  • damn she's cute

  • Very nice video :)

  • this should be the commerical for this camera!

  • Oh ya, this is CCC. No one knows what it means. :)

  • I KNOW WHERE THAT IS! LOL! Whos youtube account is this?

  • @IgniterKing Where is it?

  • was this just raw video file? or was this edited with color balances/correction? amazing quality! It looks like a feature film

  • @nairbsille A little bit of Magic Bullet Colorista and Looks. Thanks :)

  • bad brains!

  • whats more nicer.. the 7d or the 5d? whats the difference? i love these videos.. so clear

  • @eppiegood If you can afford it, the 5D produces a much cleaner image and has less noise than the 7D. It also depends a lot on the quality of your lens. So if you're trying to decided between good body and good lens, go with the cheaper body and get the good lens. Feel free to let me know if you have any more questions about it :)

  • It's amazing to see how accessible digital filmmaking has gotten. These shots look beyond professional.

I have a couple of questions: is this what you're only shooting with now in terms of shooting short films? What are you using for recording sound?

Also, do these videos lose resolution one they are transferred onto a DVD?

Sorry for so many questions! I love your videos, they're so amazing. Keep it up :o) !

  • Yep, we're only shooting with the Canon 5D Mark II and 7D right now. We may upgrade to a RED Scarlet S35 when they come out, we'll see :)

DVD's only support up to 480 resolution. So to answer your question, yes, you're losing more than half of the resolution by transcoding 1080 video to a DVD. Blu-ray burners are already available and pretty cheap now, though.

Always happy to answer questions! :)

  • Thank you!

One final question, when it comes to sound, do you record your sound on a seperate device and sync it to your footage later in "post?"

    Thank you :o)

  • Yep, we use a Sennheiser MKH-60 shotgun mic which we plug into a Zoom H4n. Totally separate audio recording. Our camera records audio too, which makes it easy to sync. There's also a plugin out there called Pluraleyes that syncs audio for you. Lotsa options nowadays :)

  • This made my day. :>

  • You guys got a steadicam merlin? When did that happen? :D Keep up the great work, Sean.

  • @ngstylez Haha, yep! Had it for a while actually, but now that I got rollerblades, it's even more fun to use!

  • lol, good idea using rollerblades. how much do steadicams cost?

  • @yutubecop We're just using a little handheld Steadicam Merlin here, $800 USD. Relatively cheap.

  • Pretty sweet. I'm loving the video quality.

  • very nice

  • Awesome! What'd you do with your 5d mkII? I want it!!! haha. I'm on Flickr if you wanna add me btw. I'm doing the 365 project.

  • @jp3553 Cool, I'll look you up. Used a 7D, like it says in the title :P

  • great vid!

  • i knew i'd like this video as soon as the music started. haha.

  • @trevsion Hehe, did you watch it on Take Zer0 before?

  • @heavymetalalien Thanks! Actually, I was using a 32" gold reflector :]

I talk about it a little more in my vlog post on takezer0. We recorded a lot using my rollerblade + steadicam merlin technique

  • This was adorable. I loved it.

  • @bunnymynost Thanksya, appreciate it :)

  • as much as i hate saying this to my friends. you have a cute sister.

  • @JesterC88 Haha, thanks :P

  • still not id hd yet. but youtube is prob still processing

  • nice!.. would you say its better to film with a slr or a normal camcorder?

  • @Bigcatpro I absolutely love the form factor of DSLRs! But it really depends on the job. If I were to shoot a feature film, I'd definitely look towards something like RED. But for everything else, these little cameras are invaluable.

  • the videos currently being uploaded to you tube are suffering from errors stemming from being added to the servers, they should be fixed shortly

  • @rike889 Thanks! Looks like it's finally working :)

  • awesome. love the end.

  • @itisnti It actually played for you? It keeps giving me an error :(

  • yep. but it wasn't in high quality.
