Yeah, but I remember watching this episode and then the next. It was such a disappointment that RDA all of a sudden wasnt there anymore. I remember taking out the dvd, looking at the discnr (bought a box with all seasons) and found out I DIDNT miss a disc or something.

But one thing I never really understood: why almost the same ending as in the episode in which Carter almost got married (cant remember the name). Only difference is that there is fish in the water now.

The fishing is to tie in later with another episode. in this Sam says 'there are no fish in the lake are there?"Jack- "No". in the episode where the a'shen have taken over earth, after SG1 put everything back as it were they are around the lake again and a Sam says "so everything is back as it should be" Jack answer "yes" then you see a fish jump in the pond & jack says "well near enough" or close to this. this ties in with the fact we know there are NO FISH in the pond, so what else changed?

Peoples - the flag pole scene is NOT slashy at all (unless you're over-analyzing, looking for whatever). The flag was there for convenience's sake, and when the semi-robed Daniel exited, the flagpole (just recently divested) was the first thing within easy reach to offer Jack a distraction, affording Daniel /some/ semblance of privacy. We all know RDA loves messing with things. Now, if he started pole-dancing with the thing... maybe then, I'd be able to concede a sexual interpretation :P
