@blastingthrough live bait is always best, but you can try squid. i leave the sardines whole and alive still. you can catch live sardines first then hook them on to catch halibut. halibut usually hide under the sand so drag the sardine or bait along the sand in the shallow end, but be careful not to get stuck

Best rig for catching bait fish is Sabiki rigs, smaller hooks though. Impossible not to catch something with them.

sheep crab, spider crab, rock crab, bat rays, scorpion fish, mackerel, sardines, jack smelt (rarely do people get bass)
