  • Pink Floyd's Dogs!!!!! Best fucking solo!!

  • oh god i'm getting this

  • New Choose!

  • I have read that using the PS-6 will cause a big drop in your overall volume and that the pedal is not really useable in a live situation due to the volume drop that occurs when the pedal gets turned on. Did you notice a big drop in volume Andy when using the pedal? I want to get one, but not if I can't really use it live. I can deal with a very small volume drop though some of the reviews kind of scared me away from already ordering a PS-6.

  • @thebibleisalltrue I have one that I gig with and I can tell you that I've noticed no discernible drop in volume.

  • @BrotherDamascus Thanks!!! I just bought a PS-6 and put it on my pedalboard last night. The PS-6 is a really cool pedal.

  • own one. fired my buddy. sorry bro :(

  • wow this thing is so cool!!!

  • Does this pedal just go one octave up and one down? Im debating between this or the POG 2.

  • @WahToneGuitars POG is something totally different. If you're looking for harmonizing in thirds ,etc a POG won't be much help. The fake "organ" is similar sounding. Any POGs I've used were kind of out of control and unpredictable though. And noisy.

  • @moucon In your opinion, whats the best harmony/octave pedal? Thanks for the help.

  • 0:10?

  • @metallicadaan boston, peace of mind

  • what;s the output B for ....,,!!please??

  • @united19702 un affected output

  • What happens if you play drop tune half a tone??

  • You know what? I think if I hadn't watched that magnificent tone at 1:22, I could have saved myself $350 on a volume pedal, the harmonist, and a delay. Thank you very much ProGuitarShopDemos, thanks allot. :P

  • WHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    YH YH YH :)

RISE AGAINST THE MACHINE, KILLING IN THE NAME

  • Song from 1:20 to 2:20 ?

  • @zataze45 led zeppelin your time is gonna come

  • should it be placed after distortion or b4 distortion pedal?

  • What is the song at 01:22

  • @thebigcheese664 Play with no volume on your guitar, increase the volume. Add reverb and delay

  • What's the second song played?

  • fuckin loved the ratm end. such a good surprise

  • YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUR TIME IS GONNA COOOOME !!

    (tchanananam tchananam)

  • Orgasmis. Def. gunna be a nice christmas present.. teehee

  • 5:11 - 5:35 SOLD!!!

  • What's the difference between Boss PS-6 Harmonist and the Boss PS-5 SUPER Shifter? Is the PS-6 just an updated version?

  • Andy is so damn cool!

  • 5:11 - 5:35 SOLD!!!

  • can this do the micropitch like the pitchfactor?

  • It's time to make a PS-20

  • What name of musics

    1:20 2:25 5:10

  • @XDUrso 2:25 Pink floyd - Dogs

  • @XDUrso 5:10 is Rage Against The Machine - Killing in The Name

  • like a whammy :D

  • this or digitech whammy?

  • What happens if you put 2 harmonist pedals together in same signal chain?

  • @gredangeo Depends on the interval, and how you have them mixed. Say both are at 50/50 dry wet blend. Having the first be a fourth up and the sencond an octave. You'd get your original signal+a 4th+an Octave+a 4th one octave up.

  • Hi PGS, could this pedal work in a similar way to a micro pog? So it can create just an octave up, below, or blend of the two?

  • Hell yeah! Boston!

  • Fuck yeah pink floyd Animals

  • What, so does that mean it's kinda like a whammy pedal except each one can do some things the other can't but they can do some same stuff?

  • YEAH BITCHES RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE WOOHOO!!!

  • What if I prefer to play the HIGHER notes? I need something that can play the lower harmonies only so it would be ME that gets into the highest notes.

  • 5:11 - 5:35 Explains Soo much

  • @coppoman1 I need it now...

  • @coppoman1 lol i think he actually uses a whammy pedal though.. a friend of mine has this exact pedal and when i found out that the pedal does that i instantly feld obligated to play that solo

  • @coppoman1 The original was done with a Whammy....

  • @coppoman1 It is actually suppose to use the Digitech Whammy Pedal for that solo

  • Dogsss !!! fuck yeah!!.... Pink Floyd is the only thing better in the world than women

  • I never really paid attention to this pedal... After I saw this vid I could only say two words... HOLY SHIT!!!!

  • and all this time, I thought there were two guitarists in Boston!

  • is the vibrate effect included as a function of the pedal??

  • Can I use an ernie ball volume pedal as the expression pedal? (not sure if a volume pedal and expression pedal are the same thing).

  • Can I use an ernie ball volume pedal as the expression pedal? (not sure if a volume pedal and expression pedal are the same thing)

  • 1:40

Are those volume swells or chords strummed normally?

  • @Calvin0135 It is a swell, because you can hear a difference in tone when he plucks single notes, after chords.

  • killing in the name! awesome!

  • killing in the name! awesome!

  • what is the name of the song at 5:08

  • Comment removed

  • Does harmony react the same way when say playing in the key of Dm, and using the relative major of F as the setting for the harmony, as it would if you set the pedal to Dm?

  • @that1stupidkid613 I would assume so.

  • i MUST have this pedal!!!!

  • So what exactly is the point of the super octave when the harmonist can go an octave up as well (plus all the other intervals...)

  • HI Andy, does this work best in the amp's effects loop or in the front?

  • What should i buy? A Boss BF-3 Flanger (Because i would rly like it to play Muse- Map of the problimatique) Or should i buy the Boss ps-6 Harmonist, cause it sounds nice? Plz help me.

  • What should i buy? A Boss BF-3 Flanger (Because i would rly like it to play Muse- Map of the problimatique) Or should i buy the Boss ps-6 Harmonist, cause it sounds nice? Plz help me.

  • @keihardgek If something sounds nice to your ears thats you go with. Find the sounds that are you rather than recreating some one elses.

  • @keihardgek the easiest and cheapest way is to get a digitech whammy and a molten voltage molten midi 2. there's a video on my channel dedicated to recreating the Map of the Problematique effect. :)

  • RATM

  • Peace Of Mind - Boston made me fangirl.

  • does this pedal affect tone in a chain, with a tube screamer, or with a fuzz?

is it noisy or does it mess with your guitar's tone in a bad way?

    TRUE BYPASS?

love your vids, pro guitar shop!

  • @mistad00m I don't think any Boss products are true bypass. That's not a bad thing, especially is you have long cables or a lot of bypassed pedals in your chain.

  • It's Peace Of Mind by Boston in the intro, not More Than A Feeling...

  • Can the super bend be used for essentially what a digitech whammy is used for?

  • I have this pedal It really has some cool sounds Thank you guys for doing the demo

I bought cause of how you guys played with it thank you proguitarshop

  • tom morello!!!!!

  • is tha tlittle bit of in repair i hear in there?!

  • BOSTON, MORE THAN A FEELING. THATS WHAT THE INTRO SOUDNS LIKE

  • @REIDSRAGE remember kids, caps lock makes you cool. and no, it's "peace of mind"

  • RATMMM

  • lol tom morello at the end is crazy!

  • What is the second music? 1:23

  • does this pedal track good on bass or organ like sounds??

  • could have played some ratatat with the "happyer" major:)

  • I AM GOING TO HAVE THIS...... someday -megusta-

  • I want it I want it I want it!!!!!!

  • @AgedHarmonics I said the exact same thing.

  • Yeah !! Whammy power ! 5:15

  • Boston and Pink Floyd fuck yeah! Thats music to my ears! Shit you just made my day bro!

  • Boston and Pink Floyd fuck yeah! Thats music to my ears! Shit you just made my day bro!

  • @guitargodh - in fact, i find that it sounds best after my dist pedal, kinda funny really, but that's my personal experience.. when i just bought it, i use it first in chain, but at drive setting it didn't sound like a harmonizer, more like i'm playing a chord.. but i love this pedal a lot now..

  • FUCK YOU I WONT DO WHAT YOU TELL ME

  • 2:40 was beautiful

  • seriously, Andy does the best pedal reviews on the internet. Makes my day too, I watch just to hear him play sometimes.

  • Digitech Whammy Pedal Vs. Boss Ps-6 Harmonist

which one?? which one i should buy? which one is better?

  • are there any harnonizers that you don't have to set and change key for ever song

  • @mareemcrae If someone answers you let me know. I want something like that

  • Boston!! FUCK YEAH!!!!

  • YEA RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE @ END!!!!!

  • is this comparable to the digitech whammy? cuz this one could save me some bucks

  • @plasticguitar This thing is SO much better than the Digitech whammy for harmonies. The boss pedal automatically gives you harmony notes, whereas the digitech is pretty useless in that category. The Digitech offers more ovtaves for divebombs it seems though. In reality, the whammy features are fun to mess around with for about 20 mins, but are pretty useless for the most part (unless you're trying to do RATM or Audioslave solos in your set)

  • These examples are awful, I'm sorry.

The octaver makes no sense at all: it's crappy.

Harmonizers don't seem to be reasdy at the moment and these also sound too digital to be of any use.

  • @ZombinLaden They only sound digital if you ramp up the the sound to an unrealistic height.

  • What is the song at the beginning of the video? It has a very nice harmony!

  • @Guitargawd13 peace of mind by boston

  • @2:30 dogs! :D

  • 5:15 this explains sooooo much!!

  • Just got one and am having a blast with it. I can't wait to get in front of a beer-swilling audience of local yayhoos and blow their frickin' minds.

  • this is a better whammy than the digitech whammy!

  • Can you play chords?

  • Yet another great looking pedal from Boss.

  • could you show an example of this with a acoustic simulator pedal?

  • @guitargodh - As a general rule, harmonizer pedals work best at the very beginning of your signal chain, but we found that the PS6 worked well after distortion too. We would recommend trying it both ways and deciding for yourself which way is best for your application. There really isn't a wrong way to do it. Thank for watching!

    -PGS Crew

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos i found that the harmonizer sounds a million times better in the FX loop rather than in front

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos Hey man I'm not saying you're wrong, just advising with my setup (using a POD 2.0) the Harmoniser sounded unbelievably bad at the beginning of the signal chain but the sounds were similar to this video if it was put at the end. The distortion created by the POD was basically disorting the harmonies, just a tip for anyone with the same setup, put it at the end definitely!

  • Boss you can never compare to the whammy...........but nice try.

  • The PS6 sounds great and all, lovely with the delay. Despite that, 4:20 just sounds ridiculous!

  • I just bought a Boss OC-3 Octaver... Would this PS-6 be able to basically replace the OC-3 as far as octive effect?

    Thanks

  • I used the S-Bend effect to get some police car siren sounds. The guy at the music store almost kicked me out after 5 minutes.

  • That delay bit.. Good God Andy, someone should give you a medal! That's the stuff played at the pearly gates my friend!

  • Zeppelin!

  • should i get this thing if i just want something to play in different tunings... so i dont have to waste time and/or money buying guitars or tuning them all the time?

  • metelica :P

  • This pedal is amazing.

    But really silly.

Sure, the vibrato octave stuff is good, in a silly way, but I'd rather have a standard rocker pedal for standard octave work. Go BOSS and go DigiTech.

  • i've always loved this pedal more then that shitty brand digitech

  • hi, where is the place for this pedal in the pedal board? the last pedal?

  • What's the difference between the two outputs on the pedal?

  • @tenhundredkills one is for mono, the other is to be used with the mono output if you want to go stereo.

  • Wow, I think I need this!!

  • This sounds pretty good after the dirt! Can you run it anywhere in your chain or is it best in the traditional sense, first?

  • I like this demo very much. Andy you are the best man!!!

  • want one so I can play all those old Boston tunes live

  • Why is there 6 dislikes....tell me

  • i wanto to win this so i can play dogs! i wanna win it

  • ahaha thats sicckk !!!

  • I want this extremely badly.

  • Neat.

  • Andy, your skills make me want to buy gear that I would most likely never use.

  • hearing you play makes my day andy

  • @iunnodiapeys Thank you!!

  • Can this work with guitars tuned a 1/2 step down?

  • What is that second piece you played? Also, regarding your performance of "Killing in the Name of", well, this ain't no Whammy.

  • Excellent rendition of "Dogs" BTW.

  • I don't get why some people think these are just "toys" whereas the Digitech Whammy pedal is high regarded.

  • 2:25 FUCK YEAH Pink Floyd!

  • PGS, I play an Ibanez RGA8 into a Peavey 6505+ half stack and I use a Decimator G-String I bought from you guys. I also have a Boss GT-10 and when I try to use it with my amp it really kills the tone even when I use a clean patch with small amounts of Chorus, Delay, Reverb and a Pitch Shift Harmonizer. My question is, do you think this PS-6 would react more favorably and not effect my amps killer tone so much?

  • i just got one, and im loving it

  • Boston!!

  • pigs *-*

  • Andy i noticed that u've played that DOGS riff, the guitar is actually doubled(and u probably know that) but im willing to play it on a band, the ps-6 can really make a good ''doubleing'' sound?I liked what i've heard on the video but asked just to be sure.

  • @japasetelagoas Forget doubling, try tripling the sound, and get your other guitarist to use it, too. It'll sound like 6 guitars playing at once. Don't overpower the other instruments, though

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos

would this pedal do queen's bohemian rhapsody outro?

my old one screws up one note and it sounds horrid whilst the rest is perfect

  • hey guys ive used the Digitech whammy and i just bought this for £115, theres no comparison this is streets ahead for tracking versatility and ease of use , my tip is write down settings from the online demos and your own experiments, to help ease you into it, after a couple of weeks you'll be using it on every tune you play , im thinking of buying another one its got so many modes, ive got it sounding like a hammond organ on stuff like Black Night and the Charlatons Only One I Know, Buy Buy Buy

  • with the expression pedal is this a "better" whammy than digitech's?

and is it good at handling full chords with the expression pedal in s-bend mode octaves down? :)

  • @Razwithz You can use the expression pedal to shift chords down, but not up. Single notes go either way.

  • so.. this is basically better than a pog? whats the difference? is this analog/digital?

  • All I'm really interested in is the super bend effect on this, is there any dedicated pedal out there for that that isn't the digitech whammy? (which also has tons of modes I simply don't need)

  • Can someone tell me how the bypass works in pitch shift and harmony mode? I'm asking this because the bypass in the PS-5 really sucks and cause a momentary gap (or drop) when i activate the pedal. Thanks

  • Hey PGS, i have a question. I have the DD-7, but i can't seem to get the soundeffect out of it you used in the vid. what' did you do exactly?

  • hey andy ! happy new year ! between this baby and the hr-2 which one do you recommend all i'm interested in is harmony leads that you just played from boston , pink floyd and also thin lizzy uses a lot of leads like that ,as for the octaves i've got the oc-2 the ps-3 the pog-2 all i want is a pedal to harmonize leads is there any other brand out there besides boss. thank you so much for your help because it's becoming an obsession i never thought such a stompbox existed , god bless !

  • can you hook up a bigger expression pedal?

and 5:15 to end sounds like Tom Morello cool.

  • The RATM solo is perfectly done. Well done Andy !

  • DOGS

  • Mmm... sexy.

  • i just bought this pedal and doesn't any thing like the ones on you tube, and i just want it to sound like a brian may type sound, HELP!!

  • Iive seen this or type of pedals (octave/whammy) pedals before a overdrive/distortion or vice versa; What do you guys recommend?. Also this is what you want in front of the amp and not FX loop right? (octave type pedals...)

  • That airy synth-like tone is made using the octave up/down mode?

  • strat + power stack = no mids. hard on the ears. i know andy likes his strat, but try a sg and turn down the treble PLEASE. good use of RATM. how are the dive bombs? the detune? many features discussed, few shown. boss needs to put a LPF on their pitch effects so they can sound moderately realistic in harmony modes.

  • @xsonicassassinx do you have a comment about the pedal or not ? please save your diatribe for a chatroom or forum

  • Sorry but this thing sounds awefull...loose the powerstack..
