@eppiegood If you can afford it, the 5D produces a much cleaner image and has less noise than the 7D. It also depends a lot on the quality of your lens. So if you're trying to decided between good body and good lens, go with the cheaper body and get the good lens. Feel free to let me know if you have any more questions about it :)
Yep, we're only shooting with the Canon 5D Mark II and 7D right now. We may upgrade to a RED Scarlet S35 when they come out, we'll see :)
DVD's only support up to 480 resolution. So to answer your question, yes, you're losing more than half of the resolution by transcoding 1080 video to a DVD. Blu-ray burners are already available and pretty cheap now, though.
Yep, we use a Sennheiser MKH-60 shotgun mic which we plug into a Zoom H4n. Totally separate audio recording. Our camera records audio too, which makes it easy to sync. There's also a plugin out there called Pluraleyes that syncs audio for you. Lotsa options nowadays :)
@Bigcatpro I absolutely love the form factor of DSLRs! But it really depends on the job. If I were to shoot a feature film, I'd definitely look towards something like RED. But for everything else, these little cameras are invaluable.

It's amazing to see how accessible digital filmmaking has gotten. These shots look beyond professional.
I have a couple of questions: is this what you're only shooting with now in terms of shooting short films? What are you using for recording sound?
Also, do these videos lose resolution one they are transferred onto a DVD?
Sorry for so many questions! I love your videos, they're so amazing. Keep it up :o) !

Thank you!
One final question, when it comes to sound, do you record your sound on a seperate device and sync it to your footage later in "post?"
Thank you :o)
