It long precedes organized religion, as grave sites more than 15000 years old have been discovered with a male and female skeleton in them, indicating that they died and were buried together. There's nothing sacred about marriage.

Second of all, this isn't about rights at all. It's about redefining marriage. In Ca. domestic partners have exactly the same legal rights as married couples. Plus, there's no bar whatsoever on gay people being married in private ceremonies. The only issue is the state using the word "marriage".

that would be a great point except, I agree with you all major media is controlled very poorly by the gov. Which is why they are trying to find a way to tamp down the internet because all but fox ratings have dropped up to 50%.
I check all news with at least 2 other sources before I take it in. As should everyone.
But I gotta say MSBS or should I say GE is absolutely gone as a news source...

I assume you're trying to draw a parallel between O'Reilly and Hannity and Olbermann. The difference is that those other two hosts never spent an hour on vicious attacks on a non-political person. Maybe she's less than human to you, because she believes in the traditional definition of marriage. But I hold that every person should be treated with decency no matter their views. I used to think that's what liberals thought, too. Now I'm not so sure.

Of course, Bill and Sean never said anything bad about Cindy Sheehan, Jeremy Glick, Paul Krugman, Barbara Steisand, UNICEF, the people of Iraq? Ann Coulter loved the 9/11 widows. And they all had great things to say about the family of Bethany Wilkerson. How about Rush and Michael J Fox? What about the O'Reilly /Jesse Waters goon squads? While I respect the feelings of homosexuals, I am more concerned with the truth. If a man wants to marry his sister (PLEASE understand I'm not equating incest with homosexuality - it's just an example) it's not infringing on his rights to refuse him. If someone wants to say that 2+2=5, it's not denying his rights to say, "you're incorrect".
Marriage is the oldest human institution. It's been around for millenia. It's always been man-woman. I don't want to change it to make people feel better.

I've never been one for discrimination against gays/lesbians. What one does in his/her private life is their own business.
