@TheEljay Sure, you are quite right, its all pretty subjective. It was made towards the end of the eighties although I agree, it does sound more like it belongs in the 90's. Personally I think they sound as British as fish and chips or a declining manufacturing industry. I almost think this song could have been written by the Kinks, it has such a similar sort of riff to it. But the main problem I had with the video is its cheesiness. The original video that goes with this song is much better.
