@blownhemi Because of Laws in the UK regarding firearms you are not allowed to use a Fully automatic weapon in the UK or 9mm rounds doing this type of exercise. If caught breaking these laws your Firearms license would be taken away. Its hard to replicate virtual vs reality when there are no laws in the virtual world regarding firearms

Makes sense to em but hardly a fair comparison either way. a 9mm has more kick than a 22lr, but a X-box controller has no kick at all. Hard to compare the realities of firing a real gun against a computer game. I should know, I'm a competition shooter (IPSC). It takes a lot of training to shoot a real gun fast and accurately in this kind of timed scenario.

They didn't actually show the gun firing in the video, just some shot up targets. Have another look at the gun, particularly when you can see the magazine and the when you can see the end of the barrel. It's a GSG-5 22lr replica of a HK MP5.

wow.. ive never heard of THE GADGET SHOW but this segment was really interesting.. these guys beat out the idea of making an actual PIT course and compare how a real SAS soldier and a FPS gamer would do when they duke it out in the course. AOTS could have done this , nor xplay but if they do this, they would have their best shooter gamer fanatic compete with a navy seal operator.

Fact is, the SAS soldier maintained professionalism during the level.

He maintained a level of cover while taking out the targets, which is what would happen in real life to stay alive.

On the game he just ran in there shooting which would get you killed in seconds.

i think the real life soldier would do it faster, because he doesnt need to shoot all of them, he can quickly whack the targets down with the butt of his gun aswell, which is much faster than melee-ing in MW2, because you have to wait a couple secs inbetween every melee (unless ofcourse Jason is using a tactical knife attachment, then maybe Jason FTW)

Nice thought, none whatsoever unfortunately. Never even played the game. The show was only given the final go ahead by health and safety 5 days before the day of filming on the 17th Feb. Still trying to complete the building upper floor structure at 1800 hours on the 16th having been away on close-protection job for previous 24 hours.

MW2 isn't the most realistic game, if you want virtual vs real, you should be looking at ArmA2.

You can spin around as fast as you can, but I do not see a likelihood in spinning 540 and shooting a target with precision accuracy within half a second, a feat that only a mouse and keyboard could do. On insane sensitivity a player can only spin about 1-2 revolutions a sec and 2 is a stretch. Do you actually believe this is impossible or are you assuming because of course you have researched this.
