  • go granny!!

  • *cocks gun* THE SPICE. MUST. FLOW.

  • YES THE SPICE MUST FLOW

  • hilarious historical lesson! CHART!!! (with the background music of "what do you do with a drunken sailor"! wow!) gotta ♥ AB

  • The Spice Must Flow...

  • I love how he referenced the frat filling the trash can with booze and tang. That sounds like such a bad idea.

  • The spice must flow ~ I finally got it! DUNE forever!!!!

  • i live on long island!!!!! wooo! lol love this show so much

  • sounds like tropico music

  • The man is a true wealth of information.

  • Alton stop capitalizing on alcohol!

Many people don't drink it, LIKE ME!!!

  • @realar i think "many" people is the key part of that sentence.

the *Majority* of adults in the the world , DO in fact both drink and cook with various forms of alcohol.

Also note that he has made a lot of Good Eats that have nothing whatsoever to do with alcohol wich should appeal to Non-Drinkers.

In short, he really has done pretty well over the years in picking topics for both Drinkers and Non-Drinkers alike.

  • i just crapped my pants lol CHART!

  • "hard to press good men into service these days"

  • Dune reference. Nice touch, Alton Brown

  • "BRING FORTH THE PUNCH BOWL!" I love that line.

  • Nice to know that grandmother's like to get drunk. :D

  • i feel bad but i stopped paying attention to alton for a minute once I saw the old lady pour tat bottle of gin into the punch in the back at the beginning

  • When Alton leaves this network, I won't be watching it anymore. It's become a combination of T&A, stupidity, and appealing to the lowest class of viewer. When shows like Rachael Ray's are considered good TV viewing, it's time to rethink the network's goals. She gives cooks a bad name.

  • @durandiana As far as AB Leaving, Apparently the reason for the long Hiatus was that AB was filming the first season of his new travel food show, The good eats fan page says that new episodes will begin airing again the first week of October.

  • @trumbachd1 I don't know where you saw that, but that fan page has too many nutjobs for me. I belonged for a while, but some people there were so insulting and hateful, and the moderators did nothing to stop it. I hope Alton doesn't see that and decide that all his fans are that way.

  • @durandiana I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad experience, as for the site, they tend to be pretty accurate, at least as far as the scheduling of new eps,

Also, I got the info on AB's new show Via Google.

  • Go granny go!

  • Is that the same man who played Albie the Albacor?

  • @BlackWolfessUSCM I was wondering that too.

  • Dude I love Specks... I just re-stocked my Jaeger

  • i love this episode! Does anyone know where i can get the transcript?

  • @goheadbegonewithit Good eats Fan page has transcrpits of nearly all eps.

  • Oh gawd, I so cracked up at the Dune reference!! *still laughing*

  • "CHART!" lol, oh man.

  • Alton Brown is my fucking hero what an awesome dude. This episode is GREAT by the way, I'll have to upgrade from "Tang and grain alcohol in a garbage can" now.

  • I always serve Tang and grain alcohol in a garbage can at other peoples parties :D I only break out the good stuff for my own parties heh

  • gramma spiked the punch

  • This is my most favorite episode of Good Eats in recent seasons, even above the recent Spaghetti and Meat Sauce episode, because of the Dune references. Among other things.

  • All the money given to him by Food Network to made Good Eats is used for the décor and special effects.

He makes money by selling books, DVD, utensils, and also with his appearences (highly expensive, by the way)

  • Anybody bothered that AB is now doing a Welch's grape juice commercial?

  • Considering AB doesn't get paid to do Good Eats, no, It doesn't bother me.

  • Whaaa?? He does that pro bono?

  • @mrmorganmusic Yep.

  • Nope, I ain't bothered by someone making a living.

  • @mrmorganmusic No, Noat at all.

The man does have a family to supprt and I certainly don't begrudge him that.

  • LOL... A "Dune" reference, how beautiful.

  • "Garbage can filled with grain alcohol and Tang..."

Oh God, I think I've been to parties like that...

I've never heard of battavia arrack...is it then basically the same thing as rum, only it's made from Indian sugar cane rather than molasses?

  • BTW, for those of you who don't know, Alton doesn't take a salary for his show, he puts whatever money he would make right back into it. His money comes from sales of books, videos, accessories, and his appearances.

  • @durandiana thats why I buy everything :D

  • @durandiana

Although I want to believe this, I dont know if theres any evidence despite his statement.^^ I believe it, nevertheless^^

  • Dune reference FTW!

  • What I would give to meet this guy...he is so awesome :)

  • CHART!!

  • Its still amazing that Food Network has kept this show on. Consider that the network was just getting its grove going when he signed up in 1999 and has since signed on to do at least two more seasons after this one. Of course the real reason I am suprised is that this is the most expensive show that food network has.

  • Rightly so... It is also the best show they have.

  • Thank you so much for the upload!

  • Thanks for the upload.

  • :22 Go Granny!

  • I was cracking up laughing left and right. I think I scared my neighbors when I have watched this a few times. Oh well.

  • Omg! Yay! This can't come at a better time, I was having a GE craving <3!

  • lol the pirate scene is hilarious, i wonder how much fun AB has making these episodes
