well i might not be able to sway u from ur thoughts of 2D games, but i just have to say that tru 2D games do have a lil new something here and there, but this game kinda went the extra mile, if not yard, into making fresh characters, impressive bg, and online play that most other 2D or even much 3D fighting games lack.

i guess to me, seeing those flashy light graphics mixed with everything else just right amazes me with the hard work put into it. But of course thats just me, i like (dont own)

Yeah, I agree. I'm getting tired of those type of games. 2D fighting games, okay. I have nothing against those games, but I hate MvC, SF, Tekken.. just plain fighting.

I was hoping this would be game similar to say.. Atelier Iris. That's a game I would have liked. It's not all fighting, but you can atleast walk from place to place and chat with peeps.

I HAVE TEKKEN TO!!!, Its just ordinary fighting , and its very slow i love ony guilty Gear, BlazBlue, Soul Callibur and MvC(sometimes it can be fun if you like marvel universe, but its just a button masher)

...tekken isn't 2d. The point of all these games is competition though, when you play a game a lot you only care about the core gameplay, and if they spent time on other, trivial things the main game could suffer.

I hate sideview games, unless they have A STORY LINE. I can decide if I like a game if it has a proper story line or not. Tekken is only about Iron Shit Tournament.

Tekkens MAIN attraction is the story line because it's pretty damn impressive.

The Iron Fist Tournament is just a side dish to everything going on but you would not this due to your lack of interest and quick judgment.

If anything is "hack & slash" take a look at Soul caibur & Mortal Kombat before even putting Tekken in the picture.

I prefer RPGs too, but this is a fighting game, and it's good that RPGs don't have a monopoly on intriguing settings and character designs. Guilty Gear had this interest too.

I did enjoy Soul Caliber III's explorative element to determine who one's next opponent was and each character's starting health percentages in the match, but it wouldn't work in all fighters because games are made for different things.
