MSY also has one very short runway that you can see coming in off 610 that ends right at the main street for the airport entrance. I have taken off from this from that one. Very short lol!.

28 would bring you over the city but it is not normally used unless the winds are very strong out of the west or the captain requests it due to aircraft weight. When the Saints came in from London on a NW 747, they used 28. Also when Obama came here on AF1, he used 28 too.

They were supposed to build a 4th runway, but that was before Hurricane Katrina. still, since they might see that happen since traffic is up and expected to rise over the next 5 years. The only problem is where they will put it......

h is the opposite side of rwy 10 I don't know how to really describe this approach other than you usually come in over the lake fly over the city and some neighborhoods then you land coming across the airport service road finally we have rwy 24 which on the apposite side is known as rwy 9 this runway is far too small for commercial jets and its used by private aircraft

There are however 4 different approaches used at this airport this one is called AWDAD6 usually when your flying this approach you come in on the rwy in the video which is RWY 10 the landings that come in over the lake use RYTHM3 and the rwy most commonly used for that approach is rwy 19 if your coming in over the river your usually on the SLIDD2 arrival landing on rwy 1 which is the opposite side of rwy 19 the approach thats used the least is the OLEDD1 arrival you land usually on rwy 28 whic
