  • great vids, thanks to the set i learned to do the cube. but where did u get the pimpin cubes?

  • i do best 35 sec with beginner method, and 25 avg for 2look oll + full PLL

  • With beginners, the best I could possibly do is 43 seconds... with F2l, 2look OLL and 2Look PLL, 18 sec.

    heehee

  • 38 secs with beginner..IM SO HAPPY!

I really wanna learn this method but HOW MANY ALGO's are there!?

  • my best is 22 sec. still stuck with 30 averages

  • i can sub 1 minute with begionners but i wanna learn friedrich but i cant find any place that gives a good tutorial

  • badmephisto has the best tutorials

  • I can't go under 30 seconds T_T

my best is 31.76 with friedrich

  • using purely the beginners method and learning some good finger tricks my best is 57 seconds but using f2l and beginners i get a round 45 seconds

  • I solved the cube in 33 secs twice.. my best tym.. cross+2lookOLL+13PLL...

  • omg sad

  • trapped in the drive thru

  • I combine the fridrich and the beginners method

  • same here

  • haha thats exactly what i do also

  • i'm using your beginners method now, but not for the cross... how fast can you typically solve the rubiks cube using this beginners guide? i can't get out of 3 mins...

  • ur problem is easy..im also a beginner but i exceed it when i tried the combination method...listen F2L is the most fastest method to solve 1st and 2nd layer the remaining is ur top side so u may use thebeginner method is order to solve the top side..beginners method for top side do not need any permutation and orientation soi recommend to use it that expecting for some orientation and solve it by another permutation for short it takes a lot of time that using beginner method..

  • using begginer method, i got a time of 1:33 which is my fastest so far

  • me CROSS+F2L+2LookOLL+i memorized all 21 PLLs.. = 30.xx sec..my best time 36.93sec

  • my average time with the beginner's method is 1:45 with a crappy cube. I am currently learning Fridrich. My best was 1:08, but it was REALLY lucky

  • i had another case where only the diagonal edges needs to switch... blue and orange..

  • u said there are only 4 different cases, did i do something wrong then??

  • i am through with all the corners are in the right place...i have a prob though... i have all the edges that have to move... nothing is solved that can be placed on the back... i have the B to R, R to F, F to L, and L to B...

  • dudeman why are you teaching beginners how to solve the freidrichs method i have a layer by layer avge solve time of 1 min 11 sec and the fried richs is frustrating the hell outta me thes is good for those who can solve it but not beginners

  • This IS layer by layer. I don't understand what you mean. This is not fridrich.

  • i personally use a different method of makin it only centers all corners solved when ever i have 1 with the corners solved i put it in its respective position(on the side of its color of corners) then i put it on my right and i use F'lF'R2FL'F'R2F2

  • hey, normally i line up the top cross before the corners. wat method do you use?

  • thank you so fricken much this way seems so much easyer and your tutorials are fanomanal

  • to magikman27

    -this is how you spell

thank you so fricken much this way seems so much easier and your tutorials are phenomenal

  • ala ba jang pinoy version???

  • can u tell me where u got that rubiks cube

  • cube4you(.)com

  • tintakpan mo naman e...hehhee...^^

  • okie lang yan tol atliz na iintindihan....

  • my best one was 2.10mins it was skip. I just did one in 3 mins... so slow... lolz

  • jeje, lo ice en 19 minutos, y con guia

  • My best time is 22.44 seconds. It was really lucky. It was a PLL and OLL skip.

  • I've only gotten a PLL and OLL skip once in over a year of cubing.

  • I've never had both skip!

  • surprisingly, i get extremely lucky i have gotten OLL PLL skip like 15 times in the past 2 months.

  • My best time is 51 seconds and tht was with the beginners layer by layer method! XD

  • my best is 41 but i average 55

  • One of the best video tutorials (for me) on PLL. Your explanation is very good. Thank you.

  • MY best time is 1:19...hoping to get faster soon

  • So you don't have to really about us, just teach us some algorithms that are also very effective but a bit more difficult. I SUGGEST A "HOW To GET FASTER VIDEO"!! like Dan Brown.

If you see this, pls reply. Thx, dudemanpp!!!

I love seeing helpful people like you make a video to teach us some Rubik cube skills that words and pictures cannot convey. Thx again.

  • Glad that someone was willing to make an effort to make some tutorial for us novice cubers to learn. Good Effort;)

But there's something that I think might improve this video.

    Better quality if possible.

I think that you might be overprotective of some algorithms that you might not want to teach. For example you can import some new algorithms to help us do it faster. Here is one EASY algorithm that solve the opp edges for pll.

    M2UM2U2M2UM2.

  • Finally !

Ive been using a the very basic method taught by Dan borwn until now, and ive been on the lookout for a faster oll and pll. This is the first video i could finally understand.

Thanks so much, great video !

  • theres a book that comes with the cube....?

  • dan brown blows

  • I love you. Just kidding. I agree with you sooo much. All he did was take the book that comes with the cube and put it into a video.

  • where do u get ur white background cubes? i only have the typical one aand i want a cooler one plz tell me

  • cube4you(.)com

  • whats u guys best record? mine is 1min 25 sec so far.

i will try to get better.

  • 1:19 for me...want to get under 40 secs

  • mine now is 1:05. same, i wanna get under 1 min for now, then i'll set a new goal. but my cube sux. i hope a get a good cube as a christmas present.

  • i got 1:12

  • i like toast

  • my mummy makes them

  • make a speed solve video

  • u definitely cube like Dan knights (or maybe it's Dan Brown, not sure which one). One of those guys REALLY like to ue their thumbs. I don't use thumbs too often. I instead learned to do U' mid-algorithm by synchronize my left index finger with my right hand movements instead. I'm not good with my thumb at all. my thumb is retarded. :/

  • It's a compliment if you are comparing me to Dan Knights but not if it's Dan Brown. :)

  • dan knights.

  • i gotta better way but 2 correct corners n the back of the cube and do R' F R' B2 R F' R' B2 R2

  • That's just doing my algorithm but from a different angle.

  • i like pie

  • i bet i can solve it faster than u

  • Why do you insist on challenging me? How would you prove this?

  • make a video and when u start i start

  • that's not even fair. u could keep trying till u beat it by getting a lucky solve. it'd be more interesting in person anyway. though, i doubt i could beat either of you, not because of me, but because of my cube, so i don't even know why i'm interferring with this, so if u want me to butt out, sure.

  • Thank you so much!!! Now.... to remember the algs.. Thanks again!

  • Do you need some help memorizing the algorithms?

  • i like the Jessica Fridrich

    PLL better nice vid though

  • Oh but I would like to say I'm by no means a hater, you teach very well and I loved your OLL vid. :)

  • No It's not working for me still....and of course i dont wanna memorize 78 algs, but most of the time the method for prepping the to solve them doesnt work, like I cannot get it the described way trying every single corner.

  • i followed your steps and sloved it for my first time. thanks

  • These algs dont work at all, and are too specific to cases that u dont always get.

  • thats true, but im sure you dont want to have to remember at least 78 (21+57) algorithms right?

the probability this algorithm is required for rotating edges is 1/9. so remember it!

btw the algs work. ur just doing it wrong.

  • That is very true! Thanks for explaining it to him.

  • ughh i cant get it. you should talk abit slower and do the movement bit slower so i could actually see and hear what you are doing,

  • i dont understadn this one:S

  • thanks man cuz of u i can do it it 39.75 seconds

  • Wow! That's awesome! I'm glad I could help!

  • [QUOTE]swordsandsandals9999[/QUOTE]

Sword, below you ask about the clockwise method. You can achieve that by doing the inverse or the algorithm mentioned in the video:

    L' U L' U' L' U' L' U L U L2

or if you'd prefer a different algorithm:

    R2 U R U R' U' R' U' R' U R'

  • Also, keep in mind this is a beginners method. You can actually memorize all 21 PLL cases by searching Google for 'Rubik PLL'. Plenty of resources out there. My favorite is found at Cubewhiz dot com. Then click on PLL Algs.

It has videos so you can see each solve.

    Enjoy!

  • i keep doing the first algorithm what am i doing wrong

  • well i solved it thank you oh so much

  • what about left to right right to bottom bottom to left

  • what about left switches with right right to left left to bottom

  • you are my hero man

  • what do i do if i can already solve the green side

  • R U! R U R U R U! R! U! R2 takes too long

  • where do i get that paper

  • the algorithm 4 changing 3 edges:

    F2 U(U') R' L F2 R L' U(U') F2

the algorithm 4 changing top n bottom, n left n right edges:

    R2 L2 D' R2 L2 U2 R2 L2 D' R2 L2

the algorithm 4 changing top n right, left n bottom edges:

    R2 L2 D R L' F2 R2 L2 B2 R L' D' R2 L2

  • hey ummm just a suggestion. when ur doing the one where u have 2 change the 3 top edges, put the solved side in the back n then turn the front twice, then turn the top toward the side where 2 oppo colors r in one side(e.g. one side has a orange upside down L and the other colors r red), then right side down ( or counterclock) and left side down (or clock), front twice, right side up (or clock) left side up (or counter), then turn the top the same way u turned it b4, n then front twice.

  • for PLL to make it easier for you all u have to do is just put the 2 correct corners facing away from u. then just do the algorithm u described in the video. that'll fix your corners.

    just a suggestion =)

  • dude.. u are a genius!!! thanks soo much

  • I'm glad you liked it :D

  • Hey man is there any chance you would be able to pst a full fridrich method, intuitively? Your videos are the only videos i understand man.

  • Sup bro, i finally am able to get down to about 1 min 30 second solves, and my personal best is 1 min 19 secs.

  • alright cool, thanks man

  • Hey man, when i started to speed solve a little bit using the Java stopwatch, i was getting around 4:30:00, but now i've been practicing all day and im averaging around 2:10:00-2:30:00 right now, and hopefully by tomorrow i can get around 2 minutes consistently. Do you have any tips besides lubing my cube?

  • Practice each algorithm individually and try to get faster at each. By the way, this method requires you to memorize as little algorithms as possible, you may want to memorize some more algs.

    speedcubing . com/final_layer_permutation.html

  • One more thing man, pretty much in the beginning of the PLL i have to rotate it around until i find the 2 cornrs that line up correctly and are solved, then move it to the back right and do the algorithm?

  • Wtf, a minute? lmao that will take a while, jesus christ, im still memorizing the algorithms and stuff and it will take a while. :( i have a cube in my hand 24 hours a day so i dont think it will take to long. :D thanks for all your videos, hopefully we can stay in touch :D

  • woot i solved it :D

  • When you get to about a minute, let me know and I will post a full Fridrich tutorial. My best time is 22.98 seconds with that method.

  • awesome thanks a lot man, you explain it so freaken well that it just make its so damn easy, every single tutorial out there is just so bad, you make thrawst's tutorials look bad in terms of explaining it :)

  • I am very glad you like my videos. I actually learned from Thrawst and I saw the mistakes that he did (e.g. 2 corners solved in PLL) and I explained them to the best of my ability.

  • when your explaining the beginning and saying to make sure that the 2 arent the same, mine are the same throughout the entire last layer, with 2 same colors on every edge, what do i do?

  • At around 7:52 it explains what to do.

  • YAY THE LAST PART THANK YOU SO MUCH!
