How about that key change?!! One of the top 5 singers ever (IMHO) Frank, who is not included on that list, is making funny comments, wishes he could sing that well. There, I said it. Sorry, but that's how I see it.. And don't worry, unlike SO MANY ON THE INTERNET, I do not state this as a fact, but only as my opinion. Don't you get tired of all the effort people spend trying to convince other's that their opinion is fact? It's great how all us Dino fans are in sync on that!
I like how this performance sounds... but when I think of Dean Martin singing this song, I can't help but think of a disconnect.
Like... I picture him as a man of class and of a particular tux & bowtie charm mostly long-gone in this day and age. While on the other hand, when you examine the lyrics, it's about a (perhaps) lower middle-class guy who's always on the road, living a more or less nomadic lifestyle.
But with all that aside, Dean still sings this song well and keeps it enjoyable.
ANY version of ANY song is the best when it's sung by the One-And-Only DINO! Some may not recall but back in the mid-'60's there was a singer, the late Barry Young, who sounded close (not exactly but close) to Dean. Try putting "One has my name" in YouTube and see what I mean. Barry tried his best....but......only ONE DEAN. While the other kids listened to Elvis and The Beatles, I was weaned on Dean!
My favourite version of this song! If there ever was an entertainer worth the name, it's Dino! He was quite good looking in his heydays guess he was a womanizer, hehe...
im 20 i love deano frank sammy the whole rat pack basically..mu uncle has brainwashed me i juts cant get enough of them my friends say i have the most messed up taste of music, on my ipod i have the best of tupac beside the best of dean martin!!
@1800666666 I have Smashing Pumpkins right next to Elvis, Dean Martin, and R. E. M. Zero, Wallpaper Roses, and Heart Break Hotel, and Radio Free Europe. the whole mix is like that jumbled and confused.
@anapanasati1970 There was a lot of trouble in USA at the time about trade unions e.g. The Teamsters. It's a little hard to explain so look it p yourself on wiki to get the full details.

@larwhelan That "dickhead" is Frank Sinatra... The reason for this concert, and one of if not actually Dean's best mates... It's what they did...

His voice is so extremely similar to Bing Crosby's....except Dean's is warmer and has more depth and heart <3

What I'm loving about most of the "Rat Pack" members comments is it young people, teens and 20-somethings, saying they love this type of music.
