is an 80-90pt player on a non-playoff team, is a physical force, fights from time to time, and PLAYS WITH TONS OF HEART. He's pretty much a little smaller and more well rounded ovechkin. I could only imagine who you think the best player in hockey is. roflcopter. Go back to the dungeon you came from troll.

  • @Jothemano--I didn't say that Kovalchuk is a bad player; I said he's overrated. A person could be overrated and still be good. I just wanna know; what makes Kovalchuk think he's worth $10 million per year? I don't usually judge a player's ability straight by numbers because I often times find them misleading, but if you wanna talk numbers, Kovalchuk has yet to have a 100 point season. I don't think any player should have the audacity to make $10 million demands when they haven't done so.

  • @Jothemano--I would take Zetterberg at $6 million per year any day of the week over Kovalchuk and in doing so, would get myself a true winner and team player rather than my team being injected with Kovalchuk.

  • @TwanBeezy Is kovalchuk worth $10 million a year, arguably not unless he's getting those 90-100 points/season and getting a team to the conference finals or deeper at least every other year. You can't ask him to get you to a cup by himself. He is once person. Crosby isn't a superstar without malkin, Ovechkin isn't a superstar without semin or backstrom on his team. IMO, Kovalchuk has been more then great playing with nobodies throughout his career in atlanta.

  • @TwanBeezy REPLY CONT: Honestly, give kovalchuk half a season or a full season to mesh with parise on NJ or Taveras on NYI and I guarantee you, you will see kovalchuk at another level becoming that 90-100pt player like crosby/ovechkin. I believe you are underrating kovalchuks play. He is one of the best players in the NHL, unquestionably. Your interpretation of being overrated is idiotic though. Salary? Really? I guess lebron is overrated at being the 2nd best player in the NBA then b/c he is

  • @TwanBeezy (cont): going to get $25 million a year and he's never been a winner even with an entire team specifically built around him. Please, he is great no matter what cost. Let's be real and make a few things clear.

    1. Is kovalchuk overrated as a player? No, he is a superstar and great all around player.

    2. Does he deserve $10mil/yr? Probably not, but only the future will tell that. He makes it to 2-3 stanley cups and the playoffs every yr in those 10yrs, then yes he is worth every penny.

  • @TwanBeezy

    3. Is zetterberg a better player then him? Hell no, the zetterberg comment was stupid. You can't honestly know the nhl and think zetterberg brings more to a team then kovalchuk. I would have accepted a few names, not z. If you talk money, then I find stamkos 95pts/yr on a horrible team for under $1mil/yr the best deal out there.

    4. Is Kovalchuk a winner? We won't find that out till he is put on a line that he can make the most of his potential. Give a yr of mesh time too for this.

  • @Jothemano You are certainly entitled to your opinion on this matter. I am honestly not trolling though; I genuinely hate Kovalchuk and think he's overrated, and I really don't understand the shock factor of me making this kind of comment. There are plenty of factors that will contribute to whether a player is overrated, one of them being the player's salary. Obviously, general opinion on the player's skill level (which is where you fall into), points or lack of points contribute as well.

  • @Jothemano I mention points because I find that often times, in hockey, many people who do not actually watch the game wanna talk about how great a player is simply based on his statistics. Conversely, this is where players fall into the category of being underrated because they do not put up a ton of points, yet they are completely undervalued and do not get a whole lot of recognition for their performance. You can't just watch a highlight video of Kovy and say he's awesome.

  • @Jothemano You have to look at the whole picture. He is not solid defensively. I have seen him play in games where, he straight up looks lazy out there. I don't deny that he's an offensive threat, but he is not that great in his own zone. He had a +/- of -12 for two seasons in a row with the Thrashers. Now, I understand the deceptive nature of the +/- statistics, but for someone who puts up as many points as he does, a -12 is awful. It is a great stat to see the forwards that don't play D.

  • @TwanBeezy You can’t look at plus and minuses of people on horrible teams, it’s honestly an overrated statistic. It’s just not fair. For example, Toronto’s phil kessel, a great offensive and defensive player, is a -8 60pt player and a great defensive forward, he’s on the penalty kill main line for pete’s sake. And Malkin last year, was a -6 on one of the best teams in the east. That’s a 100pt player who isn’t a defensive liability in the negatives. Not everyone's a Hossa.

  • @TwanBeezy Cont: Even more so, Bret Hull who score 741 goals was only a career +23. It’s a pointless stat. Main point, I’ve watched kovalchuk play a lot too. Is he a great defender? No. Is he a defensive liability? No. He is what he is, and that’s a superstar offensive player and an ok defensive player. But, for someone so skilled offensively and only average on defense is fine with me. It’s VERY HARD to find people who are masters in both departments of the game. Hossa is a freak.

  • @TwanBeezy Con: Gretzky is also a good example of what you are trying to say. Gretzky was a shitty defender for the most part, at best adequate on a good day. Are you going to say his offense doesn’t overcome his lack in defense? You have to remember how hard it is to do both. Offensive defenseman that are great defensively are gold and vice versa.

  • @TwanBeezy Look at paul martin for example. He was without question the most important person on NJ for years (besides brodeur). His power play skills helped parise become the great player he is. Is parise a 90pt player without paul martin’s blueline quarterbacking? I don’t think so, you will see his points drop a good bit this year because of martin’s departure. Another one is Phil Kessel being trading for 2 first round picks+ all because he is young, a good defender and good offensive player.

  • @TwanBeezy And for the record, we aren’t just going off statistics. Ask any nhl coach/announcer for a scouting report on kovalchuk and they will tell you just how great he is.

  • @TwanBeezy A few quotes from scouts on him say: great size and strength (6’2’’-230), excellent skater with lightning speed, good lateral mobility, excellent hockey sense, amazing hands/puckhandler and can complete creative moves at top speed, very hard and accurate shot, maneuvers well in heavy traffic, ferociously competitive, a true superstar, and can easily rush 1 vs 3 and win. Lmao. If you think he’s overrated, then you honestly must have a hatred for the guy or something.

  • @TwanBeezy Another quote “One of the greatest pure shooters in NHL history”. He is the total package in the offensive zone, with the exception of his passing that could be a bit better He isn’t a defensive liability, which is generally good enough for any superstar forward. Can you even name a player with more accurate hard shot then him?

  • @Jothemano The guys currently in the league who I personally believe are the best, all the way down to BOTH their offensive ability and defensive ability are: Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Toews, Hossa, Crosby, Malkin, and Thornton. These are really the only guys in the league that I've been extremely impressed with as two-way players. I'm pretty sure that both Datsyuk and Malkin led the league for a couple years in takeaways. I'm nearly positive that Hossa is the hardest backchecker in the league.

  • @TwanBeezy Let’s try to find people in his range: Ovechkin, Chara, and Souray. All hard shots, but none as accurate. It’s even debatable if their hardest is harder then Kovy’s, but NO ONE has his combo of accuracy and speed with the slapshot, NO ONE. And just to end this debate, a scout quote “With the exception of Ovechkin, no one shooter is as feared as Kovalchuk”. End of story. His greatness really isn’t debatable, you still think he’s overrated?

  • @Jothemano I won't deny that you make some excellent points and great arguments by analogizing to other players. And yes, being a Hossa fan myself, I'm sure watching the way he plays every shift like it's the last time he's ever going to play hockey, probably raised the bar and my own expectations for the offensive AND defensive hustle I expect out of all players. Which, by the way, you're probably right; it's most likely unrealistic to expect all players to play like that.

  • @Jothemano Here's the thing; I've been hearing a lot of talk about how Kovalchuk is weighing his options with regard to who he is going to play for: the KHL or the NHL. Apparently, some of this is dependent on who is going to pay him more, and a lot of these KHL teams are offering a lot more than I personally believe Kovy will ever be worth. One team wanted to give him $14 million a season (SKA St. Petersburg). I think that's completely ridiculous and I think you already agreed with me there.

  • @Jothemano And I do think it's important to look at how much players are getting paid and what they're asking for. Put it this way; I said that Kovalchuk is overrated, which, I may have mis-spoke. What I meant was, Kovy himself thinks to highly of his own ability. I don't know if Kovalchuk is going to use these ridiculous KHL offers as leverage over NHL teams when negotiating a contract, but I just don't see think he's worth much more than $7 million. If he thinks so, he should play in KHL.

  • @Jothemano Ultimately, when I look at a player, I do like to look at their salary. It would be impossible for a player making $10 million a year to justify his contract when his numbers and overall ability don't reflect $10 million, when you would most likely be better off taking two of Zetterberg or two of Toews for roughly the same price, and probably be at an advantage with a second star and better depth. Those guys earn every penny of their relatively normal contracts for being so good.

  • @Jothemano Toews has proven himself to be one of the hardest forecheckers in the league. With Zetterberg, I love the way he plays in his own zone. One of the best along the boards I've ever seen. Overall, I just think a lot of these kinds of players and these kinds of skills are overlooked in hockey, and I think that these are the kinds of skills that actually win playoff games and championships. It's not always about guys like Kovy and Ovi lighting the lamp.

  • @TwanBeezy I think we are both on the same page now for the most part. Kovalchuk is an offensive superstar and ok defensive player, agreed. Kovalchuk isn’t worth $10million/yr unless he is taking the team he’s on to at least 2 or 3 stanley cup finals in that 10yr term. IMO, that would make him worth the money, but 2/3 stanley cup finals in 10yrs is hard unless you’re the red wings.

  • @TwanBeezy Con: The rumor of $14mill/yr is supposedly only a 3yr deal and no longer. That’s what a lot of people forget. He goes to the KHL for those 3yrs, his nhl value goes down and he loses a lot of guaranteed money. IMO, 10yrs/100mill looks a lot better then 3yrs/42million just for security. He leaves and comes back I see no one offering him more then $5-$7million per year at 30yrs old.

  • @TwanBeezy Con: Injuries happen and some players are never the same after injuries. Few names: Bossy’s career ending early and Depietro’s knee problems. Depietro is saved by his contract, no big contract and DP’s making $1-$2 million MAX as a back up right now and losing millions. It happens and is why people sign longterm contracts.

  • @TwanBeezy Con: And for the record, $10mil/yr is too much unless he pulls off magic and $14mil/yr is def. way too much.

  • @TwanBeezy Con: I agree with your choice of best 2-way players. That being said, Zetterberg gave Detroit a discount taking a longterm ~$6mil/yr contract. If he hit free agency, he would have easily pulled $7-$8mil/yr if he wanted. Toews $6mil/yr contract was a team discount and he wanted to stay with a young rising team. Who wouldn’t. I’m sure here we’d agree again that toews would fetch $7-$8mil/yr on the open market too.

  • @TwanBeezy Con: But I disagree with you that mult-task players are more important in playoff games then goal scoring forwards. People like Ovechkin and Kovy are GOLDEN. Anytime you have a player that is a goal scoring threat no matter what the circumstances has a major impact. Goals are half the battle of winning games and goal scorers are as golden as shutdown goalies.

  • @TwanBeezy Con: The other major part is defense, and goalies play a major part in that. Next is defenseman, and last forwards. Forwards have the least defensive impact in letting up goals. Pronger is the reason Philly was strong defensively, Keith and Seabrook the reason Chig was great defensively, not hossa but he does make a decent impact. Kovy does a lot too though on the ice.

  • @TwanBeezy Con: In the offensive zone he works as hard as anyone. He forechecks hard, puck battles around the boards, wristers, slapshots, fancy hands/feet, opens ice for teammates, you name it and he takes part in most of it. He does have a near complete offensive game and that is very important. As said, Defense is his weak point but he’s adequate.

  • @TwanBeezy Con: Imo, you still are underrating Kovy a bit, but I’m not sure why. He is just about the complete package in the o-zone with his work ethic and everything that he does, he doesn’t take many penalties, and he’s defensively adequate. Early in his career he was a defensive slacker, but not any more. That’s pretty much what I want you to understand.

  • Welcome to KHL

  • My favourite player ;) that nasty wristshot... :)

  • a jackass, nothing more

  • underrated

  • Best player in the NHL

  • @Cherdenkov No heart. Can't play team hockey.

  • @JbrennOdot well sometimes, and now in New Jersey has has some1 to play with. back when Hossa played in Atlanta he could do some teamplay.

  • One of the best wrist shots in league!

  • Go Devils!

  • damn 1:36-1:40 is narsty

  • What band is that?

  • @Willyboy933

Iron Maiden - Phantom Of The Opera

  • Thank you

  • edit: its not even far on how talented he is and still young..fun to watch

    go devils go!!! 2010 champs

  • @Camps2630 i wish...

  • honestly, this guy makes it look so easy and hes sooo calm

  • this guy is unreal! he must be happy that he'll soon see the playoffs

  • Devil

  • man... it must be hard for a GM to let Kovalchuk go like that..

  • @antikimbo for 17 years!!! OMG. afinigenov (?) nd him make the best first line atlantas ever had

  • his shots always seem to go top net... insane!

  • Kovalchuk should play in Bruins!!!!!

  • best release in hockey

  • Great editing man. Very well done. I love the song.

  • @MullyFilm

For real, I love how the beat goes perfectly with Ilya's shots.

  • Kovalchuk is a monster!

Hes such a great player and truely loves the game.

I like the fact that even tho since hes been with the Thrashers so many years and hasnt been to many playoffs he still wants to stay in atlanta his carrer.

  • ilya is the man. best sniper in the world by far. ilya doesnt need to shoot 500times to get 50 goals like alex08.

  • His stickhandling is awesome

  • IK is the total package. A combination of size, skills, and excellent skating. He can score from anywhere, from the blueline or behind the goalie.

Time to dump Lehtonen and white for Datsyuk. And Hainsey and a 2nd Rnd for Volchenkov.

  • @WhyGym The Red Wings didn't win 4 cups in 12 years by doing stupid things like trading their franchise center for a mediocre goalie. Just because the trade works in NHL 10 doesn't mean it would work in real life.

  • 0:51 bar down

  • he has the most amazing wrist shot i have ever seen. hes more of a natural goal scorer than alexander the great. ovechkin plays for a better tem and finishes with like 550 shots on net per year.

  • I wouldn't say he's more of a natural goal scorer than Ovie, but he is closer than many people think. I think if Kovy played for Washington and Ovie didn't... Kovalchuk would get identical point totals.

  • agreed

  • @MegaCanada101 I think they are just equal it's just ilya has a more finesse than Ovie

  • @MegaCanada101 I hate Ovechkin with a fiery but did you ever think that its his "bull in a china shop" insane ass hustling that gives him an advantage to take 7-10 shots a game as opposed to 3-4? did you also think tha maybe those shots were intentionally missed so his teammates, like backstrom and knuble can pick up easy rebound goals?

  • @MegaCanada101 so what your saying is that kovalchuk has a better shooting % ?? i absolutely agree

  • Kovalchuk isn't going to a Canadian team. Listen to his NHL live interview from the other day. He specifically said he would never play in Canada because there is too much media attention.

  • @Cocknockerofl

I hate when players say shit like that. Sure, the media attention in Canada is crazy. But then I look at the NFL and it's 10x worse. If you're not ready to handle that type of attention, you deserve to be with a bottom tier team.

  • How has he not won the speed competition at superskills?

  • what a sniper

  • best pure goal scorer in the game today, bar none

  • ovechkin is the best overall goal scorer, but no one has a wrist shot close to Kovalchuck.

  • ovechkin has the most goals, but take shooting percentage, and quality of team mates into account, and it's gotta be kovalchuk. if he had taken the same amount of shots as ovechkin last year, he would've had 80 goals based on his shooting percentage.

  • Unfortunately he probably will resign with atl....wish he would go to a better team

  • I know, I dont care if he doesnt go to my favourite team, but somewhere that will make it more exciting for the league and more importantly Ilya himself, in turn raising his level of play as well.

  • exactly how i feel...he's an exciting player and i'd like to see him on more of a contender. Don't get to see him much.

  • From what seasons is this? and where did you get the clips from?

  • Amazing player, could easily outscore Ovechkin if he took as many shots, or if he played on a better team

  • He'll be a Washington Capital soon.

  • I hope not, they'd be way too good. The rest of the east would be fucked.

  • omg i just cumed a little bit.. dude if he goes there that team will be unstoppable!!!!!! kovalchuk + ovechtkin equals tears on the other teams faces....

  • he is deadly on the point w/ that slap shot

  • Kovalchuk said he wants to re-sign with Atlanta in an AJC article. Look it up.

  • Imagine how good he would be if he wasn't on a shitty team.

  • very nice Illya pro hockey master nice job nice video nice musicx nice player

  • I want to see Kovalchuk re-sign in Atlanta just so I can watch all of the kids freak out when they realize that he isn't coming to their favorite team.

  • Who in thier right mind would re-sign in Shitlanta?

  • why does doan resign with phoenix? why does brodeur resign with the devils? why does st louis resign with the lightning? why does spezza resign with the senators? why does nash resign with the blue jackets? why does staal resign with the hurricanes? LOYALTY AND THE NHL SALARY CAP. FANBOY! IM SURE YOUR TEAM ISNT THAT GREAT!

  • Yeah but when the team is that shitty and the fanbase non-existant at best there is no reason to stay and coming from Russia its safe to assume he doesnt have much tying him down in shitlanta. DESIRE TO WIN AND OTHER TEAMS WILLING TO SPEND MONEY, FANBOY! IM SURE ATLANTA WILL CONTINUE TO SUCK!

  • i know, fucking fanboys!

  • he will be wearin a ranger sweater next year

  • Suuuuuuuuure.

  • watch

  • @RaymondBX10461 Why would a team with a 7 million dollar right wing try to sign another 7 million dollar right wing?

  • ....well just to let u know kovy is playing left wing(he plays reverse)

  • COME TO VANCOUVER IN A TRADE !!!!

  • 1:31 1:37 awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • wish i could snipe like that

  • Other NHL superstars need to take notes from Kovy. He may play for a bad team, but you never hear him complain, ask for trade, etc. I still think he's the best player in NHL due to the fact that he's usually on Ovechkins doorstep for goals and takes half as many shots. Pure sniper, he's physical, and even sometimes fights! Go Kovy Go

  • dude thank you everyone like crobsy because he plays for a good team and then i say kovy to some they tell me he suck because he play for atl.ATL is not a bad team.and im a sabres fan

  • @ANDREWTHEGEARSPLAYER have you considerred that maybe the penguins are a good team because Crosbys on it?

  • waaaaaaay better than crosby or malkin

  • Comment removed

  • @RedWingFan1340 i agree 100 % percent hes a horse...hes like 6'2 250pounds great skating ability very explosive...juss look at those crossovers...and hes a sniper big time

  • DID Jhix88 just say That the U.S is better than the Slovaks, Czechs and Fins! Dude cmon Fins got Kipper,Lehtonen,Selanne,Kukkonen, Jokinen brothers,Temmonen dude cmon Slovaks got Hossa and Gabs, Czechs got a lot of talent too U.S has Parise,Miller/Thomas and oldddd talent besides Kane

  • Most talanted team is Canada and Russia.

  • Sweden is pretty sick too.. Don't look past Sweden, they won Gold.

  • Please trade KOVY in CAPITALS.Than Capitals would be strongest team in the NHL

  • @Teenpany yeah...and then pay Kovy in monopoly dollars. The only team that could afford to pay Ovie and Kovy is the Yankees, and thats in the wrong sport.

  • SNIPER!!!!!

  • Russia will have one h of a scary team on paper, in the olympics. Gives me associacions to the KLM line, but I think this team will be even more scary. Not sure they will get it together though. Maybe we will see a Finland playing like last time (they were outstanding and deserved the gold, but). Or a sweden getting their machinery together and defeat them. Then there is always Canada, Slovakia and the czecks. What a tournament it shall be. Can hardly wait.

  • USA is definitley better than Slovakia, Czechs, and Finland. With that said, I think Russia will roll through the tournament pretty easily until the gold medal game where anything can happen.

  • @hionmeth Front loaded, no depth, Russia will get buried when their 3rd and 4th lined play and they only have one good defensive unit. Add to that the fact that Nabokov sucks when the pressures on...Russia better hope it's front 6 is unbelievable because thats all they have.

  • i dont know i think all their forwards are really good. but i agree with you on the defense

  • hahaha nice video and nice concept with that awsome song :P

  • I just want to see the Kovalchuk situation resolved one way or another. I say that if Atlanta makes the playoffs he will sign. If they are out of it the Thrashers had better trade him while they can.

  • The music is perfect timming lol! good job!

  • psych.

  • His career is not just the NHL, National team Russia is just as much part of his hockey career that the NHL is. And he has found an orgasmic amount of success for mother Russia. not to mention the gold he will hang around his neck at next years Olympics.

  • lol what are you talking aboot? Canada is gonna win it buddeh

  • best player on planet right there

  • Ilya is way better than ovechkin

  • they both are great!

  • to bad he has to spend his career on such a shit team that does nothing to make its team better. A waste of talent

  • for your information....kovalchuk has recently bought a 2.4 million $ condo in montreal...the trade will be announced on draft day...kovalchuk for a first round pick, higgins, david fisher

  • wtf are you saying??

  • LOLOLOL If it's happen it will be a STEAL!

  • lmao no

  • Ilya Kovalchuck and Ovechkin are the most exciting goal scorers

  • Marian Hossa's numbers sure shot up on a good team... Not.

  • Yeah I didn't really mean they would shoot up. What I meant was instead of him scoring 52 goals on the thrashers he might score 58 goals on a real good team with a great playmaker. And as for hossa he really hasn't dominated as alot of people thought he would with the Redwings but he did with Crosby at the end of last year and in the playoffs. Plus Hossa isn't in Kovalchuks league in terms of pure scoring and sniping. And I could really see him by being unstoppable with more oppurtunities.

  • yeah they did..he had 40 goals this year

  • and he scored 43 goals and 100 points with Atlanta. His last year with Atlanta he just had injury problems. Once he recovered he tore it up with the Pens. Going to Detroit did not make his goal total go up.

  • Ilya hasnt scored much since savard and heatly are gone and snider

  • He has stayed at the high 30-50 goal range still since they've been gone

  • @Cocknockerofl yes but in Detroit he was one of 6 players who could score goals, not one of two, and he was a goal away from winning the cup. I guarantee if Hossa had to choose his year in Detroit or his best year in Atlanta he takes Detroit hands down

  • this guy is my favourite player he kicks ass

  • hey everbody just image this alex ovechkin got traded to atl and alex semin got traded to atl to.The line would be kovalchuk, ovechkin, semin
