  • Best rig for catching bait fish is Sabiki rigs, smaller hooks though. Impossible not to catch something with them.

  • thanks man! do u just snag live sardines or what. but do u think dead sardines would work to?

  • @blastingthrough yeah just snag sardines. you can try dead sardines too, but live is always best. hope that helps

  • @snf1217 i dont care what i catch what do u use as bait 2 snag

  • @blastingthrough just buy the fishing string with little lures on them for sardines, they sell them at walmart

  • have you cought any halibut? if you have what part of the pier and what is a good but bait

  • @blastingthrough Yes, I catch halibut there every year, maybe once or twice, a lot of them are small though, halibut is closer to the shallow water, drag sardines along the sand

  • @snf1217 thanks man. do little squid work also do u cut the sardines or leave them hole. what do u mean drag on the sand

  • @blastingthrough live bait is always best, but you can try squid. i leave the sardines whole and alive still. you can catch live sardines first then hook them on to catch halibut. halibut usually hide under the sand so drag the sardine or bait along the sand in the shallow end, but be careful not to get stuck
